...Essay Option #2 Dazia Grigsby I do not believe Romeo and Juliet are really in love in William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet. I believe that their childish love is based purely on their physical love for one another. Their first kiss was 5 minutes after they first meet, Romeo only wants to talk to her because he is physically attracted to her, Romeo was head over heels for Rosaline seconds before he meets Juliet, both characters are selfish, and they basically use marriage as an excuse for having sex. These are some of the reasons why I believe this love story isn’t really about love at all. When Romeo and Juliet first meet, the only reason for them to be attracted to one another is for physical reasons and Romeo had just been whining about Rosaline, moments before. Usually the only reason someone decides they like someone without knowing who they are, is based on their appearance. Romeo isn’t any different. The first time he looks at her he says, “What lady’s that which doth enrich the hand/ of yonder knight?...

...the play, two love one another so much, enough to kill them. Even though some characters are to blame for their unfortunate suicide. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the character to blame for the star-crossed lovers death is Friar Lawrence because he knew Romeo and Juliet’s marriage was not a good idea, he was not honest, and because he never helped Romeo and Juliet with anything. The first reason Friar Lawrence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s suicide is because he knew that he should not have married...

...Friar Lawrence's interference with their love for each other in “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” those are the things that caused the end of Romeo and Juliet. When Friar Laurence let them get married without consent of their parents. Another way is that when Juliet drank the sleep potion which ultimately led up to the death of both of them. Some people might think that instead of the characters inexperience, people think that it was the fate and chance of Romeo and Juliet that led up to the death of both of them. They're plenty of reasons why the character's inexperience with love caused the death of Romeo and Juliet. One of the things that lead up to their death is when Romeo fought Tybalt and killed him Tybalt:”Thou, wretched boy, that didst consort him here, Shalt with him hence.” Romeo:” This shall determine that” (3.1.91-92). The reason why this is such a big deal with the death is because I feel that this is what cause Juliet to do the Things that she does. This all starts with the banishment of Romeo from Verona. This one action lead to Juliet doing all these crazy things like drinking the sleeping potion and fooled everyone around her “Farewell!-God knows when we shall meet again....... Romeo, Romeo, Romeo! Here's drink. I drink to the.” (4.3.14-60) The reason why she drank the sleep potion is because she thought that when she woke up she could run away with Romeo. That did not happen, Romeo found out about the “death” and started to freak out and ran to get poison...

...and Juliet - Haste In the play, Romeo and Juliet, everything happens very quickly, this is why one of the main themes in Romeo and Juliet is haste. As a result of haste, Romeo and Juliet wind up married and dead within the course of five days. Throughout this play, three characters stand out when it comes to haste; Capulet, Juliet, and of course Romeo. Once Capulet decides that he wants Paris and Juliet to be married, he tries to move things along very quickly. At first, Capulet wants Paris to wait two years before he marries Juliet because she is so young. “My child is yet a stranger in the world, / She hath not seen the change of fourteen years; / Let two more summers wither in their pride, / Ere we may think her ripe to be a bride” (Shakespeare, 1.2.8-11). Capulet then changes his mind but is furious when Juliet does not want to marry Paris. “Is she not proud? doth she not count her blest, / Unworthy as she is, that we have wrought / So worthy a gentleman to be her bride?” (3.5.143-145), “Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! / I tell thee what: get thee to church a’Thursday, / Or never after look me in the face” (3.5.160-162). Although Juliet does not agree to marry Paris, Capulet agrees for her and makes the wedding date Thursday. Capulet is so anxious for this marriage to happen, that when Juliet finally agrees, he changes the date to Wednesday. Capulet is very quick to make this wedding happen as a result of haste. Due to the fact that Juliet is...

...secret would it have ended in tragedy? I am going to declare why Romeo and Juliet's death can not simply explain by fate, and these are my point -Romeo is responsible for his own death. -Friar is responsible for their death. -Juliet's parents are responsible for Juliet's death. 1.First of all Romeo is responsible for his own death because he does everything without thinking , just like he shouldn't go to the party in the first place thought he knows their families hate each other , and it might get him trouble , I also think he shouldn't kill Tybalt because of the conflict between Romeo and Tybalt, it lead to Tybalt getting killed and Romeo banished , and even when he doubted about Juliet's death , his first idea is " Oh My God!!!!! I am going to die with her" He even don't want to make sure is that information correct or not , after he went to Juliet's grave he just drunk the potion , he didn't check her body . If he checked the body then he won't drink the potion it might saved their lifes , and maybe they could have devised a plan together and escaped Verona. So from the way he acted I think he lacked patience, and does everything without thinking and that cause his own death 2.Friar is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death because he was the one who allowed, even encourage them to marry , and he knew Juliet family and Romeo family hate each other and it may get things worse he still did it anyway although his intentions were real and meant to benefit...

...Everyone makes rash decisions in their lifetime. In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, almost every character makes a rash decision - from the star-crossed lovers getting married immediately after meeting, to Tybalt kills Mercutio, and Romeo killing himself when he thinks Juliet is dead. Juliet Capulet is a beautiful, kind person that is always wondering about how the world works or how to get out of something cleverly. She too makes rash decisions, but she is the one character to really think about choosing carefully throughout the play. The readers are able to see that Juliet is a very thoughtful, logical character through a convincing instinct Juliet has, the balcony scene monologue, and her soliloquy before taking the vile. Every teenager tries to influence their parents. Juliet tries to influence them by...

