The assassination of president John Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1963 took the nation by shock, as well as confusion. He, the first lady, governor Connally and his wife rode through Dallas (Texas) one afternoon as crowds of people watched them; overwhelmed with happiness that would soon turn into grief. As they went through Dealey Plaza, shots were fired at their moving vehicle - 2 of which hit the president. Soon after, Mr. Kennedy was pronounced dead. But who is it that was responsible for this tragedy? Lee Harvey Oswald, without a doubt, had some type of involvement with the killing of JFK. There is more than enough evidence pointing out how he was there in Dealey Plaza and how he was in control of the fired shots at the time. Because of the relations

Jfk Assassination

...F. Kennedy Assassination On November 22, 1963 President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for the murder. It is believed that Lee Harvey Oswald was not the only one involved with the crime. There are countless theories on how President Kennedy was murdered. Some of the theories include the FBI, CIA, and the mob being involved. The Warren commission said that they believe that it was solely Lee Harvey Oswald who killed President Kennedy. Most of the evidence shows that Lee Harvey Oswald could not be the only one involved. John F. Kennedy was the fourth United States President to be assassinated. Even today, there remains tremendous debate on who was responsible for the murder of Kennedy. The assassination of President Kennedy has started many different conspiracy theories about who was involved with the murder. President Kennedy wanted to travel to Dallas, Texas to help strengthen his vote for the upcoming election and also to gain more Democratic Party members. Before Kennedy went on the trip there was some concern about a sniper being on top of a building. President Kennedy also made comments before he was killed about his safety in a convertible car. The car President Kennedy was driving in was a 1963 Lincoln Continental open top limo. Sergeant Davis of the Dallas police department was the one who made sure the city was secure whenever any President or foreign leader came to Dallas. The secret service agent who was responsible...

How Did John F. Kennedy Have A Positive Impact On America?

...Perspectives of JFK John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States of America, who was shortly assassinated before he completed his third year in presidency. Kennedy’s presidency mainly consisted on managing relations with the Soviet Union, serving speeches for fellow citizens, and having an impact on the Civil Rights Bill. John F. Kennedy’s presidential actions led to the people having two perspectives of him. John F. Kennedy had quite a positive and negative effect on the citizens of America. People consider their views of John F. Kennedy to be either a pro-Kennedy liberal, or an anti-Kennedy revisionist. It is interesting how Kennedy seems to have an equal proportion to both pro-Kennedy liberal, and anti-Kennedy revisionist...

Jfk Assassination

...JFK Assassination: Are the Conspiracies Accurate? In 1976, the US Senate ordered a fresh inquiry into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, who was murdered in 1963 during a motorcade in Dallas, Texas while campaigning for re-election. People who had been involved in the original Warren Commission investigations were asked to make fresh statements. The FBI and the CIA were persuaded to release more of their documents on Oswald. New lines of inquiry were opened and individuals who had not previously given evidence were persuaded to come forward. Most important of all, pieces of evidence such as photos and sound recordings were subjected to scientific analysis using the most up-to-date methods and equipment. The House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) completed their investigation in 1979 and they finally came to a discrete verdict that Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots at Kennedy, one of which killed the president. A fourth shot was fired from the grassy knoll, which was contradictory to the statement printed by the Warren Commission 16 years earlier. However, the HSCA could not determine who the second gunman was, and how he was in relation to Oswald. If the Warren Committee had been thorough and not corrupt the first time, the second investigation would never have been necessary. However, because of government negligence and corruption, we still to this day do not know who really killed President Kennedy.        The public became more interested in the...

Jfk Extension History Essay

...JFK Essay “History is concerned with neither the past by itself nor with the historian’s thoughts about it by itself, but the two in mutual relations. All history is the history of thought.” Discuss the validity of Collingwood’s view on history, in reference to your case study. The past and the way the historian is able to interpret the past is the true nature of history. Collingwood’s view on history has merit, as it is the combination of the two that constitutes history. This is extremely evident in the variety of interpretations that have emerged through the study of President John F. Kennedy. Three particular historians, Theodore Sorenson, Seymour Hersh and Michael O’Brien, all construct ‘unique’ accounts of JFK’s Presidency particularly in his relations with Khrushchev (1961-1963) and his management of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 to become solid examples of the importance of the historian in creating the history. All search for ‘the truth’ about Kennedy, using a variety of methodologies to come to different conclusions about his presidency. Context is also key in evaluating the both the historian and his work as it is reflected through his aims and purposes. Without a thorough examination of the historian, the history cannot be understood. The historian thus becomes the third element of the construction of history. Theodore Sorenson’s 1965 work, Kennedy argues a consensus view of history, attempting to “glorify” his place within America History. As a close...

...Martin Luther King was shot and was killed tonight in Memphis, Tennessee.” Robert F. Kennedy delivered this news in his speech “Remarks on the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.” to a predominately black crowd in Indianapolis on April 4th, 1968, only one day after King delivered his final speech in which he gave hope to his supporters of a promise land where injustice and inequality did not exist, in a time when there was more divisiveness in America than in almost any point in history (Spong, 809). Despite riots ensuing in major cities all over the country and a Negro gang in Indianapolis, known as the “Ten Percenters,” scouring the neighborhood gathering militant support...

