The fennec fox, found in the Sahara of North Africa and other semi-arid regions, is the smallest in the fox species. They measure 14-16 inches long and weigh up to 3.3 pounds. Known as ‘sweeps’ their tails measure 7-12 inches long helping them change direction while running. It also acts as a blanket while they sleep, warming up their feet and nose.
