The Search for Earth-like Planets

December 5, 2011 must have been an exciting day for astronomers all over the world as NASA announced to the public the discovery of an Earth-like planet potentially able to support life. The planet, 2.4 times the size of the Earth, is six hundred light-years away in what astronomers call the “Goldilocks Zone”, an area in which a planet has an ideal temperature because of its distance from a star. It orbits around a star similar to the sun of the Earth, and the temperature of its surface is habitable at 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Scientists are hopeful that this planet might possess water and land, but they are not sure as of the moment if the majority of it is made up of solid, liquid or gas (Bloxham).

Kepler 22-b is just one of the extrasolar planets observed by NASA that has a probability to be inhabited by extraterrestrial life forms. Since 1960, NASA has funded different exobiology projects, including Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), in hopes that astronomers can find evidences of life in outer space. Thinking that extraterrestrials would likely leave something behind to signal other intelligent beings during their exploration, astronomers of SETI previously tried to detect interstellar probes to be able send messages back to them, but until now, none have been discovered. Despite this, scientists working on SETI have not given up, focusing more on searching for Earth-like planets in different galaxies. So far, they have discovered “super Earths” that are larger and less temperate than Earth. Some astronomers estimate that perhaps half of the 200 billion or so suns in the Milky Way support terrestrial, Earth-like worlds. What the astronomers do is pick out planets that orbit their suns at distances where temperatures are right for liquid water and possible life. By 2013, says Bill Borucki, Kepler, a new ambitious NASA mission is likely to have located “hundreds or even thousands” of potential habitable worlds (Romano 46-47).

A Short History on ETs

Even before people had the chance to observe and discover planets like they can now, their interest and belief in extraterrestrial beings have been prevalent since the early centuries in ancient carvings, legends and mythology, although the extraterrestrials were mostly depicted as gods or angels. A popular example is the alien race in ancient Sumerian texts, Annunaki from Planet X or Nibiru, which was said to have arrived on Earth thousands of years ago and was said to have created humans for the purpose of them being slaves (Jaeger). Early civilizations such as China, Japan, Egypt and India also had other incredible tales about gods coming down to earth in flying chariots or luminous airborne crafts. In addition to this, many prehistoric cave paintings, dating as far back as 45,000 B.C., show strange-looking humanoids similar to the common aliens seen in the movies with their pure black eyes and bulbous heads surrounded by a halo. Circular and cigar-shaped discs were also seen in different carvings and art pieces in Europe which can be compared to the Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) believed to be controlled by highly-advanced extraterrestrials. These artworks and literature were not taken seriously for a time because of the lack of proof that extraterrestrial life existed. They were treated as myths, not records of true happenings and alien visitations in the past.

As science and technology progressed, the idea of other intelligent beings actually existing arose, especially since the time when it was proven that the Earth orbits around the sun, which meant that it is not the center of the universe. With the invention of the telescope, people found out that outer space contains so much more than just their solar system. Philosophers and scientists started to think that Earth did not hold a special and unique place in the universe, which meant that if somewhere in space there was a celestial body that has the characteristics to support life, intelligent beings could arise from there as they did on Earth. They began to ponder on the possibilities of life in other planets. John Burroughs wrote in The Breadth of Life, “The earth is not alone, it is not like a single apple on a tree; there are many apples on the tree, and there are many trees in the orchard.”

In modern times, the interest in aliens has not ceased but further increased. Since the year 2000, 120 films with the extraterrestrial theme have been released (“List”), and many of them have garnered box office hits. The films‟ depiction of aliens range from them being violent heartless creatures that try to invade the Earth to compassionate captives of the government capable of supernatural powers and healing that try to find a way back to their home. In movies like War of the Worlds (2005), Cloverfield (2008), Skyline (2010), Aliens (1986), Independence Day (1996) and Mars Attacks (1996), extraterrestrials were portrayed as evil beings whose goal is to use humans for their own purpose no matter how much it would harm them. On the other hand, films like E.T.: The Extraterrestrial (1982), District 9 (2009), Avatar (2009) and Paul (2011) treated humans as the villains. Men in Black (1997), Star Wars (1977), Alien Vs Predator (2004) and Transformers (2007) had the idea of war among the aliens from different planets. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) and Knowing (2009) showed aliens as superior beings who are willing to save humans from their own weakness and destruction. Alien Abduction (2005), The Fourth Kind (2009), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), The Forgotten (2004) and Fire in the Sky (1993) explored the alien abduction phenomenon and described its psychological effects to the victims of this traumatic experience. These movies may be fictional, but just like other literary pieces, they are based on ancient myths, legends and true events. Their representation of extraterrestrials is not far from the beliefs of those who believe in alien existence. People experimenting on extraterrestrials, extraterrestrials experimenting on people, aliens abducting people and creating clones, humans acquiring alien technology, aliens leading humans to spiritual and intellectual advancement, aliens waging war against each other and aliens disguising themselves as humans could be too fantastic for anyone to believe, yet some claim that these are all true. Can one quickly throw these possibilities away just because they seem to have come out of a science fiction movie?

