The Greasers see the Socials as a threat because of the Socials’ constant acts of violence, and the tension between the groups significantly increase. Johnny Cade was caught in the middle of the battle between the groups. Johnny was of the few whom fell victim to the abuse of the Socials. When he takes the abuse, Johnny thinks he is not important and looks at the world differently than other people. Before Johnny joined the Greasers, he thought his only value was to be the continuously “kicked puppy”. In S.E.
