... the problem that I am having is about a cat. Every day, as soon as I step outside, a cat comes rubbing itself on my legs and it gets pretty annoying after a while. The cat doesn’t have an owner, she’s a stray cat or to put it simply, the neighborhood cat. I don’t like the cat and I think it should go away, but it seems like I’m the only one who feels that way. My brother and a little girl that lives across the street play around with it, feed it and like the cat being around the neighborhood. When they feed and play around with the cat, the cat gets more attached and stays around. That’s where the problem comes in. I want the cat to go away but they feed it and make it stay around. So to analyze the problem deeper and get in more detail I have chosen the root cause analysis method. Root Cause Analysis Defining the problem • What do I see happening?...

...Professor : Susan Houts Room: 225 Why cats are better companions than dogs We all know that common saying that ‘’A dog is a man’s best friend.” Even though that saying may contain some truth, but dogs are not the only animal friend whose companionship people enjoy, including myself. For many people, a cat is their best friend. Despite what dog lovers may believe, cats make excellent house pets as they are good companions. They are civilized members of the household, and they are easy to care for. In the first place, people enjoy the companionship of cats. Many cats are affectionate, and that goes for my cat fluffy. They will snuggle up with you and ask to be petted, or scratched under the chin. Who can resist a purring cat? If they are not feeling affectionate, cat are generally quite playful. They love to chase balls and feathers, or just about anything that dangling from a string. They especaially enjoy playing when their owners are participating in the game. Contrary to popular opinoin, cats can be trained to avoid unwanted behaviors or perform tricks. They are smart and adjust to variety of situatuions. In addition to being such great companions, cats are civilized members of the household. Unlike dogs, cats do not bark or make loud noise. Most cats don’t even meow very often. They generally lead a quite existence. Cats often do not not have ‘’accident’’. The cats mothers train their kittens to use the litter box, and most cases the cats will use it without fail from that...

...(The Black Cat). Gothic literature uses many different techniques to give a reader a spooky or dark feel from a story. Edgar Allen Poe used ghost twin, dark and spooky setting, and unreliable narrator in his gothic literature stories. Poe used the gothic technique of ghost twin in his literature. In his story “The Black Cat”, he used this technique. “I approached it, and touched it with my hand. It was a black cat--a very large one--fully as large as Pluto, and closely resembling him in every respect but one.” Edgar Allen Poe is talking about a cat the narrator found in the den of his house. He had recently hung his own cat, Pluto, who was all black....

...Reflection Paper Hanjing Kong 11/1/15 Emily Murphy Bus X103 Reflection Paper: Cats Haven Nowadays, as the quality of people’s life getting higher, keeping a pet as a company at house start to become a popular trend in this society. However, a lot of people who buy pets later decide it is an inconvenience and get rid of them. Pet abandonment becomes a huge problem worldwide. There are countless millions of cats and dogs put to death every year, simply because people want to breed more pure blood pets, or just because they are not able to survive after they got abandoned. Majority pets got abandoned will have their lives forcefully ended feeling terrified, alone and unloved. Statistics worldwide shows that there are around six hundred million pets every year and many countries have extremely cruel animal overpopulation controls. Luckily, there are still groups of kind people in this world who would provide abandoned pets shelters, food, and love selflessly. I have always wanted to volunteer in an animal shelter, but it is quite difficult because volunteering at animal shelters usually requires several months of training and classes which my schedule doesn’t allow me to participate. After surfing on the Internet for 3 hours, I found Cats Haven. Cats Haven is Indianapolis’s oldest non-profit, no-kill, free-roaming feline sanctuary. It has been serving the Central Indiana community by specializing in care for special needs and elderly felines for over 25 years...

...Many homes around the world have at least one cat living inside as a pet; in fact many homes have a few cats dwelling in them. People raise these animals for many reasons. Some want them for their companionship. Cats are soft, sweet, and lovable. People like playing with them when they are kittens and once they are older and calm love just snuggling with them. The reason these people keep cats is mainly for enjoyment. However, many other people keep cats to control the mouse or insect population in their house or on their farms. These cats usually do not come into much contact with their owners. Most just stay outside or in the barn where the mice are. But the question is where did cats originally come from, who first domesticated them, and who are their first ancestors? I think that all cats from the giant lions of Africa to the small house cat all came from the same ancestor. I will address and hopefully answer these questions and try to shed some light on the subject. I read many websites dealing with this issue. One was from the Feline Advisory Bureau and another was written by H. Ellen Whiteley. Both are considered experts on this subject. Ironically both art Also found in this area was another animal that many consider the species that the genus Felis descended from. This animal was called the miacis (4), a cat like meat eater whose fossils have been found in areas of North America, Europe, and Asia. These fossils were all found in the Eocene age, anywhere from the...

American author, poet, editor, and literary critic. His life was filled with tragedy, this had a fortunate side effect on his writing and added a degree of sadness and a depth of despair that can be hard to read, let alone replicate. Poe’s best know fiction works are Gothics, a genre his mostly wrote to appease the public taste. He often chose dark themes for his works, included questions about death, decomposing of bodies, premature burial, mourning, and necromancy. All of these elements are in the black cat. Summary An unnamed narrator opens the story by stating that he is sane, despite the wild an unnatural story of horror he is about to tell. The narrator confesses a great love for animals. ...Edgar Allen Poe’s The Black Cat, much like many of his other stories, is a tale of inexplicable violence and perverseness, and yet it is an amazing insight into the mind’s ability to observe itself and even give itself away, as evidenced in end of the tale of the narrator. Indeed, even the narrator himself is aware of this fact that he is going insane somehow, and even with this knowledge and the knowledge that he continues to proceed in his insanity it’s not enough to stop his descent. The narrator takes time and details each aspect of his madness, in a sense observing his actions from a detached perspective, even though the story is written in the first person, like a psychiatrist. There is however a tinge of awareness and perhaps some sense of guilt in how the narrator conveys the story. Much of his actions make no sense and seem to have no logical intent, and perhaps that is what Poe tries to convey when the narrator describes and his actions in the word, “PERVERSENESS.” One interesting note is that the narrator defends himself in the very beginning with “Yet, mad am I not—” and yet he begins to logically process his reactions with, “have terrified — have tortured — have destroyed me.” Thus, in the very act of saying he isn’t mad, and then by logically outlining his guilt, he shows his own descent into madness and his objectivity throughout the process, questioning whether the narrator feels guilty at all or not. After The Black Cat begins with the narrator’s description...

...A cat that is a part of my life. I still cannot forget him. This farewell was too hard for me to take. Would it be strange if I was trying to describe my misery over a cat? I would never be depressed over a farewell with a random cat. He was part of my life. Tangerine orange smooth fur, running around the house like a horse surprised by something and gone crazy. Short legs, bright and huge eyes, normal-sized ears. 1 year old Munchkin came to my house about 6-7 months ago. He reminds me of the cat in the story “Puss in Boots”. I gave my cat the name, Dong. Why? Because I wanted him to be a part of me. He was too cute for me to just breed him like a normal cat. I spent my time with him from the moment when the sun showed its face above the mountains to when it finished its job and the moon started brightening up the busy city. Tokyo was probably the best place for a house-cat to stay. Healthy food, comfortable houses, and family to be loved… I am not the kind of person that would do only that kind of things to my cat. I treated him like a human. I slept with him, I ate three meals with him, and took a shower together. He was like my younger brother. I loved him more than anything in the world. Every morning, I find him laying besides my body and purring loudly, rubbing his face...