Evidences of Extraterrestrial Intelligence

Proving that these are really happening is hard because there is usually only little physical proof that can be recovered from the UFO sighting areas. There may be archeological evidences that prove extraterrestrials influenced human history as shown in the television series Ancient Aliens of History Channel and Erich von Däniken‟s controversial books, suggesting that they once landed on earth and shaped human civilization by teaching them scientific and technological knowledge, but aside from pictures and video clips, there are almost no other confirmations that extraterrestrials are among people today except for personal statements. Even though testimonies are not tangible evidences, they can still be sufficient to prove or disprove an issue. Voltaire gave some criteria on how to judge the credibility of a witness. First, the testimony must be similar to that of numerous sane and rational people who are sure of what they saw. Second, the witness must be someone unbiased who will not gain anything in speaking forth. Lastly, he must be sincere and firm in attesting to his story (Licauco 29).

Among the extraterrestrial phenomena, UFO sightings have the most number of reputable witnesses like military men and scientists. Clifford Stone, a former US military intelligence officer concluded about one particular UFO sighting that real objects were seen, that those objects were the result of a highly advanced technology that scientists cannot replicate, and that there was an intelligence not originating from Earth involved (Ashpole). World War I ace Captain Eddie Rickenbacker and Senator Barry Goldwater, a general in the United States air force reserve both became convinced that UFOs exist because too many pilots and good respectable men had experienced seeing them.

In addition to these, alien abductions experienced by different people also make many believe that extraterrestrials not only exist but also dwell among them. In Paranormal Borderline, a 1996 United Paramount Network (UPN) show, an episode showed a video footage from an office surveillance camera of what seemed to be an alien abduction. After a flash of light and a quick loss of signal, a man who was alone at that time suddenly vanished. After two hours, the flash of light and the loss of signal happened again; then the man returned. He vomited, staggered and walked away. After being studied by different experts in the field of video editing, the video was found to be undoctored and authentic (Skullrik). Aside from that video, the testimonies of various abductees convince many psychiatrists that alien abductions really happen. Dr. John Mack, M.D., a professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, is one of these psychiatrists. After much study, he was able to determine whether his clients were true abductees or just hallucinating using psychological techniques. He discovered that alien abductions were not rare at all and that the abductees vary in gender, race and age group, without any apparent connection (Fuentes). Also, through hypnosis, other researchers and psychiatrists found out that there is a link between the encounters of their supposed abductee patients. If people who were believed to be abducted narrated of common experiences, then something common must have caused them, thus proving that the abductions were not merely going on inside their own minds.

While UFO sightings and alien abductions are going on in society, the governments of different developed countries like America continue to stay silent about these issues. On November 9, 2011, a member of the White House‟s Office of Science and Technology policy stated in response to an online petition submitted to the White House‟s website, “The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race” (Bloom). However, whistleblowers like Sergeant Clifford Earl Stone of the United States Army say otherwise. He testified that the American government had known about the existence of extraterrestrials for a long time and had even made deals with them. His statement, along with official documents that support it, is another proof that aliens are actively engaging with humans today (Boyajian).

Spiritual Aliens?

Until now, people are still interested in extraterrestrials, and they can easily learn that there are already many evidences of their existence and their meddling with human society. What is difficult to understand is their purpose in coming to earth. Through bits of information, many people have formulated their own theories. Some say that extraterrestrials created humans, while others say that they are demons. Some say that they came to help humans, while others say that they came to destroy them. This research aims to make clear the mission of extraterrestrials, which is a dark mystery to many people. Not only does this research investigate the different experiences of people with aliens, but it also connects them all together to form a big picture, not leaving anything out, but striving to make sense of it all. Having accomplished this, this research also moves on to present ideas that will show the aliens in a new light that many people might have failed to see upon their initial research, cautioning the readers not to fully trust these beings because of the tricks that might be up their sleeves. They might not be what they say they are, and no one can possibly know because they work in a ground unfamiliar to humans, a ground not in the physical, but in the spiritual.

