Iqbal Hossain Patwary ID No: EMBA- 12020701 Department of Marketing Comilla University S.W.O.T. ANALYSIS Identifying my Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats A SWOT analysis is a term used to describe a tool that is effective in identifying my Strengths and Weaknesses, and for examining the Opportunities and Threats you face. While it is a basic, Straight forward model, it has been a popular business practice for many years because it helps provide direction and serves as a basis for the development of business plans. It accomplishes this by examining the strengths (what an operation does well) and weaknesses (what an operation does not do well) in addition to opportunities (potential favorable conditions for an operation) and threats (potential unfavorable conditions for an operation). Once completed, the SWOT analysis can help determine if the information indicates something that will assist the operation in achieving its objectives (a strength or opportunity), or if it indicates an obstacle that must be overcome or minimized to achieve desired results (weakness or threat). What are the elements of a SWOT Analysis The SWOT analysis stands for the analysis of internal strengths and weaknesses of an operation and external opportunities...

Personal Perspective Paper

...am going to discuss how I have used the five-step decision-making model and a SWOT analysis to help me make different kinds of decisions. Five-Step Decision-Making Model I have already earned my Master’s in Business Administration and in doing so; I have learned large amounts of information about different types of decision-making models. However, one of the decision-making models that I have used most in my educational career is the five-step decision-making model. This model a simple five-step process that is easy to follow. The five steps of this model include “1. State the Problem, 2. Identify Alternatives, 3. Evaluate the Alternatives, 4. Make a Decision, and 5. Implement your Decision” (Stellar Force, 2010, para. 3). The five-step decision-making model uses logic and a normal thought process that should be used most of the time in making decisions, especially when they are important decisions. SWOT Analysis Another decision-making model that I have used most of my educational career is a SWOT analysis. “The definition of SWOT analysis is to evaluate the qualitative (non-number) aspects of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a company or organization” (Stellar Force, 2010, para. 1). Using a SWOT analysis will help businesses better to understand themselves and their competition in order to make the best decisions for the company. It is important to do a SWOT analysis...

Swot Analysis

...SWOT Analysis One of the first steps to starting your own business is to develop a clear and concise business plan. Each person’s business plan is going to be different is some way; however, there are several key points which should be included in the business plan. I will discuss further the following six key points: an executive summary, company background information, market analysis, functional and organizational strategies and resources, management team, and time line and major milestones. The business plan I chose is the financial planning business plan. The first reason I chose this particular business plan is that my ultimate goal, after completing my bachelorette degree, is to open up a financial planning company to assist the less fortunate citizens. The second reason I chose this business plan is that is suitable for the company I plan to open. It lists some of the key points I mentioned in the paragraph above. The second step to starting a business is to put together a SWOT analysis. This is a system that focuses on recognizing the internal strengths and weaknesses of the proposed new venture. SWOT also focuses on evaluating external opportunities and threats that will promote or hinder the success of the new venture.  (Jones, 2007). In order to recognize the internal strengths of my company, I have to first begin with developing a management team of strong leaders that have the skills and experience in the field of finance.
