I believe that Cheever could have accomplished and provided more than what was done by him. Due to the fact that Cheever was promoted to clerk for the court, Cheever could have justified many people he had done wrong. He had sentenced many innocent people to death while having a lack of information on the good people of Salem. Due to his negative intent, many people were killed or sentenced to unlawful imprisonment. While he knew that Elizabeth was a good person, he still carried out the warrant with Marshal Herrick. Cheever also accuses Elizabeth of witchcraft for Mary's poppet having a needle to injure Abigail.