Ralph and Judy Blum wrote in their book entitled Beyond Earth: Man’s Contact with UFOs, “After a year of delving into the subject, I still cannot subscribe fully to any one theory about UFOs. The preferred hypothesis is that they are the advanced craft of extraterrestrial beings that are far ahead of us both technologically and psychically. But they might be part of a psychic phenomenon which for centuries has been manifesting in forms acceptable to our stage of development – “sky people”, fiery chariots, airships, rockets and now spacecraft, which would mean that UFOs are “paraphysical”, composed of a type of intelligent energy that can take any form it desires, or simply dematerialize. Far out as this notion seems, it would explain the countless converge. It is even possible that we are dealing with both extraterrestrial and paraphysical phenomena” (Blum 225).

A common and popular misconception about extraterrestrials is that they are simply scientifically advanced physical beings created by God or developed through evolution. However, a deep investigation of the UFO phenomenon can lead people to discover that they claim to be more than mentally advanced creatures but also spiritually advanced. They communicate with humans through the realms of the paranormal like telepathy, automatic writing and other psychic activities. This does not mean that they are not physical. As many paranormal experts know, ghosts and spirits possess physical characteristics. In fact, Maurice Townsend, Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP) Chairman, wrote in the ASSAP website, “Most ghosts look like normal people - not transparent or glowing like their fictional representations. You could walk past one in the street and not notice it” (Townsend). In addition to this, there are also doppelgangers, spirits that copy the appearance of a still living person, that people see without suspecting that they are spirits. Knowing this, extraterrestrials‟ agenda could be more than just a materialistic one like wanting more territory or saving their race from extinction as movies usually portray. To discover their purpose, people need to first explore their activities on earth like alien abduction and alien contact.

Alien Abduction: Scenario

As mentioned earlier, abductees recollected many alike experiences from the abductions. The following narration is what psychiatrists discovered through hypnosis to be the similar events that the abductees went through.

The typical alien abduction scenario would happen at night, sometimes while the person is in bed or when he is alone outside. He would be approached by human-like creatures or small, thin, bald-headed, black-eyed aliens also known as Greys and would be forced to go into their spaceship. Sometimes, he would be levitating while entering the ship. The abductee would then find himself on an operating table, unable to move. The aliens would be examining him, concentrating on his reproductive parts. They would communicate with him through an alien language or through telepathy. In some occasions, he would get to tour the spaceship. The whole experience would be horrifying to him. After some time, the abductee would be sent back to where he was abducted. He would not remember anything at first, but he would wonder where he got his bruises and sometimes even a lump somewhere underneath his skin. He would also realize that he had lost a significant amount of time. He would feel something different inside of him, and his behavior might change, exhibiting restlessness and sleeplessness. He would dream disturbing nightmares, and he would suddenly remember bits of his memories from the abduction. He would then decide to consult a psychiatrist to appease his mind.

Alien Abduction: Purpose

These strange activities make one wonder what the aliens could possibly be doing. At first glance, it would seem that they are only trying to study the anatomy of humans, but researchers like Budd Hopkins, a well-known figure in the alien abduction scene, think that there is more to it than that. According to him, after researching for 20 years, he has no doubt that the purpose of alien abductions is to create and breed a hybrid species of alien and human (Hopkins 378). Why could they be doing this? Is their species dying out that they need to transfer their genes to humans to preserve their race, or are they actually trying to upgrade humans by creating hybrids? To figure this out, one must analyze what happens after people get abducted. In a speech addressing the International Institute of Integral Human Sciences (IIIHS), Mary Rodwell, co-founder of the Australian Close Encounter Resource, said after being involved with over a thousand alien abductees from United Kingdom, North America, Europe, Russia, Japan and South America, “My clients include both adults and children who exhibit transformative changes such as telepathy, clairvoyance and healing as they become more spiritually aware and begin to operate on a multi-dimensional band of reality” (Rodwell). As mentioned earlier, aliens are believed to be spiritually advanced beings, so it is not strange that the effects of abductions to people can be spiritual as it seems to be according to Rodwell‟s report. The results of alien abduction are so strong that people who were not psychic before started to possess paranormal abilities, and their influence to the human society does not stop there.

Alien Abduction: Indigos and Star Seeds

Since the early 1960‟s, Indigo children or Indigos and Star Seeds have started to spring forth. Indigos, getting their name from the color of the aura supposedly surrounding them, are believed to be a new and evolved generation of humanity. Many psychologists have studied these types of children and found out that they are very perceptive, emotionally sensitive and highly intelligent, making them assertive to authority. They also possess an inner sense of purpose or mission and various incredible psychic abilities like telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, telekinesis, etc. Because they act very differently from ordinary children, they are usually wrongly diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (Chapman). Strangely, they also have different DNA from ordinary people. According to Richard Boylan, Ph.D., these children are born from splicing alien genes into a human‟s reproductive material (Boylan). This alludes to Budd Hopkins‟ theory on the purpose of alien abductions which is to create human-alien hybrids. Apparently, the abductors are successful, not just in producing them but also in giving them inborn psychic abilities.

