Systems Analysis Project Ch 01

...Introduction to Systems Analysis and Design 1. This week I contacted several individuals who work in Information Technology (IT) regarding their positions, systems used and business functions they perform. I attempted to get a crosssection of various positions and functions in the IT field. The following is a brief follow-up of our discussions. First, I spoke with Mr. James Smith, who was a Vice President of a web development company in Seattle, WA, who closed his business with his partner and moved to Lynchburg, VA. Mr. Smith worked on various projects in the IT field, but his specialty was web development and security camera installations. His business utilized Windows Server, and he used Bootstrap, JavaScript, and asp.net for his web development. Currently, he admitted to seeking IT employment in Lynchburg. While I did not get the name of his former company, his contact phone number is 555-555-2420. After speaking with Mr. Smitn, I contacted Mr. John Doe, Director of Operations at Momentum Solutionz, located in Roanoke, VA. Mr. Smith wears multiple hats as a both Director and Consultant. He is responsible for consulting with companies in a managerial role in putting together and guiding an IT development team, handles systems analysis, database development and project portfolios. Bud Johnson vs General Motors

...Prime Financial Credit Union’s Robbery Crisis Management Strategy Submitted by: Stephanie Koenig, Amy Seipp, Michael Hill, John Holmes Jr., & Charles Tate Introduction Crisis management is a complex process that requires competencies of individuals throughout and beyond the organization. When asked about their preparedness in the event of a crisis, banks will often point to plans prepared by operations officers, data processing managers and human resources supervisors. In the case of an uneventfully unplanned bank robbery at your local federal bank, being able to react quickly, efficiently and in an organized manner may result in defusing an unpleasant situation quickly, or at least in mitigating the overall adverse publicity received by your organization. If you are not organized and not cognizant that a crisis will arise at your institution, then your first reaction will be to panic. Banks and thrifts are tested in the marketplace by adverse circumstances. Those institutions with crisis management task forces in place can react in a manner that will mitigate the adverse circumstances facing the organization. Potential Crises Bank robberies are relatively uncommon: only about 2 of every 100 robberies are of a bank. Although violence is rare, employees and customers are at some risk of injury. If nothing else, being victimized can be terrifying. In addition, bank robberies can invoke fear in the community at large, as most are well-covered by the media...

I am excited about this position as it would be a natural next step from my previous financial experience. I see myself growing with a company into a leadership position, and Bank on Me seems like a good place to start. My favorite class at Moraine Valley Community College was Computer Applications in Accounting. I enjoyed learning about different systems for accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, invoicing, job costing, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. Microsoft Excel was an integral part of the course. I did well in this course and, therefore, was selected by my professor to become a teaching assistant. In this role, I work with students during office hours and hold exam review sessions to explain course concepts and help with assignments in Excel. It has been rewarding to see students do well after they needed so much help. My other favorite class was International Business, which explained how people do business differently throughout the world. I learned about cultural differences and the importance of adapting your products and marketing to diverse audiences. This course illuminated my high school study abroad experience in Rome, Italy, which was one of the best experiences...
