I am graduating early for many reasons. One of which, is to allow my mother be able to do more of the traveling that is required for her business. If I were to graduate in 2017, my mother would have to stay at home more often which would have a negative effect on her already struggling small business. Graduating early will also allow me to start the long process of becoming a medical doctor a year early and give me the opportunity to start practicing at a younger age. Throughout my high school career, I have taken many advanced classes to prepare me for success in college, so even though I am graduating a year early, I am just as prepared for college as any other top student. Additionally, to make graduating early easier for me, I tested out

Personal Narrative: My Graduating High School

...I have never felt so accomplished in my life before; I have been waiting since every young for this day to come. I always hated school the result of its long hours behind a desk listening to a teacher lecture about a subject. With being so eager to graduate, I never took a second to pause and just take it in to appreciate my life. Graduating high school was one of my most important goals in life; unfortunately, it went by too quick and wished there was a way to go back on this special day to relive it. At the end of the day, I could not believe I just graduated and wouldn’t have to...

Looking Towards the Future

...the Future When I was younger my parents always taught my siblings and I to set individual goals for ourselves and family goals for everyone to achieve. We would each write down one or two goals on New Year’s Day and we would sit around the dinner table and read our goals to the rest of the family. After all 7 of us read our personal goad and goal for the family we then would go and put them on the fridge where they stayed for the majority of the year. When our goal(s) got accomplished we would cross it off or put a check by it. Of course when we were all younger our goals were definitely not as specific as they were when we got older. At the time I thought my parents making us do this was dumb and ridiculous but as I got older I realized what a blessing it was, and how much it truly did help in our family life, and personal life. Since I’ve had to set goals my entire life I have learned that by doing this it makes projects, assignments, daily life, etc. a lot less stressful because I know what I want to achieve, how I’m going to do it, and by when I will accomplish these goals. Goal setting is also psychologically healthy. It helps you feel more purposeful, and that can stave off a sense of stagnation and mental health issues like depression (http://vizedhtmlcontent.next.ecollege.com/pub/content/9ab3605a-5a33-4b14-8048-143db6e60251/Setting_SMART_goals.pdf). Why Did I Choose Nursing

...WHY DID I CHOOSE NURSING When I was a little girl I always dreamed of being a nurse. I would watch my mother get ready for work every night. First she would put on her scrubs, then the stethoscope, and then her id for the hospital. She would come home and speak about all of her experiences and adventures. I was inspired. I started helping my mother take care of my grandmother and from then on I knew this was my calling. My mother always said: “Alexandra, you have a nurturing spirit, and you were born to be a nurse” (Danielle Jerome). I went to Camden county college as pre-nursing major and I got to work. College wasn’t as easy as I thought and I began to become discouraged. I switched my major to mathematics education and shortly realized that nursing was the only thing I can dream about. Then I landed in Prism Career Institute for LPN license and I feel right at home. School is not easy for me but I am prepared to buckle down. I’d had a plethora of jobs in my lifetime. My first job when I was 15 was an administrative assistant in a senior day care. I absolutely loved that job. I sat at a desk, greeted guests, answered phone calls, wrote emails, and assisted the manager with anything he needed done. I learned at a very young age how to be professional and mature. After that I went to the restaurant business. I worked at Friday’s, Cracker Barrel, and Bahama Breeze just to name a few. Working in the restaurant business taught me self control, responsibility, and great customer...

Happiness

...a dictionary. I often ask myself what makes me happy? Is it having fun? Is it being just happy stress free? Having a family? Maybe it is being rich, intelligent, and good looking? Or is it when you have good position on a job with a title such Manager, Supervisor, or maybe being the President of a major company or corporation? We all were happy and sad in life. We had lost lives, faith, hopes, and the list goes on and on. Each individual has different set of views when it comes to this issue of being happy because for me personally at this time of uncertainty; I would probably be happy if I achieve a goal or a dream such graduating from a university then hired for a job that guarantees a life safety. But, sometimes it difficult to figure out what we have to do in life to attain happiness. We would agree that the majority of people around the glove have a happy life, if not life would be a misery. Then why people commit suicide? I had known couple people in my family and friends that committed suicide. It is an experience you simply can’t forget as you feel their pain, anger and regrets when you hear their stories. But why they had to take their precious life? It is a question I ask myself on daily basis since I am not happy or satisfy with my current stage of life; however I wouldn’t take my life since life is a struggle and you have to battle through hardship in order to achieve the ultimate goal which is simply being happy with yourself. Going Back to School

...Why I decided to go back to school I would honestly have to say that my decision of going back to school has to be the most adult decision I have made. So many pros and cons were involved in this decision. Although going back to school can certainly be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, it is not a decision that I could make selfishly. A solid support structure is one of the keys to seceding in this journey. I needed to know that my fiance was willing and able to support me in the decision I made. I also needed my family’s support to know that the decision I made was the right one. A huge advantage of returning to school at an older age is that I will appreciate learning in a way that was not possible before. This life experience will give me a perspective of what life is really about. I fell like this time around I will enjoy learning and my grades will be reflective of this.   I needed to complete what I set out to do when I was younger. That is why I decided to finish school and actually finish something I have started. My parents also had a big part in my decision. I know that they worked really hard for us to go to school. I know that they will be very proud to see any of us finish school and show for it. Another big denominator in my decision was how now a days you are only worth anything if you have a degree. My decision was made because I want to make something out of myself, and I know that I am capable of doing it. I don’t want to have a regular...

Returning Student Consigier

...Creating a Returning Student Concierge position would be beneficial for Chattahoochee Technical College Angela C. Reisen SNHU HEA 520 Abstract Chattahoochee Technical College (CTC) would benefit from having a Returning Student Concierge in several different ways. A Returning Student Concierge “is the single-point of contact at a college or university who helps returning adult students navigate the application, enrollment, and registration processes and overcome barriers to college success” (Education, 2010). Through my research, the amount of material I found on this subject was limited, but what I did find has shown me this position is well needed at CTC. Being that I work with current students on a daily basis I feel this is what our college needs to keep our retention rate up for the returning population of our student body. After reading my point of view, I hope you will be persuaded to believe in the importance of this position as well.