Alien Contact

The abductions seem to focus on spiritually evolving humans through physical manipulations, but there is another extraterrestrial activity that aims to do the same thing through sending spiritual messages to specially chosen humans. This activity is called alien contact. In “Alien Abduction Narratives and Religious Contexts”, Scott R. Scribner wrote, “Alien abduction narratives differ from contactee narratives in that most contactee narratives are explicitly intended to convey spiritual meaning… Contactee messages easily fall into a religious category, especially with their emphasis on revelatory visions” (Tumminia 139). Anna E. Kubiak wrote in her essay, “Aliens from the Cosmos: A Discourse of Contemporary UFO Myths”, “Contactees often have imminent metaphysical messages for humanity, which include moral injunctions, apocalyptic pronouncements and themes of being chosen by a higher power. Such people often classify their own experiences as spiritual and transformational” (Tumminia 213). The extraterrestrials who communicate with people promote love, peace and human improvement. They are called spiritual guides by many contactees because of their help. Unlike the alien abductors, these extraterrestrials actually explain to people about spiritual ascension. They say that the earth has a distorted planetary grid, the map of invisible lines on earth describing the flow of energy, causing the DNA of humans to also be distorted, thus, making their “divine” selves unreachable to them. However, in the near future (as near as 2012), they say that the planet will encounter a shift that will make the grids align, giving humans the chance to evolve spiritually (Center for Self Transformation). They also say that those who do not evolve might not be able to survive the shift, so they consider their message urgent for everyone to heed (The Lightside “Aliens”). To be ready for all of this, the contactees are taught to connect with their souls through letting go of all negativity and deep meditation. They are also told to connect with the energy and flow of the earth (Center for Self Transformation). Their teachings are extremely similar to New Age teachings which are a mix of Wiccan, Hinduism and Buddhism, but they also acknowledge the existence of the famous spiritual teachers from other religions like Mohammed and Jesus Christ, saying that they are also ascended beings like extraterrestrials (Smith).

What’s with the DNA?

Both the abductions and messages have two things in common: spiritual ascension and DNA. Scientists have known for some time that only 3% of DNA is being used by humans. The other 97% is called “junk DNA”. They do not fully know what the function of “junk DNA” is, considering it as a mystery (Suurkula). Dr. Alexis Carrel, a Nobel prize winning surgeon wrote in Man, the Unknown, “Man, as known to the specialists, is far from being the concrete man, the real man. He is nothing but a schema, consisting of other schemata built up by the techniques of each science… In fact our ignorance is profound… Immense regions of our inner world are still unknown” (Licauco 68). Even though science does not know about “junk DNA”, spiritual healers like Toby Alexander do. He wrote that there is a multi-dimensional approach in activating the entire human DNA. He said that the activation can bring forth psychic abilities and remove people‟s blockage from the God source inside of them (Alexander). This lines up with what the aliens are saying about the number of DNA strands affecting spiritual ascension, and this also could expound on why abductees and Indigos become psychic: because manipulating the DNA can actually lead to spiritual ascension.

Age of Aquarius

With the new generation of genetically modified humans, a growing number of “awakened” individuals and the teachings of extraterrestrials which will surely become more and more popular in the coming years, aliens believe that they will be able to bring humans into the Age of Aquarius. Jaime Licauco defined the Age of Aquarius in The Psychic World and You as “the Golden Age when man will no longer be at war with man, an age where his pristine psychic and other higher faculties will once more become dominant, rather than his reason or intellect, which has characterized this Piscean Age, which is about to end” (Licauco 151). In this age, it is believed that the Eastern culture would replace the Western culture in its dominance; science and sequential thinking will be replaced with spirituality and intuition. There would no longer be hate and war because man would have been evolved into a creature of love and openness. Since the age preceding the Age of Aquarius is the total opposite, aliens plan for the humans who have been awakened beforehand to assist mankind towards this shift. It is clear that most, if not all, extraterrestrials are on earth to help people spiritually advance, and this vision of extraterrestrials for the human race is wonderful. However, there is little people know about extraterrestrials for them to be sure that they have their best interest at heart. They do share incredible knowledge with the human race, but they do it secretly, which is suspicious. It may seem that the apple they are handing humans is sweet and delicious, but what if it is actually poisonous? Before deciding whether to trust them or not, people should first look into the controversies concerning extraterrestrials, especially those that portray them to be the villain.

