Sonny Reyes Jr. (Professor) Introduction De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) is a member of De La Salle Philippines (DLSP), a network of 18 institutions managed by the Brothers of the Christian School. As such, it is guided by the principles of Lasallian education. It traces its origin to the Career Development Program (CDP) of De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU-M). In 1980, under the administration of Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC, the CDP was opened as a night school for working professionals. By 1985, the CDP became the Community College. In addition to the night school, the College offered pre-baccalaureate programs directed at improving student competencies required for collegiate studies and baccalaureate degrees for regular students. The College began its move towards autonomy when it was renamed De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde in 1988, moved to its own campus at 2544 Taft Avenue, Manila, and became a member institution of the De La Salle University System. By 1993, the College started conducting its own admissions processes and in 1997, it held its first commencement exercises independent of DLSU-Manila. In 1998, the College officially...

...The legend started in 1200 A.D. with a stray cat, but this cat is in no way ordinary though. He is ⅓ cat and ⅔ god. Both parents deserted him as a kitten. His mother was a goddess named Clawdia, and his father, Hulk Hogan. Growing up Meow had nothing else to do but defend for himself, but like all heroes he had his flaws. He lived in a box in Catcassone, France, stealing food from the locals. Meow acclaimed his name when some thug kitty tried to steal all of his tuna. Meow then attacked this criminal by clawing at him. The word then spread about Meow. Soon after, the king of Catcassone appointed Meow to be a Lord. Catsby, The king of Meowsipotamia heard about the acclaimed Lord Meow, of Catcassone. The king sent the word to Catcassone that they needed a hero. There is a hidden evil that’s been living in Meowsipotamia that no cat can defeat. Cats will keep losing their 9 lives if this evil is not defeated soon. All the cat warriors haven’t been able to defend their nation. The king is desperate for the one true hero to save them all. Lord Meow set sail to Meowsipotamia, the most powerful cat city of the world. Arriving, he noticed it seemed grey and sad. Walking to the castle, Lord Meow saw the king waiting in his throne to greet him. Lord Meow bowed for Catsby. The king rose, and without a word led him to a secret chamber. Catsby then proceeded to sit down. “I brought you here because I hope you can defeat this monster that’s been terrorizing my kingdom.” Lord Meow then unsheathed...

...Get Rich or Die Tryin Albert Gonzalez’s convicted TJX hacker Albert Gonzalez was sentenced to 20 years in prison crimes were committed mostly between 2005 and 2008 while he was drawing a $75,000 salary working for the U.S. Secret Service as a paid undercover informant. The string of hacks began in 2005 when Gonzalez and accomplices conducted war-driving expeditions along a Miami highway and other locations in search of poorly protected wireless networks, and found easy access into several retailer networks. Once inside a local TJX outlet’s network, the hackers forged their way upstream to its corporate network in Massachusetts. Gonzalez obtained a packet sniffer from best friend Stephen Watt, which he and accomplices installed on the TJX network to siphon transaction data in real time, including the magstripe data on the credit and debit cards. Gonzalez’s sentencing follows two others related to the TJX hacks. Stephen Watt, a former coder for Morgan Stanley, was sentenced to two years in prison for providing the sniffer that Gonzalez used in the TJX hack. Watt was also ordered to pay restitution to TJX, jointly with other accomplices, in the amount of $171.5 million. Humza Zaman, a former network security manager at Barclays Bank, was sentenced to 46 months in prison and fined $75,000 for serving as a money courier for Gonzalez. He was charged with laundering between $600,000 and $800,000 for Gonzalez. Gonzalez’s sentence is among the stiffest imposed for a financial...

...Project Estimating Technique Paper By: Efrain Gonzalez Jr. CPMGT/303 October 6, 2014 Chanda Sanders This paper describes each of the project estimating techniques by explaining when each technique would be used, and how each technique is used. The information being explained provides sources of information that is needed to figure out the most appropriate technique for a project. When justifying an estimate there are certain tools you could use that will help one justify an estimate correctly, and the information being provide explains what tools will be used to justify estimates. Project estimating techniques and tools are important aspects needed to achieve the goal and objective of a project. An analogous estimation is a very common estimation technique used to estimate activities within a project through previous experiences with different projects and extrapolates onto the current project at hand. This technique is mainly used for projects that have the same type of work, and the same resources being used between projects. Parametric model estimation is another precise, easy, accurate technique that is used to estimate time, and resources needed within a project to perform activities. The use of this technique is created upon historical experiences, and lessons learned on different projects. The three point estimation techniques is used to clarify and understand levels of uncertainty within an estimation through the use of three sets of assumption that are all different...