Impact of Us Foreign Policy on the Vietnam War

...for the United States, as well as the terms of three presidents: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon. When U.S. involvement in the war began under Kennedy, it was originally put out as a plan for the United States to only aid the South Vietnamese, but, after his assassination, Johnson was put in charge. The path that the war took under Johnson was filled with controversy and large numbers of casualties. When Johnson did not run for a second term, Nixon was left in charge to ultimately turn things around. Soon, all of the American troops were removed from Vietnam, and the war slowly began to come to a close. But what was it about Nixon’s foreign policy that was so much more successful than Johnson’s? Was Nixon’s policy more closely related to Kennedy’s successful strategy than Johnson’s was, and, if so, why didn’t Johnson do a better job modeling his policy after Kennedy? These are all questions that political scientists still look at today as a way to solve the many questions that are still being posed about the war. I have looked deeply into these questions, and found answers through researching the history of Vietnam as well as the three presidents. As I read about each event that unfolded, it became clear to me why there were such drastic differences involving their results. Before the election of President Kennedy, the United States was led by President Eisenhower. Kennedy did a good job continuing his predecessor’s policies of avoiding military...

The Abcs of Terrorism

...I wish you had taught when you had the chance at WVSC. Many books have led me to many conclusions that you may or may not be aware of. The one you wanted the title of the last time we talked seriously is: Was the CIA involved in the JFK assassination? by Mark Lane. It has the info about how the CIA tried to kill Fidel Castro that you referred to once in class, except it was his wife, not a 16 year old, that was going to poison him. The CIA had told her he was cheating on her. Mark Lane is an attorney who managed Kennedy's New York campaign in 1960 when he was running for President. He is still alive in Virginia, in Charlottesville. You can find his address with 411locate.com. Amazingly, it turns out that the US hired 1000s of SS/Gestapo after the World War to spy in the USSR. Allen Dulles was responsible and the Vatican helped smuggle these Nazis into the US, saying that they were not Nazis, just extremely anti-communist. There are two books: The General was a Spy, referring to Hitler's master spy Reinhard Gehlen who was given $200 million dollars when he landed in NY by the Chase bank which he used to activate an army of spies within the Soviet Union. Generally, those journalists do a competent job of reporting on the prospect’s record. In the case of Governor George W. Bush, Texas reporters had written numerous stories about his failed businesses in the oil patch, the dubious land grab and questionable funding behind a new stadium for Bush’s baseball team, the Texas Rangers, and his various political contradictions and hypocrisies while serving in Austin. I was one of those Texas journalists. I spent about a decade trying to find accurate information on Bush’s record in the Texas National Guard. My curiosity...

Bloodlines of the Illuminati

...Bloodlines of Illuminati by: Fritz Springmeier, 1995 Introduction: I am pleased & honored to present this book to those in the world who love the truth. This is a book for lovers of the Truth. This is a book for those who are already familiar with my past writings. An Illuminati Grand Master once said that the world is a stage and we are all actors. Of course this was not an original thought, but it certainly is a way of describing the Illuminati view of how the world works. The people of the world are an audience to which the Illuminati entertain with propaganda. Just one of the thousands of recent examples of this type of acting done for the public was President Bill Clinton’s 1995 State of the Union address. The speech was designed to push all of the warm fuzzy buttons of his listening audience that he could. All the green lights for acceptance were systematically pushed by the President’s speech with the help of a controlled congressional audience. The truth on the other hand doesn’t always tickle the ear and warm the ego of its listeners. The light of truth in this book will be too bright for some people who will want to return to the safe comfort of their darkness. I am not a conspiracy theorist. I deal with real facts, not theory. Some of the people I write about, I have met. Some of the people I expose are alive and very dangerous. The darkness has never liked the light. Yet, many of the secrets of the Illuminati are locked up tightly simply because secrecy is a way...

As It Goes

...him "how he dares molest the sea." "How dare you molest the whole world?" the pirate replied: "Because I do it with a little ship only, I am called a thief; you, doing it with a great navy, are called an Emperor." The pirate's answer was "elegant and excellent," St. Augustine relates. It captures with some accuracy the current relations between the United States and various minor actors on the stage of international terrorism: Libya, factions of the PLO, and others. More generally, St. Augustine's tale illuminates the meaning of the concept of international terrorism in contemporary Western usage, and reaches to the heart of the frenzy over selected incidents of terrorism currently being orchestrated, with supreme cynicism, as a cover for Western violence. The term "terrorism" came into use at the end of the eighteenth century, primarily to refer to violent acts of governments designed to ensure popular submission. That concept plainly is of little benefit to the practitioners of state terrorism, who, holding power, are in a position to control the system of thought and expression. The original sense has therefore been abandoned, and the term "terrorism" has come to be applied mainly to "retail terrorism" by individuals or groups.1 Whereas the term was once applied to emperors who molest their own subjects and the world, now it is restricted to thieves who molest the powerful -...