A Look on the Bad Aliens/Demons

Many people believe that there are good aliens and bad aliens. The bad aliens are those that make deals with the American government, and those who perform abductions that are morbid and painful. Paul Hellyer, a former deputy prime minister of Canada and the longest serving current member of the Queen‟s Privy Council, believe that the United States use extraterrestrial technology to develop new forms of energy and other highly classified operations (The Ottawa Citizen). The Snowbird Document acquired by Stone stated that the American government made contact with aliens in 1959. On April 25, 1964, it is written in that document that an agreement was made between the government and the extraterrestrials in which the government will not interfere with the aliens and not make their presence known to the public in exchange for technology. They were allowed to build bases in different places like Florida and Nevada. In exchange for mind control, beam weaponry and anti-gravity technology, they let the aliens experiment on people and mutilate animals (Boyajian).

Alien abductions are seemingly conducted to modify the genes of humans for DNA activation as mentioned earlier. However, if the experiments fail, they have negative effects to the abductees both physically and psychologically. Many of them suffer from serious and fatal illnesses that they never had before the encounter. They also go through painful experiments during the abduction. In addition to these physical pains, they are sometimes threatened to be tortured if they do not cooperate and forced to perform sexual intercourse with aliens or other abductees (Tong). Unsurprisingly, alien abductions always leave the victims terrified. For the abductees, the experience is like something out of a horror movie. Whitley Strieber wrote in his nonfiction novel, Transformation, “I felt an absolutely indescribable sense of menace. It was hell on earth to be there [in the presence of the entities], and yet I couldn't move, couldn't cry out, couldn't get away. I'd lay as still as death, suffering inner agonies. Whatever was there seemed so monstrously ugly, so filthy and dark and sinister” (Tong).

While this phenomenon seems physical or psychological, many people observed that it is also spiritual, specifically demonic. Strieber wrote in the same book, “Increasingly I felt as if I were entering a struggle that might even be more than life and death. It might be a struggle for my soul, my essence, or whatever part of me might have reference to the eternal. There are worse things than death, I suspected... so far the word demon had never been spoken among the scientists and doctors who were working with me... Alone at night I worried about the legendary cunning of demons... At the very least I was going stark, raving mad” (Tong). Lynn Catoe wrote in a publication compiled by the Library of Congress of the United States entitled UFOs and Related Subjects: An Annotated Bibliography, “Many… UFO reports… recount alleged incidents that are strikingly similar to demon possession and psychic phenomena” (Gleghorn). William Goetz in his book entitled UFOs Friend, Foe, or Fantasy? wrote, “I am prepared to tread the dangerous territory, for I am quite convinced that the evidence reveals UFOs to be demonic.” John Ankerberg and John Weldon in summary of their findings in their booklet “Facts on UFOs and Other Supernatural Phenomena” wrote, “…the fact that all UFO phenomena are consistent with the demonic theory, indicate that this explanation is the best possible answer for the solution to the UFO mystery.” Well-known Christian author David Hunt in a tract entitled “The Cult Explosion” wrote, “UFOs… seem to be demonic manifestations from another dimension, calculated to alter man‟s way of thinking” (Frederick). A former Chief of British Defense Staff, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Hill-Norton, says some UFO encounters are “definitely antithetical to orthodox Christian belief”. Gordon Creighton, a Buddhist and editor of Flying Saucer Review, said, "I do believe that the great bulk of these phenomena are what is called satanic” (Scott).

The similarities between demonic possession and the alien abduction are astounding. First, they usually take place at night or wee hours in the morning. Second, the victims never feel the same way again after being abducted or being possessed. They feel something different inside of them. Third, demons and aliens are both hidden from the public, but they convince their victims that they are real. Fourth, demons and abductors can physically move, control and manipulate the will of their victims (Jennings, Teets). Lastly and most surprisingly, both demons and abductors flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The CE4 Research Group, headed by Joe Jordan, a Mutual UFO Network Field Investigator and author of twelve different books on alien abductions, is a research team that has examined about 350 cases of alien abduction experiences. The group‟s research showed that the experience can be stopped by calling on the name of Jesus Christ. Over 95 people have sent their written and audio testimonies to the group, saying the same thing (Jordan “Alien”). Sergeant Clifford Stone also cited examples of the Greys backing out of abductions because of things related to Jesus Christ. One was about a farmer who kept on praying while aliens tried to abduct him, and the other was about a soldier who wore a crucifix and carried a Bible (Boyajian). Even if the reader were not a Christian, he would surely find it strange that they could not stand in the presence of Jesus Christ. UFO believers explain this bizarre occurrence by saying that aliens like the Greys are not demons posing as extraterrestrials, but they are just the evil and malevolent kind of extraterrestrials who use their knowledge and spiritual advancement for the bad; therefore, being highly spiritual and evil, they somehow behave like demons and depart in fear from a holy figure like Jesus Christ, who extraterrestrials also believe exists. Whatever the case, knowing the harm that the abductors inflict on their victims and the dangerous weapons they provide humans should be enough to convince people that they cannot be trusted and should be avoided. As reported by some contactees, even the good aliens are angry with the Greys because they are tinkering with the genes of humans and traumatizing them when spiritual ascension should be a positive experience (The Lightside “Aliens”).

