The Devious and Dishonorable is a procedural crime drama that follows a recent, 24-year-old college grad, Eric Weinstein as he fights the opioid epidemic against pharmaceutical companies in Boston, Massachusetts. Weinstein graduated from MIT in the Class of 2016, and majored in Biochemistry. During Weinstein’s sophomore year of University, his mom overdosed on prescription hydrocodone pills, commonly branded as Vicodin, after being prescribed them following a simple, wisdom tooth surgery. The primary conflict of the show is Weinstein fighting against pharmaceutical companies, such as Teva Pharmaceuticals and Endo International, to prevent opioid overdoses and investigate the distribution of these powerful painkillers.
