The International Literature and Culture Exhibition
0 The Ministry of Culture organised a two-day exhibition of International Literature and Culture. The government sponsored this idea to promote international knowledge and understanding. Three societies focused on researching and collecting examples of world culture and literature with particular reference to traditional folktales. The chosen countries were India, China and Indonesia. The three societies had to research information about the designated country (climate, geography, history and traditions), prepare an exhibition booth and give an oral presentation about it. 0 The event or the three exhibitions took place at the University of Balamand. One of the three societies that participated was called ‘’A Journey to India’’. The team members talked about the food (Biryani, Muruku, Chekkalu), geography, religions and traditions. The second society was called ‘’The Chinese Cultural Society’’. They mentioned China’s climate, history and festivals (Dragon festival). The last society was ‘’The Heritage Society of Indonesia’’. They talked about Indonesia’s national language which is Banasa. They also said that Indonesia is an Island stretching along the equator in South East Asia. 0 Secondly, the three societies were invited to participate in the popular event by exhibiting a three dimensional display. The display of ‘’A journey to India’’ was clear and simple. For instance, there were few items. The colors of the display helped to set moods. They put Indian music as a background to the exhibition. The display of the “The Chinese Cultural Society’’ was attractive and well-organised. For example, each topic

A Personal Reflection Of My Writing Experiences

...This is my writing experiences and history. I started with creative writing which I never completed and for school and then writing an essay on a subject which I just read a book on for homeschooling. When there was a deadline I always got it finished and as quick as possible and then making sure there is no grammar or spelling mistakes. My biggest weakness is that I procrastinate and will not sometimes finish a project. I will get anything done on time if there is a set deadline but otherwise will not usually get finished. My approach to English assignments is to get an idea, and then get it written or typed down, and then work on the grammar and spelling, and look for any missed punctuation. I spell much better than I did years ago from...

Argumentative Essay: Handwriting Without Tears

...Handwriting Without Tears Writing is something that can start up the brain like nothing else, even in this great time of e-mails, texts and tweet. To write in cursive is basically now a gift because of how much we use our electronics. Cursive handwriting can start up the brain between the left and right sides, something absent from printing and typing. The College Board found that students who wrote in cursive for the essay portion of the test scored higher than those who printed. As a result, writing makes you very smart. A few years ago, the College Board found that students who wrote, in cursive for the essay size of the test scored bit higher than those who wrote, which experts think is because the speed of writing in cursive allowed...

Your thesis should be a big idea that you have about the book. Make it something interesting and worthwhile. It could be about issues or themes brought up in the book, about the literary elements (language, characters, plot, etc.), or an opinion you have about the book. Remember your essay will need to “prove” your thesis. Create a rough outline for your essay. You need two or three body paragraphs. 5. Write a rough draft of your essay, skipping lines or typed double-spaced. 6. Inquiry

... Inquiry Paper The exploratory essay is an account of inquiry. Your goal is to share the experience of questioning your opinions and the arguments of others on your chosen topic. The paper will be a journey with a starting point, a tour of viewpoints on the issue, and a destination, a claim you can defend. The essay has three parts, one written before inquiry, the other two written after. In this informal paper, you will refer to yourself and your own thoughts and experiences. Write in first person. Here is an overview of the paper: In Part I, you will tell what question or issue interests you most about a given topic and express your initial opinion. Part II will be the exploration itself. The point is to open the question and keep it open, testing your opinions and exploring the issue through conversations and research that connect you to a range of expert opinions. You are not trying to support your initial opinion but to test it. You’ll write about readings that confirm and contradict your thinking and evaluate these arguments fairly. Part III, the conclusion, will be a statement of your thinking after the inquiry, an explanation of the truth as you now see it. Think of exploration as the process of arriving at a claim. Hint: Look for a topic in your editorials, the readings, your own life experiences. Select something you are interested in finding out more about. The paper will be 2-3 pp. (pages) typed using 2-3 sources, MLA format and worth...

Research Paper On Barcelona Beach

...Before I started writing, multiple ideas rushed in my mind. I have quite a few places that evoke certain feelings, and/or that hold very special memories of mine. All of these places actually revolved around an natural source of water. After seeking guidance, I decided to write about my favorite beach, where I created mountains full of memories there. I have been going to Barcelona Beach for fourteen years, but I tried to limit my personal experiences to emphasise the private aspect of my Barcelona. I developed my essay to deliver the strongest use of imagery, I could. To fully influence readers to agree with my thesis, I used very vivid descriptive words to appeal to the reader’s senses. Throughout the entire paper, I tried to explain how...

How to Write an Eassay

...1.01 How to write an essay General Advice Start early As soon as you are given an essay question, begin your thinking. If you don't, you might miss useful information whilst doing other research. The television and radio often have programmes on topical issues which could be of use - if you don't already have some ideas for your essay you could miss their usefulness. It is similar to the process when you learn a new word: because you have actually looked it up, it then seems to appear more often. This is because you become more sensitive to it - the same will happen with your essay subject. Starting early also gives you the opportunity to draft and redraft your essay, talk to someone else about it and get it typed up and ready to hand in on time. If you do your essay the night before it is due in, it shows! Collecting the material It is important to collect information that is relevant. How? It is all too easy to dash to the library, collect a huge pile of books and then browse aimlessly. You might learn something, but you won't get your essay done. The best place to start is by quickly jotting down what you already know about the question: you will probably know more than you realise. It helps to get you thinking about the topic and may also give you some ideas to follow up. Purposeful reading You need to adopt a strategic method: in order to read purposefully, formulate a set of questions before you begin reading. As you read, more specific questions...

English 111 Reflection

...An example of a big improvement was my rhetorical essay for The American Dream. My first attempt was not good at all, since I summarized it instead of doing what I was supposed to do. I received a seventy-five on it and, in contrast, I got a ninety-five on my second attempt. To get there, I went to the writing center twice, and redid my outline for which I got advice from Dr. Kennedy on how to improve it. Using the outline made the MEAL plan easier for me whenever I typed my body paragraphs. Unfortunately, my work schedule did not allow me to visit the writing center for my argumentative essay, but meeting with Dr. Kennedy who gave me constructive criticism helped me write a better essay. I also used the PaperRater to check for errors in my paper, and I plan on using it for this one also. I doubted my writing skills at the beginning of class, but I am sure I progressed over time with my writing...
