` Finagle a Bagel approaches social responsibility with extremely high regard. For a company to do this, they top level of management has to establish a healthy working attitude and culture as well as a clear example for other employees to follow. Both the co-presidents (Laura and Alan) said that they never take a vacation and will always answer the phone even if they are going out to eat at night (video). The Presidents also say that they get complimented on their customer service which shows that Finagle a Bagel have set high standards that its employees should follow. This shows that finagle a Bagel is employing the formal organizational dimension of ethical compliance. Ethical compliance is the extent to which members of the organization follow basic ethic and legal standards of behavior (Griffin 40). The company also uses Philanthropic Giving which is awarding of funds or gifts to charities or other social programs (Griffin 41). Service Charity is an extremely important to Finagle a Bagel. The bakery donates food to volunteer and support groups all over Boston (Chapter 2 video handout). Every night, the company gives the left over materials that they did not use to charities as well as setting up events like The Children’s Garden, which is a free music show for kids (video).
