ED101 7:45 By the age of 18, you have had experience with a large spectrum of teachers both good and bad. Teachers have a huge impact on children regardless of what age group they teach. One quality that all good teachers have is the ability to keep learning even when they are teachers. Education is always making advances in many ways. My high school science teacher was good at always looking for new ways to teach physics to get students to understand better. Whether it would be trying a new lab or looking online for better examples, she was willing to make that effort to get all of her students to fully understand the material. Another quality is you have to love what you do. Students can tell if you dislike a certain subject almost making them not interested in learning it. To be a great teacher you must have a passion for learning no matter if it is your favorite subject or not. If you love what you do you will go above and beyond to ensure that all of your students are successful. Good teachers make personal sacrifices of time and effort on a daily basis. A good teacher communicates. Whether it is with other teachers, parents or just with the class, communication is a huge part of teaching. Dedicated teachers make sure everyone is informed with the proper information. Without communication the classroom can be a very stressful and hectic situation. Often when there is lack of communication students and teachers are frustrated. The more you communicate the better network you create. A network in the teaching world is the connection made between people such as parents, principals from other schools, the superintendent and so on. Organization is another key part of teaching.