A Look on the Good Aliens/Angels

While the bad aliens are associated with demons, the good aliens are often called spiritual guides, even angels, by contactees. They treat people with compassion and gentleness, not with cruelty and violence. They offer help to people so that they may grow, not force them by conducting experiments. They teach people how to enter the Age of Aquarius, a time of victory for all of humanity. Their good behavior may seem enough to win the loyalty of people, but as mentioned, they preach teachings about spirituality, which is a sensitive topic because of man‟s lack of sure knowledge about it, so there is no definite way to determine if the good aliens are telling the truth or not. It is easy for people to think that they are telling the truth since they do not gain anything from sharing their messages anyway. They do not benefit in spreading their teachings because they do not ask the contactees for anything in return. Assuming that they do this out of the goodness of their hearts is a quick way to answer why they are supposedly helping humanity. However, just as goodness does not need a reason to do good, evil does not need a reason to do evil either. Could it be that the good aliens have the same evil nature as the bad aliens? If they preach nothing but good things, how could it be? If they treat humans so well, how could it be possible that they intend to do them harm? In Elaina Zuker‟s book, The Seven Secrets of Influence, she wrote, “Power is certainly a form of influence, but it‟s often the least effective. That‟s because when a person relies on power alone to get results, in the long run others are unlikely to cooperate willingly, and mutually beneficial relationships are unlike to form” (Zuker 10). This implies that showing love, warmth and friendliness can influence people more effectively than instigating fear. Truly, the good aliens have come to influence humanity into letting go of their old beliefs and embracing a new one. The question is: is their influence good or bad? Socially, it is good, but spiritually, Christians have many reasons to think not.

First of all, extraterrestrials teach New Age doctrine, so their beliefs immediately contrast the beliefs of Christianity. Aside from that, they confidently say many new things about Jesus Christ that demotes Him as the Savior of mankind, saying that He is simply one of the messengers of God or an ascended being. They also challenge the authenticity of the Bible, saying that it was altered to enslave people into a conservative and patriarchal society. However, they do not totally discourage the contactees from reading it. Actually, they reveal Bible verses that supposedly pertain to extraterrestrials and teach their contactees to search for codes hidden in the original manuscripts (The Lightside “Lea‟s”). In doing this, they can cause many people to ignore the clear and simple message of the Bible and busy themselves with discovering secrets and mysteries, as if their souls need these. Jesus was very critical to this kind of approach to the Scriptures. He once said, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of me. But you are not willing to come to me that you may have life” (Jn 5.39-40 NKJV). There are many other passages that are indirectly against extraterrestrials. This is because the Bible has a firm stand on what it says as truth, being written and compiled not just to present Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation but also to rebuke other doctrine that teaches otherwise, including extraterrestrial teachings.

For example, the Bible is somehow against extraterrestrials‟ way of spiritual enlightenment because it is similar to the first deception which caused the fall of mankind. It is written that the serpent approached Eve and questioned God‟s commandments concerning the fruits from the trees of Eden. The serpent called Him a liar, claiming that Adam and Eve would not die upon eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Instead of dying, the serpent said that they would be like God and their eyes would be opened. This enticed Eve to believe the serpent instead of God. After eating the fruit, Adam and Eve‟s eyes were indeed opened. However, God was not happy at all that they were enlightened because they disobeyed Him. They were driven out of the garden as punishment (Gen 3.1-24). This story has a connection with what is happening now with the extraterrestrials. Extraterrestrials question the Bible which contains God‟s commandments and calls it a book of lies. They say that their method is the way to have people‟s eyes opened and the way to make them be like God. Their method has been working according to the testimonies of many people, but it is written nowhere in the Bible that it is acceptable to God. To address the confusion of the Corinthian church concerning new doctrine sprouting up from among them, Paul once wrote, “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ” (2 Cor 11.3). In this verse, Paul stated that he was worried that Christians might follow other teachings and rituals that were complicated when the way of Christ was simple. Extraterrestrials bring into the picture all sorts of knowledge such as DNA activation, polar shifts, Bible codes, etc. for people to understand spiritual ascension, but all the Bible requires are child-like faith, repentance and loyalty to Jesus Christ.

