This is reflected by the tremendous activity in the public and private sector to better understand the myriad of cyber challenges, identifying existing gaps and needs and closing these gaps as quickly and firmly as possible through government policy initiatives, public/private partnerships, and legal/insurance penalty and incentive regimes. However when we examine the academic literature, the research and publications in this area are rather sparse. Consequently, this special issue on Security in the Cyber Supply Chain is intended to act as a resource to practitioners and as a call to research. & 2014 Published by Elsevier Ltd. ...1. Zara’s Business and Operating Model: Zara is the most profitable brand of Inditex and in 2003 is contributing to 73.3% of group sales. Its business model is developed on short deadlines, small quantities and rapidly changing trends. Zara links back end production to front end retailing run by adapting to changing customer demands rapidly. Zara never produces “classics”, all of their fashion is trendy, they follow three main concepts a) The customer buys immediately as the current stock will run out b) The customers visit the store often as new fashion emerges quickly c) The clothes are relatively cheap as they are not meant to last. The simple factor that makes this possible is the decentralization of decision making for each store; the decision of what is needed lies with the store managers as they are closer to the market. People known as ”commercials” in La Coruna hold the final decision the business of what goes into production. Commercials decide which clothes will be designed and produced. The team usually consists of two designers and two managers, who purchase material, place production orders with factories, and set prices. A set of people known as store product managers mobilize the business; they study the market for emerging trends and communicate the same to the in-house designers. They act as a liaising force between store to store transfers when they see slow moving garments of one region have a greater demand in another region. La Coruna also...

...Descriptive Statistics University of Phoenix July 18, 2011 RES/341 Descriptive Statistics In the previous weeks we researched the issues that have been affecting the real estate business; such as home prices in which are making it difficult for homes to sale. The current issues that are affecting the housing market in today’s society have to do with homes being over priced due to size, location, and square footage. In the past weeks Learning Team C had to research the problems in the housing market to determine the reasons why homes that are similar in size tend to be more expensive than others and the factors that go into these prices. The research problem that Learning Team C encountered has to do with looking at: 1. Price, 2. Bedrooms, 3. Size, 4. Pool, 5. Distance, 6. Township, 7. Garage, and 8. Baths, to determine why some of the listed homes are more expensive than others homes in the area. In week three we turned the research over to researching peer-reviewed articles to get an even clearer picture of the whole aspect of real estate, which included; faulty work from appraisers, estimating value of homes, and how size play a major role in the price of a home. Moving on into week four, Learning Team C will evaluate all the data from the previous weeks and draw a conclusion based on all current research finding of why similar homes tend to be more expensive than others. Frequency Distribution The following graphics and data analysis will identify the factors...

...Business as usual for state government can no longer be the norm; therefore, traditional structures which are being assessed and evaluated to be suitable for the 21 century. It is thought that state government has been known to do things out of tradition rather than out of necessity which has to change. The states have faced budgetary shortfall that make it necessary to re-direct efforts more in communicating more effectively. The Motor Vehicle Administration has embarked on becoming an organization that is no longer known as just a bureaucratic government for the state. The many opportunities that the organization faces have to do with the filtering of information. The Administration always provides the guidelines that are necessary but the process that is involve in communication makes it ambiguous in levels of understanding. The MVA has to use alternative ways to communicate more effectively which will help with the flow of communication with the organization structure as described by Morgan models. Gareth Morgan developed six models that an organization uses based on its functionality. The MVA can adapt to two of these models one of which it already uses and that is communicating from top to bottom involving managerial control. This communication style has worked for the MVA for years efficiently and effectively. The socially constructed reality is that communication is changing and expectations are higher. The development of creating project teams to handle the issues...

...Running head: SHOULD CAPITAL PUNISHMENT CONTINUE TO BE A PART OF THE U.S. JUSTICE SYSTEM? Should Capital Punishment Continue to be a Part of the U.S. Justice System? Siddiqui Carter Research Process Outline Paper University of Phoenix RES 341 Dr. Frank Poter January 1, 2005 Week 2 Should Capital Punishment Continue to be a Part of the U.S. Justice System? Capital punishment has long been a part of the American criminal justice system and the topic has created much debate on if this punishment is appropriate for the U. S. society. Many believe capital punishment is a necessary punishment for those who commit capital offenses and acts as a deterrent to violent criminals. Essentially, Americans that support the death penalty believe that it contributes to the overall wellbeing of U. S. society. Activists still desire to eliminate the punishment. Though, this country’s founding fathers broke away from England they did not completely disagree with everything they believed. When it came down to capital punishment, they adopted it from British common law. Even as history is reviewed, debate over capital punishment can be seen as far back as the American Revolution Debates over capital punishment continued from the Civil War until the 1960’s. During this period some states abolished and later reinstated the death penalty, but from 1968 to 1976, due to public out cry, no executions took place in the U.S. In 1972 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the death...

