Facing and overcoming a moral dilemma truly advances the entertainment of a story. In the Ox-Bow Incident by, Walter Van Tilburg Clark all of the characters need to decide whether they should put the law in their own hands or leave it up to the law. Clark extended this argument for an entire chapter to try to create more suspense and, to help the readers recognize the different perspectives of the people. The lengthened back and forth creates a very entertaining story; however, most authors cannot create an argumentative scene to last a quarter of the story.
