Brands like Coca-Cola and Mac Donald’s (Food) apple (communication), Toyota (Transportation) etc. Innovative and technological product are the brands that are mostly at the top, highly innovative products who are also committed to a sustainable drive are seen growing from the bottom spot also. The top five spot remained unchanged from 2013 to 2014. With the top spot remaining unchanged so many changes were made at bottom spot and Nokia was a big fall out declining tremendously from 57 position all the way to the bottom three, Apple maintained the first position with a value of 118,863$m and a +21% while google and Toyota still maintained their spot, bottom slackers like Gap moved a spot up from 100 to 99th position. My research will be focused on Nokia and Toyota, talking about the the brands, their marketing strategies, how they have been able to increase their sales globally and their ranking performance among the global brands. TOYOTA MOTOR MANUFACTURING COMPANY Toyota is one of the worlds, popular...

...WOMEN IN BUSSINESS For years, working women found they had little chance of getting a top job. The bosses of big business were nearly always men. They were often good at managing money but bad at managing people. Most of them were good at selling traditional products but bad at creating new ones. Many of them thought in the same way, said the same kinds of things and wore the same dark suits. But in recent years, business has changed. There are now opportunities for people to think differently and to manage companies in new ways. At last, women have been able to test new ideas and try new ways of working. Although many women still have problems in the workplace, more and more are reaching the top in their business lives. Number of businesswomen grows every year. More that 50% of students in the world are women. Women play a more important role in the world's economy than before. There are countries, where the number of female entrepreneurs is bigger than the number of male entrepreneurs (e.g. Switzerland, Singapore, Brazil etc.). For the most part it happens in countries of Eastern Asia, Africa and Latin America, because of the ever growing markets. There are a lot of outstanding examples of women, who have achieved everything they have by themselves. My favorite example is Anita Roddick, the founder of worldwide company “The Body Shop”. Her story is very interesting. Anita never thought about a life as a businesswoman. When she left school, she studied to be a teacher...

...Ouch v. Jakubek An analysis on reporting of Sexual Harassment in the work place Strayer University This analysis is a look at the sexual harassment in the case of Ouch v. Jakubek and why the situation was not in compliance with the federal employment laws. The discussion will try to create a plan that will correct the issues in the future and bring the Jakubek back into compliance of the law under Title VII of the Civil Right Act. In the work environment there are many laws that help protect the employee rights in the work place. One of these laws is The Civil Rights Act of 1866, which prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals because of their race. Over the years the Civil Right Act has change to encompass not only race, but also prohibits employers from discriminating in terms of conditions of employment on the basis of color, national origin, religion and sex. [ (Kubasek, 2009, p. 627) ] In the court case of Ouch v. Jakubek we will look at the part of the Civil Right Act under Title VII on discrimination because of sex or in this case sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is “the unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, which explicitly or implicitly makes submission a term or conditions of employment or...

Submitted By: Sikder Nazrul Islam Roll No: 0805052 B.B.A, (4th Year, 2nd Semester) Session: 2008-2009 Department of Management Islamic University, Kushtia What is Internet The internet in simple terms is a network of the interlinked computer networking worldwide, which is accessible to the general public. These interconnected computers work by transmitting data through a special type of packet switching which is known as the IP or the internet protocol. Internet is such a huge network of several different interlinked networks relating to the business, government, academic, and even smaller domestic networks, therefore internet is known as the network of all the other networks. These networks enable the internet to be used for various important functions which include the several means of communications like the file transfer, the online chat and even the sharing of the documents and web sites on the WWW, or the World Wide Web. It is always mistaken said that the internet and the World Wide Web are both the same terms, or are synonymous. Actually there is a very significant difference between the two which has to be clear to understand both the terms. The internet and World Wide Web are both the networks yet; the internet is the network of the several different computers which are connected through...

...Chunlin Du Breastfeeding, Health Lifestyle and Government Support ——Best Way to solve Childhood Obesity Problem Childhood obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century (Global Strategy on Diet). According to the research report from World Health Organization (WHO), the childhood obesity prevalence has increased at an alarming rate. Globally, in 2010 the number of overweight children under the age of five is estimated to be over 42 million. Close to 35 million of these are living in developing countries (Global Strategy on Diet). Extreme obesity among American children is much worse than previously believed. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in the United States, childhood obesity affects approximately 12.5 million children and teens (17% of that population). Changes in obesity prevalence from the 1960s show a rapid increase in the 1980s and 1990s, when obesity prevalence among children and teens tripled, from nearly 5% to approximately 15% (Figure 1) (Popovic 42). ...I. OVERVIEW Modern Japan has long captured the attention of economics and researchers around the world. The island-country provides a fascinating example of immense successes against all odds, from its isolated geolocation, lack of natural resources to the total economic collapse post World War II. With a GDP that ranks third worldwide in 2014 only after the United States and China, and a population that is a fraction of the former two, Japan owns a great deal of its achievement to various homegrown aspects (World Bank, 2014). This essay analyzes keys aspects of Japan to get a broad overview of Japanese business culture, using the Hofstede's Model and key social institutions. II. HOFSTEDE’S MODEL OF JAPANESE CULTURE: Figure 1. Japan on the Hofstede's Model (The Hofstede Centre, 2016). Figure 1 shows Japan's scores on six dimensions of the Hofstede's Model. Based on these scores, Japanese culture is characterised by low power distance, high masculinity, high context, medium individualism, very high uncertainty avoidance, and high long-term orientation. 1. Power Distance Japan is ranked at an immediate score of 54 in power distance index. It shows that the extent between the powerful and the less powerful within institutions and organizations is neither very far nor showing immense inequality. Japan almost reaches the balance. Confucianism makes a deep impact on Japanese culture. The main effect of Confucian philosophy on Japanese business is in the development of a...

This paper reviews the results of the 2000 Global Entrepreneur Monitor (GEM) country report with a sole focus on Germany in evaluating its degree of entrepreneurship. The factors examined include the costs, legal procedures, and institutional context via a look at the formal and informal entrepreneurial frameworks. The view of entrepreneurship in Germany will be explored as well as comparison to other countries in the GEM report.
