The three browsers that I would be speaking of are Mozilla Firefox , Google Chrome and Opera.
These three browsers are the main browsers on the market at the present point in time they are all used world wide and are used by millions each between themselves as individual browsers. They are all supportive of cross platform use Windows Os , Mac Os and Linux Os and can also be used on portable devices such as tablets and cell phones.
Opera being the older of the three has been around for quite some time in fact since 1994 when it was started as a research project at Telenor a Norwegian telecommunications company. In 1995, the project branched out into a separate company named Opera Software ASA, and launched a version in 1996.Opera has made many upgrades since then, and introduced notable features such as Speed Dial.
The Opera browser was named MultiTorg up until version 2.0 and was not available to the public. Opera was known for its multiple document interface (MDI) and 'hotlist' (sidebar), which made browsing several pages at once much easier as with the other 2 browsers Mozilla and Chrome
In February 2013, Opera Software announced that their proclaimed rendering engine, Presto, would be phased out in favour of WebKit which is carried also by Mozilla and Chrome.[4] Opera 15 saw the browser being fully rewritten, with this and subsequent releases being based on Blink and Chromium Os.
Even with as many features carried Opera browser is recommended for slower and earlier operating system use such as Window XP.
Mozilla Firefox was a project was created by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross as an experimental branch of the Mozilla browser and has been since one of the worlds most famous and favourite web browsers to date supporting its many formats and powered by the power house search engine Google it has made its way across many platforms and has no really major competitor.
Firstly named Phoenix this name had to be changed because of a trademark dispute with the BIOS manufacturer, Phoenix Technologies (which produces a BIOS-based browser called Phoenix FirstWare Connect). Then released with a new name, Firebird, which met with mixed reactions, as there was the Firebird database server already carrying that name. In response, the Mozilla Foundation stated that the browser should always bear the name Mozilla Firebird to avoid confusion with the database software. Continuing pressure from the Firebird community forced another change, and on February 9, 2004 the project was renamed Mozilla Firefox (or Firefox for short).
Firefox has been known for it’s rapid release rate and for many add ons and support of excellent streaming.
How ever as fast and as this browser is user friendly there are flaws space usage on hard disk is an issue and the fact that the many add ons slow the process down even faster .So other browsers such as the Opera and the Chrome are known to perform better at start up and tend to refresh faster than Mozilla.
Last and not least the Chrome browser ,Chrome is a Linux based Os browser designed by Power house Google known worldwide and used on many platforms. Chrome has been known for its user friendly approach to the user all buttons are easily accessible and can be used by both young and old. Chrome was released in June 15, 2011, when "Chromebooks" from Samsung put it as their first browser. Chrome was an instant hit and took of boasting the Google Search engine which was at first powering the Mozilla Firefox browser so this was 2 browsers powered by Google. Chrome was not only a browser but said to be an Operating system as well which gave it many advantages on competitors and was set to take over Mozilla as the main Google product, However Chrome encountered many problems working on some Operating systems because of code interference and has been known to have crashes when running multiple tabs .
Google currently has open Chrome to the world where developers can enter and manipulate many of their codes as a open source software in an effort to try to have a browser which is developed by the people for the people no other browser can boast this to date.
