Active Sync
1 Connect your PC to the MC9090 Cradle using the USB connection. (Make sure the cradles power cable is plugged in)
2 Slide the terminal into the cradle and you should hear a “beep” from the terminal as well as a “beep” from the PC acknowledging the terminal has been connected successfully with ActiveSync.

3 A screen will open asking you to Setup a Partnership, select the “No” button and hit next as shown below. [pic]
4 The ActiveSync user screen opens and now you can connect to the terminal.

Installation of MC9090 Image Version v1.7
The Motorola "Device Configuration Package (DCP) for MC9090c50 with Windows CE v5.0” provides necessary tools for customizing the Platform and Application images of the MC9090c50 mobile device.
The DCP has the following tools: • TCM tool that can be used to load devices with HEX files created using this package or HEX files downloaded from Support Central. • KBtool workspace that can be used for customized keypad mappings
This software has been approved for use with the following devices: • MC9090c50 General Enhancements • Fusion version 2.55.1.0.010R. • BTExplorer version 1.2.4 Build 14702. • AirBeam, Rapid Deployment Client & MSP Agent - version 4.43. - Fusion version 2.55.1.0.10r, which is included in this release, when used with MSP 3.1 or above, allows Staging (RD) and Provisioning to be used to configure two Fusion Options: 802.11d and Auto Time Config. - MSP 3.1.1 or above allows Staging (RD) and Provisioning to be used to configure AES encryption for all authentication types supported by MSP 3.1.1 for which Fusion supports AES encryption. - This software release has been tested on MSP 3.1 and 2.9 and passed MSP Compliance. • Sample applications updated to SMDK for C v1.3. • Added SMB server (Samba file server) installation file to the Application partition. • Scanner driver updates. - Improved memory footprint of Pixdll.dll - Supports Korean 3of5 barcodes • SPR12189 - Updated Copyfiles for copying files to nonexistent directories more that one level deep. • Added support for Crypt API 2.0 and PFX files (required for Fusion 2.55+). • Support for all European Regional settings. • OSUpdate executable version 0.57. • Windows CE 5.0 OS build with QFE updates till October 2007. • Re-branding to Motorola: DCP, PSDK. • The DCP installation is applicable for all localized configurations. • Heximages and OSUpdate files have been removed from DCP and are available as separate download.

Below is the folder where the updated image is stored on the host PC. Double click on the 909Xc50BenUP013000 folder.

Select and copy the OSUpdate folder into the SD Card as follows:

Paste the OSUpdate folder into the root of the SD Card.

Once all the files from the PC have been copied into the SD Card, the SC card has to removed form the PC and then be inserted in the SD card slot of the terminal as follows:

Using the File Explorer of the terminal, the following file [pic]that can be found on the [pic]folder needs to be started.

This process will continue updating the OS of the terminal and it can take about another 5 minutes between 7 and 8
Installation of Wavelink Avalanche on Mobile Device
1 Open the program: Symbol MC9090 CE50 Avalanche Enabler. This can be found by using the Start Menu, go to Programs, and the program is under the Wavelink Avalanche directory. (Alternately you can find it at the following location: C:\Program Files\Wavelink\Avalanche\Client\Symbol MC9090 CE50\ WavelinkConfig.exe) Or can be downloaded form the following website: http://www.wavelink.com/products/flash/learningmod_amc_install_enabler.htm

Once the Avalanche Enabler Active Sync version 4.04-10 has been installed on the host computer, click on the icon to open it as follows: [pic]
The following window will open:

The Avalanche Enabler needs to be configured before it can be installed on the MC9090 terminals.
Once all the settings are set up, terminals will contact the dServer and get all the software updates.