While the above passages deal with the teachings of extraterrestrials, there are also verses in the Bible which express doubt towards their shady but angelic and benevolent attitude such as, “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God” (Jn 3.20-21). This verse tackles how aliens do not show themselves to the public, considering that they claim to possess the crucial knowledge that can free mankind from destruction. In addition, Paul wrote about those who preach another Jesus which he and the disciples did not preach, saying, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works” (2 Cor 11.13-15). In this verse, Paul pressed that not all those who promote righteousness, specifically those who lead others to a path different from the Bible‟s, are ministers of God; some are ministers of Satan.

Aside from the Bible, spiritual teachers like Jagad Guru have disbelief towards those who encourage people into possessing spiritual abilities, especially psychic powers, and those who say that these are necessary to please God. He said that psychic powers boost people‟s ego, making them less pleasing servants to God. He said that any kind of spiritual awareness that does not strengthen the personal relationship of a person to God is not in any way spiritual gain (Guru). This means that according to Guru‟s beliefs, there is no need for people to ascend spiritually to please God. If this is true, then all the efforts of the extraterrestrials would be in vain, that is, if their true agenda is to really bring people closer to God.

Good and Bad, or Just Plain Bad?

Are extraterrestrials what Paul prophesized would come “according to the workings of Satan with all power, signs and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception” (2 Thess 2.9)? Is their promise of ascension the “strong delusion” brought upon earth because people “did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved” (2 Thess 2.11)? Only time will tell what the roles of the aliens would be on earth. Will they be the saviors of humanity, or will they bring men to their everlasting destruction? Will they even reveal themselves to the world, or will they stay a mystery forever? Whatever the answers may be to these questions, hopefully the reader has been forewarned about what they have allegedly been saying. False beliefs can do as much harm as physical abuse, so people should suspect the “good” aliens as much as they suspect the bad ones. They may be superior to humans, but that does not ensure people that they mean well, especially when it comes to their soul. May the time come when “nothing is secret that shall not be revealed; nor anything hid, that shall not be known and come to light” (Lk 8.17).

Conclusion

Since the ancient times, people have included extraterrestrials in their literature and arts. Even though there is little scientific evidence that intelligence besides humans exists outer space as many scientists hypothesized, people are still interested in finding other beings that are like them. In fact, until now, extraterrestrials are still a big part of modern culture, appearing in several box-office films. Astronomers and UFO enthusiasts do not have to look too far away because extraterrestrial activities like UFO sightings, alien abductions and government dealings thought by many to only happen in science-fiction movies are actually occurring on earth as reported by many reliable witnesses.

In examining their activities, it can clearly be seen that they are not only mentally advanced physical creatures, but they are also spiritually advanced supernatural beings that possess extraordinary psychic powers. From linking the alien abductors' peculiar interest in their abductees' reproductive parts and the extraterrestrials' incredible messages about energy flows, DNA and spirituality, it can be deduced that spiritual ascension through DNA activation has a lot to do with the alien agenda. The increase in Indigo children, Star Seeds and people with psychic abilities these past years seem to point to them as being the results of extraterrestrial manipulations. These people, along with the aliens, are believed by many to be the ones who would assist the rest of humanity towards the Age of Aquarius, the Golden Age of man.

Their plans for mankind may sound good and exciting, but the means of some aliens in helping humans get there is not so noble. Despite being mentally and spiritually advanced, the morality of what many consider as the bad aliens are actually worse than humans‟. Without stating their purpose, they examine their abductees like lab rats and force them to go through sexual intercourses with strangers. Their victims experience negative physical and psychological effects because of these abductions. There is actually a controversy surrounding them in which people have linked the bad aliens with demons, comparing the abductions with possessions. While this cannot be proven, the strange similarities are evidence that they might have an evil nature and thus, evil intentions.

If people call some bad aliens, that means there are also good aliens. These extraterrestrials bring the vision of a perfect world and a perfect society of love, peace and enlightenment. They seek to achieve this by raising the spiritual levels of humans through meditation and other rituals of the New Age religion. Since aside from being superior to humans, they are also advocates of humanism and advancement, many people might quickly believe everything that they say, even about them needing to spiritually ascend. People might easily forget about their old beliefs and run after new ones without even thinking. They might put too much value in unnecessary knowledge and overlook the true purpose and will of God in their lives. Extraterrestrials preach a new doctrine, so people should be careful and “test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 Jn 4.1).

