Around the ages of fifty to sixty, the average person starts to reflect on their life and think about their regrets and the things they wish could be taken back. People tend to become depressed because it seems as their life is close to ending and it gives this trapped feeling. People of this age typically act abnormally in their everyday life. With this comes crisis within the elderly people’s lives. Adult themes usually involve life review and this life crisis that relate to sickness and occasional instances of epic courage. An adventure writing,such as “Alice and Alf Prolusions,” is a story where both the elderly and the young can relate to similar things. There’s many positive examples where gaining characters are located within literature that the young readers can relate to. For some readers, the older characters are now playing as healing roles. This way of writing was actually brought back for the very reason that it was created for the children in the nineteenth century. The older characters weren’t dominating the story plot, but were subordinates to the children’s heroes. Also, writers are now catching older readers attention by giving them stories about older problems that are not resolvable in order to give them something that they to can relate to.