...Data Collection Paper (MLB) Laura L. Mason, Becky Matlock, and Nichole Noble RES/341 June 8, 2011 David Morrisson Data Collection Paper (MLB) Data collection is an important part of research and it requires that the right information be collected. Because of many types of data research it is imperative to make sure the data collected is present in the final analysis. This data can be shown in different formats such a graphical or tabular. Team A has chosen the Major League Baseball (MLB) data set and feels the population and the type of data collected will provide good resources for surveys to make informed decisions. Team A will review the types of ways data can be shown as well as some of the ethical issues that researchers may run into. Our research involves looking at the 30 MLB teams in how the statistics vary. The data set is a accumulation of information that includes what league they are in, the year of erection of each stadium, capacity of each stadium, salary of the team, wins for the season, batting average, attendance, earned run average (ERA), stolen bases (SB), and home runs (HR). The sample for this research topic is very sufficient. It includes all the teams in the league and portrays the same information for all of the teams. The population (teams) and the categories listed in the data set will provide Team A the information to complete our research into...

...“COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN BRITANIA & PARLE - G BISCUIT” INTRODUCTION [pic] Biscuit is a kind of crisp, dry bread product that, if leavened, is usually made with a chemical leavener. The exact meaning varies markedly in different parts of the world. The origin of the word "biscuit" is from Latin via Middle French and means "cooked twice," hence biscotti in Medieval Italian (similar to the German Zwieback, and still present in Dutch "beschuit"). In modern Italian usage the term biscotti is used to refer to any type of cookie or cracker. Some of the original biscuits were British naval hard tack; such hard tack was made in the United States through the 19th century. Throughout most of the world, the term biscuit still means a hard, crisp, brittle bread, except in the USA and Canada, where it now denotes a softer bread product baked only once. Biscuits derive its name from a French word meaning twice backed bread; Biscuits in general have a good shelf life, which is higher than all other snack items available in the market. A biscuit is a hard baked sweet or savory product like a small, flat cake, which in North America may be called a "cookie" or "cracker". The term biscuit also applies to sandwich-type biscuits, where a layer of 'cream' or icing is sandwiched between two biscuits. In the UK, "cookie" is usually only used in specific terms such as "chocolate chip cookie" or to refer to larger, softer...

...Whitners Autoplex Prices Differ from the National Average Team D RES 341 April 18, 2012 Dr. Leroy Paul Whitners Autoplex Prices Differ from the National Average Intro Research Process Consumers purchase new vehicles for many reasons: practicality, functionality, or as a status symbol. Trying to fill that need, Whitners Autoplex is an auto dealer that sells import and domestic automobiles (Lind, Marchal & Wathen, 2008). Buyers, ages 20 to 59, have purchased vehicles at Whitners. Team D, after reviewing the provided data, knows that over the past couple years the car dealer’s average selling price for an automobile was $22,000. Team D’s null hypothesis states that the selling prices in the data set remain unchanged from the established $22,000 average. However, Team D has faith that its alternate hypothesis that the average has changed will prevail. The following will provide the purpose of the research, problem definition, research hypothesis, and a look ahead to the following weeks concerning the study. Using historic and current data, Team D intends to prove the $22,000 average price of a car has changed, and most likely increased due to many factors. If Team D’s alternate hypothesis proves true, then Whitners Autoplex has been charging far more less than surrounding, or even nationwide, auto dealers. Knowing the average cost of a vehicle is important to auto dealers because profit is what allows a business to prosper and grow...

...Is asexuality a lack of sexual orientation and analogous to other sexual orientations and identities? One of the most inescapable social assumptions is that all humans possess sexual desire (Cole, 1993; 192). A related assumption is that sexuality is not only something one does, but an identity or something one is (Weeks, 1986; Foucault, 1978, cited in Scherrer, 2008; 621). Most inquiries into asexuality have approached it as either behaviour (lack of sexual acts) or a lack of desire for sexual acts. However, Scherrer argues that the complexity and variability of asexuality also encompasses those who are interested in romantic attachment but with limited or no physical contact, along with others who are simply not interested in sex (Scherrer, 2008: 634), a discourse appears frequently in which self-identified asexuals participate. It is in this context where identity labels such as demisexual, hyposexual, romantic or aromantic asexual, hyporomantic, straight-A, gay-A, bi-A, grey-A, etc. take on meanings, as asexuals attempt to position themselves not only according to the genders of people to whom they experience romantic attraction, but also according to the degrees to which (and the ways in which) they do so (DeLuzio Chasin, 2011; 713). It is already clear from the language of asexuality that it positions itself as an alternative to sexual, instead of as an alternative to straight or queer, with significant variations in both ‘romantic orientation’ and the degree to...