Having revealed all this, this research urges everyone to stand strong in his own beliefs if he knows that he is right. If extraterrestrials start proclaiming to the public their teachings, they will surely shake the faith of many and catch many by surprise, so it is essential to reveal these to people to prepare them for the beliefs that contradict theirs. Educating themselves with doctrine is helpful because as many know, people are deceived because of lack of understanding. Also, through prayer, knowing personally their God, His words, His plans and His ways are of great importance because how can they discern what is true and what is false if they do not know what their God is like?

Relationships

...[pic] Christian Relationships Unit 1: Worship 1. Preliminary concerns 1.1. Misconceptions about worship The first popular misconception is that ‘worship is singing’. We treat ‘worship’ and ‘singing praises’ as synonymous terms. We speak as if they are the same thing. To reduce worship to singing is to dilute the biblical concept of worship in a way that is grossly irresponsible. It reduces the richness of biblical worship to one of its components. Yet when many Christians today commonly speak about worship, they mean nothing more than ‘singing’. |When you think or speak of worship, do you automatically associate it with ‘singing worship songs’? Is this the common usage| |in your church? If so, how do you think this fault crept into your vocabulary? | | | There are probably many ways this misconception has crept into our language and our thought. One key factor is that we have tended to label Christian music as ‘worship’, and we often call the person who leads the singing in our churches ‘the worship leader’. Unfortunately, this has caused us to equate worship with singing. A second misconception is that ‘worship is something we do on special occasions’. Worship is what we do when we gather with God’s people. The activities that make...

Bloodlines of the Illuminati

...Bloodlines of Illuminati by: Fritz Springmeier, 1995 Introduction: I am pleased & honored to present this book to those in the world who love the truth. This is a book for lovers of the Truth. This is a book for those who are already familiar with my past writings. An Illuminati Grand Master once said that the world is a stage and we are all actors. Of course this was not an original thought, but it certainly is a way of describing the Illuminati view of how the world works. The people of the world are an audience to which the Illuminati entertain with propaganda. Just one of the thousands of recent examples of this type of acting done for the public was President Bill Clinton’s 1995 State of the Union address. The speech was designed to push all of the warm fuzzy buttons of his listening audience that he could. All the green lights for acceptance were systematically pushed by the President’s speech with the help of a controlled congressional audience. The truth on the other hand doesn’t always tickle the ear and warm the ego of its listeners. The light of truth in this book will be too bright for some people who will want to return to the safe comfort of their darkness. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I deal with real facts, not theory. Some of the people I write about, I have met. Some of the people I expose are alive and very dangerous. The darkness has never liked the light. Yet, many of the secrets of the Illuminati are locked up tightly simply because secrecy is a way...

Patanjali Yoga Sutra

...The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Introduction, Commentaries, and Translation What are the Yoga Sutras and who is Patanjali? Over fifty different English translations of the Yoga Sutras are extant, standing as a human testament to how Universal Truth is celebrated in terms of a rich diversity. Rather than the common and external type of knowledge (emanating from book knowledge), the following translation and commentary are a result of an intimate familiarity and direct experience both with an authentic yogic tradition and with western culture, psychology, and language that has been refined, tested in fire, and integrated for over thirty five years of intense practice (sadhana). This work is dedicated toward revealing the universal message of authentic yoga that the sage, Patanjali, first wrote down approximately 2000 years ago. Patanjali is not the inventor of yoga, but rather yoga's most popularly known scribe. What has become known simply as the "Yoga Sutras" (sutra means thread) or almost equally as common, as the "Yoga Darshana" (the vision of Yoga), is actually a compendium of an ancient pre-existing oral yoga tradition consisting of both practical advice and theoretical context. The most accepted format of the Yoga Sutras consists of four chapters (called padas) written in the Sanskrit language approximately 2000 years ago in Northern India while utilizing the terminology of the time, i.e., Samkhya philosophical trappings. The dates ascribed to the Yoga Sutras...

The premises and conclusions built and reached in this paper are products of the researcher’s serious analysis of the Philippine economic situation. The researcher, however, is praying that his objectivity and the sincerity of his language shall not fail him in his own humble attempt to bring this mini-thesis to its just and proper course and closure. The twin causes formulated in this paper are generally subdivided into two: the concept of economic will (policy system of governance) and the concept of economic ownership (property system of the governed). Further reading is advised on critical and related topics of this paper. For the economy, these words: there is no such thing as the co-existence of freedom and equality.
