There is a certain way beauty is portrayed in society. Makeup, slim figure, hair, and the right clothes are beauty, and If we don’t meet the standards of society, we aren’t good enough right? We should do what ever it takes to meet these standards, but why? In the music video, “Try,” by Colbie Cailat, women realize they do not need society’s approval, and they do not need to ,”try,” as long as they like themselves. The most important thing is that they like themselves. Women should not be categorized or compared by their outer appearance.

They were look down upon because their job was ,”dirty.” Present day stereotypes about Chinese people are that they have small eyes, they are cheap, and they are good at math. Some present day Mexican stereotypes are that they are lazy, drunks, and they only eat tacos and burritos. However, all these stereotypes people use to judge others because of the color of their skin is not natural. It is categorizing someone based on their outter appearance and has nothing to do with their work ethic, their moral values, who they are, or their character. People have no right to judge others from ignorance. This is related to the music video I chose to analyze because women are