...Romeo and Juliet made thrilling moves for the desperation of their love. In both art forms we see that Romeo is trying to get to Juliet after he heard the news that she was dead, and Romeo was on a mission to see her wife. In the movie when Romeo arrives at the church, there is a guard standing guard the door, but you can see the desperation on Romeos face and the way he acts towards the guard. He tackles him and puts a gun to his head threatening to kill him if he doesn’t let Romeo into the church to see Juliet. This here is an example why...

...Romeo lets his emotions cloud his judgement, he kills himself. Juliet, on the other hand, though seemingly smart for her age, is also impulsive. Juliet recognizes how quickly the two fell in love, saying “it is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden” (II.ii.118). However, this does not affect her decision to ask Romeo to consider marriage only a moment...

...Others might say it was Romeo and Juliet themselves that caused this tragedy to happen. As said on page 227, “Here’s to my love. O true apothecary, /thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss, I die” (V.iii.119-120). This argument is true because it talks about how Romeo kills himself and was the start of this tragedy. This is also true because after Romeo kills himself, Juliet woke up and saw Romeo and then she killed herself, thus ending the story with a tragedy. While there may be some reasons to support the other side, the other side is incorrect because Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a potion that makes her look dead which led to Romeo killing himself, which led to Juliet waking up and killing herself for real. As it said on page 183, “Take thou...

...In the story (Romeo and Juliet), the story that tells what love really is, but sometimes goes to fare. But the story does have meaning. Because in this story the author wanted to tell us something, something about love. But he also told us how love can be forbidin between two people. But he was skeeky on how he said his words. By being star crossed lovers, they somehow show how love is real. In Order to love you must see so Romeo always made that happen, he would be as close to juliet as possible. But if he was caught he would be killed on the spot. On page 971, line 27 it stats, (that Romeo is describing Juliet as a bright angel and that she is a winged messenger of heaven). He is telling the reader that he would give his soul for her, and that he would rise up from anyone else too do anything and everything for her....

...death of Romeo and Juliet. There are many different factor that contribute to the death of Romeo and Juliet, but the most powerful contributing factors to there deaths are Friar Lawrence, Fate, and coincidence. These things were chosen, because they have the most influence on how Romeo and Juliet died. Is Friar Lawrence is to blame? He wanted to help the Capulet's, and Montague's back together and to end their feud together as a family. The Friar pushed too hard for Romeo and Juliet to get back together. He pushed them so far that they both killed themselves, Romeo with poison and Juliet stabbing herself. Friar Lawrence is blamed for their...

...Romeo and Juliet Essay (Character Analysis) Have you ever wondered why Romeo and Juliet ended it like they did? Romeo and Juliet each killed themselves over sadness of not being able to live with each other. Maybe it was irrational or immature, but that’s not what I blame for their deaths. I blame the feud between both families to be the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. If Juliet’s family hadn’t continued the feud this wouldn’t have happened. If Lord Capulet had given Romeo a chance to be with Juliet rather than dismissing the idea right away or instead of automatically giving her to Paris Juliet wouldn’t have died. Also, if Juliet’s cousin hadn’t attacked Romeo and Mercutio, Romeo wouldn’t have been pushed to kill him and by doing so get banished. For instance, Romeo refused to fight Juliet’s cousin, but he did not care, he kept attacking Romeo and even stabbed Mercutio for stepping in at Romeo’s defense. Finally, if Lady Capulet had given Juliet more choices outside of the Capulets family and friends then she wouldn’t have been driven to faking her own death....

...This essay is going to be about how Romeo and Juliet died and who killed them. It is going to include three reasons why this happened. I’m going to choose one character and explain how he/she is responsible for the deaths. One reason that Juliet died was because she stabbed herself and it was her choice no one else’s that she did that. She took a sleeping potion and everyone thought that she was dead, and when she woke up Romeo was dead so she stabbed herself. Romeo’s death was about the same way but different. Romeo seen Juliet but no one had told him that she took a sleeping potion, he thought that she was dead. So he drank a poison that was deadly and he killed himself. Reason two Juliet killed herself. She killed herself because of Paris....

...At the end of the day, Romeo and Juliet are dead. Many believe others are at fault for their death. Perhaps, it was their own fault for killing themselves. Although many others caused grief, the decision was made only to be by themselves. The people responsible for Romeo's and Juliet's death is no one but themselves. Romeo had previously liked another girl he saw and then all of a sudden he was deeply in love with Juliet. They both knew that they came from rival families but they still did not care and got the idea to get married. They both committed suicide for one another I believe that was a little unrealistic because they met that year probably not even a year passed and to commit suicide for someone is nothing but to blame them. No one had a gun to their head telling them to kill themselves. It was their choice that's why they're the ones responsible for their deaths. Another reason for the deaths being their own fault is because Romeo killed Tybalt. This caused a lot of grief and pressure. Romeo was nervous of what could happen to him....

...is happy and heartwarming things, not violence and heartbreak. But when reading the story of Romeo and Juliet there is so much rage and violence die to the fact that both families are different. Die to these tragedies deaths and separations between the families. This proves that Romeo and Juliet’s overall theme is that violence causes death and heartbreak due to the violence it caused by the deaths of Mercutio, Paris, Romeo and Juliet which caused heartbreak of the families. Starting with the differences between the families. It is noticeable during the play that the Capulets and Montagues do not exactly connect. At the beginning of the play when Sampson bites his thumb and Abraham asks...
