Working with Windows 7 Installing windows is a fairly straightforward process that requires simple instruction from the installation wizard. We need, however, an idea for the specific use of the system and how the OS will be used. So on top of an installation of the OS there needs to be an implementation of a filing system that is organized and easy to use. Also a user based system to ensure that those with the proper permissions can make the necessary changes and those without expertise cannot make significant changes and potentially ruin the system.
First we need to install windows. When we insert the CD be sure to boot from the CD.. Depending on your system you can reach the boot menu by pressing F8 or F10 on the BIOS screen. The following screen will appear, prompting if you wish to install Windows 7.
The following screenshot show the partitioning prompt. Here the hard drive can be divided into sections for organizational purposes. In this image a separate partition was created for the system files, and two primary partitions. This can be configured depending on the needs of the user, and the purposes of the system. Having the sytem files in a separate partition helps to keep some malware from accessing the core files. Also, should there be multiple users on one system, partitions can help keep the files from the different users separate and therefore avoiding unecessary clutter.

Next a screen will show what is currently being installed. The comupter will restart a few times as different sections are installed. When the installation is complete it changing screens prompting you for more information.
