1 What is business research? Business research is the direction that focuses on understanding the behavior, desires and preferences of customers, competitors and markets in market-driven economy. It is a process of gathering the data and information related to the concerned issue 2 Why is the project that Paul Thomas Anderson is doing for The Larouche Candy Company a research project? In general research can be use to solve business related issues. Mr. Anderson prepared a business research to find a solution for Mr. Davy’s problem. Mr. Davy was concerned if he will be able to take over family company, if he will be strong enough to keep business floating and whether that will affect family relationship. Mr. Anderson obtained information that addresses those issues. 3 Which steps will Paul take now that he has clearly defined the problem that needs attention? First step is to identify the problems. Next step is to diagnose and assess problems. Sometimes the problem might be too broad, so you need to narrow your research. Mr. Anderson need to figure out how deeps Mr. Davy’s concerns, what might be the reasons for those issues and estimate them. He can do the SWAT analysis to evaluate the company. Then, select and implicate a course of action.Prepare the plan of actions. Mr. Anderson need to find the best approach that going to satisfy not only Mr. Dany but the whole company. And last but not least evaluate the course of action.
