As I compared my findings from the interviews of two different people with other previous research, it seemed to support and reject certain sociological findings. When I started to interview the individuals, I set up the questions beforehand and then scheduled to meet up with both of my interviewees at different times on different days. From there, I asked them the questions prepared and recorded the answers in my notebook and on my phone. The two people I interviewed have very different sporting experiences. The one is a male that has been an athlete for almost his whole life and still continues to play sports in college. He also coaches other kids in soccer and hopes to play professionally. The other person I interviewed is a female that participated in a couple of sports as a child but then stopped participating due to too much competitiveness among her teammates. She also found that women sports weren’t as popular or got a lot of attention in her town so she decided to manage her high schools men’s teams. Later, when I looked at both of my transcripts, I noticed that even though these two individuals had different experiences, they still shared some similarities.
