The researchers collected information for the subjects at four different periods over the course of the study. The group of subjects used in this research is comprised of Puerto Ricans and African-Americans in an urban environment. The basic hypothesis of this research is that there is a traceable and predictable pattern of behavior exhibited by the subjects in the study as they progressed from adolescence into adulthood.