...Defying Society Perhaps one of the most popular books ever written by Mark Twain is Huckleberry Finn, reflecting a time of racial discrimination whose language could arguably be deemed “ inappropriate”. The Scarlett Letter published in 1850 was considered at the time sexual and overtly offensive. Pablo Picasso illustrates his view of women in the painting Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, where five naked prostitutes obscene postures are anything but traditional. The Color Purple directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel written by Alice Walker, displays a plot that depicts the hardships African American women went through in the 1900’s concerning racism, prejudices, and poverty. All of these works of art have been deemed as socially offensive, improper, or distasteful, however these are the exact reasons why they are so significant. Artistic endeavors, including film, do need socially unacceptable content in order to evoke emotion, fit into a specific genre, and to present familiar material in an unconventional way. Unpleasant images are a form of artistic symbolism that creates a story without any words. The audience can digest the meaning and emotion behind what is on screen without having to be told. For example, American History X displays racism through the use of symbols and colors when Derek, one of the main characters, steps out on his front porch half-naked showing his bare white skin covered in dark tattoos of swastikas and white-power...

...Guardians of the Galaxy Of all the Summer blockbusters released in 2014, “Guardians” was definitely a standout. Marvel's most bizzare and "out-there” film yet might as well be its most entertaining since "The Avengers". With its brilliant stylistic James Gunn flavor, an unforgettable group of characters, an irresistible soundtrack, and plenty of heart, “Guardians” takes 2014’s solid year of blockbusters to infinity and beyond. The Grand Budapest Hotel There is no filmmaker out there quite like Wes Anderson, a director who is always hitting it out of the park, and with “Grand Budapest” it is no exception. This intricate work of art features some of the most gorgeous and distinct visuals of the year, but really it is Anderson’s knack for his original characters that help elevate this absolutely over-the-top delight. Ralph Fiennes is wondrously charming playing completely against-type as Gustave H. (who has already gone down as one of Wes Anderson’s most iconic characters). Add this colorful ensemble cast along with an intricately crafted screenplay, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is definitely a must-see. Snowpiercer This one really caught me by surprise. South Korean director Bong Joon-ho’s latest film may use English as its language, but that does not take away its foreign-feel. It showcases some of the most exciting aspects of what foreign filmmakers have to offer, whether it is through its visceral action sequences, and surprisingly enough - its world-building. Which is...

Reno, 212 F. 3d 1338 (2000) Facts: This is an Appeal from the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. (No. 00-002606-CV-KMM). K. Michael Moore, Judge. Gonzalez v. Reno, 86 F. Supp. 2d 1167, 2000 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 3225 (S.D.

...In modern times persecution of Christians in Britain is not common however, the pain cannot be saved for Christians living in other parts of the world that often have to endure the “Nero type” experience in order to live out their faith in such circumstances the words and actions of Jesus remain an invaluable source of support. An example of a Christian who has recently suffered because of his faith is Oscar Romero a Archbishop from El Salvador had his life ended prematurely and brutally because he spoke out about great injustice carried out on the on the citizens of Latin America. The murder of father, Rutilio Grande who’s only crime was living in poverty alongside helpless peasants. An Example of this persecution is “Jesus prays in Gethsemane” Ch14v36-42, this example shows even when Jesus is in despair he will do what God wants him to. The message given from this is that in the time of great suffering you must stick to your faith at all costs. This is what Rutilio Grande did and his faith brought him death. In a way, modern Christians do have to submit to punishment, people could be made social outcast and be called names and take physical and verbal abuse off non-Christians just for their religion. Like when Jesus was summoned to the high priest he had to submit to questioning and suffering. When Jesus healed Jairus’ daughter in Ch5v21-43 the crowd laughed him and ridiculed Jesus for believing that the girl was just sleeping...

...THE B L A C K SWAN The HIGHLY I mpact IM of the PROBABLE Nassim Nicholas Taleb U.S.A. $26.95 Canada $34.95 is a highly improbable event with three principal characteristics: It is unpre dictable; it carries a massive impact; and, after the fact, we concoct an explanation that makes it appear less random, and more predictable, than it was. The astonishing success of Google was a black swan; so was 9 / 1 1 . For Nassim Nicholas Taleb, black swans underlie almost everything about our world, from the rise of religions to events in our own personal lives. A BLACK SWAN Why do we not acknowledge the phenomenon of black swans until after they occur? Part of the answer, according to Taleb, is that humans are hardwired to learn specifics when they should be focused on generalities. We concentrate on things we already know and time and time again fail to take into consideration what we don't know. We are, therefore, unable to truly estimate oppor tunities, too vulnerable to the impulse to simplify, narrate, and categorize, and not open enough to rewarding those who can imagine the "impossible." For years, Taleb has studied how we fool our selves into thinking we know more than we actually do. We restrict our thinking to the irrelevant and inconsequential, while large events continue to surprise us and shape our world. Now, in this reve latory book, Taleb explains everything we know about what we don't know. He offers...
