Islam is a very important religion for many reasons. Without the Islamic Empire. We would not have Math, Be more selfish, and Would not have Hospitals and medicine to take care of people with. First, without it the world would not have Math. I know this because in Document 2 there is a picture of Muslims praying. All of them are praying in the same direction. To Mecca. They do this because Mecca is the sight of the Kaaba which is the House of God built by Abraham and Ishmael. The Muslims know which way Mecca was because they used math to locate it. And If they can locate Mecca they can pray to it. Also, because the Muslims made Geometry it helped with Science. The Five Pillars of Islam consist of ways to be selfless. Document four, shows the five pillars of Islam and what they are. One who would follow it must be generous. For example, Pillar three is Zakat. Zakat is an almsgiving where Muslims give 2.5% of their money to the poor. Someone who was not selfless would keep the money for themselves, and spend it. Another example of this is pillar four Siloam. For this, a Muslim must not eat or drink from Sunrise to sunset.
