Being recommended by my teachers for the National Juniors Honors Society has been a huge honor. The National Juniors Honors Society is a nationwide program that recognizes middle school students not just for their academic prowess, but also for their all around abilities.The five pillars of NJHS make up my character and the person I aspire to be in the future. They are service, leadership, citizenship, character, and scholarship. These five pillars are also why I would like to be a member of NJHS. This prestigious program would allow all five of these skills be heightened to their full potential. This is why membership in NJHS means so much to me.

Being a part of NJHS means I can make an impact in my community. Growing up in Bowie and living here my whole life, I have seen things that could be changed for the better. Such as trash laying in my local park and homeless people with no food or shelter.I would love to hold food drives, give back to the people who don't have as much as everyone else and pick up trash so anything nature has created won't be harmed. When people are laying down on their couches, there are people in need and things to be done. I want to be the person to get up and help. That is what NJHS would help me do. …show more content…
Working with like-minded peers working towards the same goal as me has been a dream of mine. It would help me share ideas and ideals with others. NJHS collaborates with many other organization in order to secure a healthy community. Also, NJHS would help me manage my time better. Being a student athlete takes up most of my time.
