No, Vietnam is not a suitable expansion location for American Rice and the reasons are as follow. * Long history of communist Vietnam has long history of communist, strongly influenced by the Soviet Union. In other words, possibilities of the government intervene the agricultural industry might exist, when that sector plays a leading role in the Vietnam economy. Even though there was an effort to renovate Vietnam’s economy; "Doi Moi", a country with turbulent history is not used to the competitive market system enough. * Political instability and uncertainties in the legal system This is one of the most important reasons why Vietnam is not a suitable expansion location for American Rice. As stated in the case, the new laws which partially aimed to reassure foreign investors were not supported with appropriate related regulations and enforcement structure. It was perceived to be weak and confusing. An important milestone has been the Vietnam-US Bilateral Trade Agreement, BTA. A subsequent milestone will be Vietnamese membership in the WTO, which is under preparation and expected for 2006. As part of this process of internationalisation, Vietnam is also opening its financial sector to foreign financial institutions. Currently, foreign banks have already started to provide banking services in Vietnam. Internationalisation will pose major challenges for financial sector polices, underlining the importance of further progress with financial sector reforms and reforms of monetary policy. This paper will present the current status of the reform of monetary policy in the context of economic and financial sector developments in Vietnam and identify key reform issues with respect to monetary policy. The genus is named after Kiyoshi Shiga, who first discovered it in 1897. The causative agent of human shigellosis, Shigella causes disease in primates, and is the only naturally found in humans and apes. Shigella is one of the leading bacterial causes of diarrhea worldwide and it is suggested that Shigella causes about 90 million cases of severe dysentery, with at least 100,000 of these resulting in death each year. Shigella originates from a human-adapted E. coli that has gained the ability to invade the human gut mucosa, spreading through fecal-oral transmission via contaminated food or water. Depending on age and condition of the host, fewer than 100 bacterial cells can be enough to cause an infection. The infection results in the destruction of the epithelial cells of the intestinal mucosa. Some strains produce the enterotoxin shiga toxin, which is similar to the verotoxin of E. coli. The species invades the host through the cells in the gut epithelia of the small intestine.
