A Hunt for a Killer
A common night on my favorite bar. The bar “Bourbon for men “I usually drink there. Yesterday I bought some pills from a guy on the street. He said that I should try them in clean bourbon. I’m going to try that. I crushed the pills with my glass. I poured the pill-dust in my glass. I drank the whole shit. I called for another bourbon. When I got it I looked down. Black tar was pouring op from the glass. I closed my eyes and shaked my head. I could not believe what I just saw. It was just a hallucination. It seemed so real. I had to get some fresh air. I rushed out from the bar and found the nearest bench. My head was killing me. It must have been the damn pills!
I woke up. In an old dungeon. I got up quickly. It had to be a hallucination. No it wasn’t. I touched the cell door. Pushing it carefully. I took a peek outside the door. Nothing to see down the hallway just a faint light escaped from the ceiling. I grabbed a stone brick for defense. I stepped out on the hallway. I looked carefully around but which way should I go? left or right? On the left there was nothing but complete darkness and I didn’t have a flashlight. The right path there was at least a faint light. I headed right.
I had been walking for at least 10 minutes that had to be the god damn longest hallway ever! I should probably check the cell doors for supplies. Nothing in any of the cells. I had no choice but to keep moving. I finally reached a door that was different from the others. I reached out for the handle. The door was locked but it looked weak and old. I took five big steps backwards and rushed for the door. It broke wide open like small branches. It was an old office. I searched it for supplies. Suddenly I heard a loud knock on the far end of the hallway. I went out to see what it was. It could be another person. I heard the sound of a little girl crying. She was close. She was in the next cell. There was a lit candle next to her. She was sitting and crying. I touched her shoulder. She looked at me, screaming with a face cover in blood and scars.
I woke up on the bench breathing heavily. My head hurt like hell. There were some policemen standing before me. They asked me to listen to a recording of a conversation. I recognized the voice right away. I told them his was Malcom Vanhorn. The informed me that he was gone missing and if I knew anything about his whereabouts. I told them to try his house up north in mountains. They asked me to come with them since I knew the place very well.
The trip was long and boring. But at least there was a chance to sleep. My head was beginning to hurt again. I asked the pilot for a drink. He didn’t answer me. I asked again. He looked back at me. He was screaming with a face covered in blood. Pure reflex I reached out for the fire extinguisher and smashed it against his face. I think I broke his jaw. Blood was purring from his mouth. He was unconscious. The helicopter was going down. My only chance was to make a jump for the high trees. I Jumped out of the helicopter and I barely managed to grab a branch. I was hanging a while to catch my breath. Suddenly I heard the explosion from the helicopter. It startled me so much that I lost my grip. The tour down was painful especially because I was going down with my legs spread first. I finally hit the snow. I was screaming of pain. I was close to tears. I got up and went over to the wreckage. No one of the police force made it alive. Unexpected the helicopter was exploiting again. Not so much this time but enough to shoot a piece of metal in my leg. I was screaming. I quickly got the piece out of my leg. Luckily the weather was so cold that it wouldn’t bleed so bad. But I took a piece of my sleeve and wrapping it around my wound.
I finally made it to the villa. I knew exactly where I was going I had been there before. It didn’t take more than ten minutes to find his office. His office was trashed and everything was broken. I searched in his desk and found a parchment. The parchment was saying that Malcom was been abducted to an old farm. I turned the parchment. There was a signature “ SKX “ writing in black ink. I knew that it would probably be too late for saving Malcom but there was no way that I would let SKX get away.
SKX had murdered my parents so I had a score to settle with him. The infamous Serial Killer X or just SKX was not far from here. I was going to get that bastard!
I ran and I ran for the farm. When I finally reached it I could see a light from the shack. I could hear SKX talking and laughing. I reached out for a piece of wood and was ready to kill the bitch. I breached in the shack and saw SKX right away. I launched a heavy attack to his head and I hit him. He fell to the ground and I jumped on top of him and kept hitting him in the face. After a while when he was no longer moving I got away from him. I saw Malcom on the ground. He was sliced open and his corpse was smelling foul. By the time I remembered SKX and I looked back he was disappeared. I took a big sigh. On my way out I found a bottle of bourbon. I laughed and took a big sip.

How Does Rainsford's Ability To Kill Zaroff

...In the story “The Most Dangerous Game”, Rainsford’s ability to hunt, set up traps to kill Zaroff, and ultimately killing Zaroff, produced the fact of Rainsford becoming a human-hunter and losing his humanity. First of all, Rainsford was already a hunter before he went to the island, this leads his ability to hunt. When Rainsford and Whitney are talking at the beginning of the story, Whitney says to Rainsford, “I’ve see you pick off a moose moving in the brown bush at four hundred yards.” This proves that Rainsford can hunt as shown by his ability to hit a moose from 400 yards. Therefore, Rainsford can hunt humans as he can hunt animals very well. Second of all, Rainsford sets traps trying to kill the general throughout the story showing...

Was Rainsford Justified In Killing Zaroff

...Rainsford Justified Rainsford was justified in killing Zaroff because the general killed several people before attempting to kill Rainsford. Many more people would die if Rainsford didn’t kill him. While Rainsford and the general sat at the great table in general Zaroff’s palatial chateau. The two men start to talk about hunting and how the general has found a new animal to hunt when Rainsford figures out that he is hunting humans. So then Rainsford confronts him by saying, “But they are men” and the general replies with, “that is why I hunt them. It gives me pleasure” (Connell 4). ...that something went wrong in the initial hunt, but the third person narration takes you through different point of views as the story begins. Wilson an overpowering hunt guide with the courage of a (Lion) sets out to prove he’s worthy of his reputation. From his witty confidence in selecting drinks after their hunt to his overseeing ways to make sure everyone get a good breakfast before the day start on their courageous expeditions day after day. The narration is letting the reader solely see that Wilson is in control of the first act of the story. He ensures that the hunter receive all rewards from the hunt, even if it didn’t go as plan as this story was told. I read in the narration where the men whom did not participate in the hunt, was updated on the events of the day, and change their character of the hunter, Mr. Macomber. Mr. Wilson intervenes to squash all negative talks of the paid guest. As the character tries to assert the triumph of the kill on to Mr. Wilson, he constantly relinquishes it back to the hunter, so that it seem theirs hasn’t been a problem in the day’s event, only a successful kill. I see a troublesome relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Macomber as the narrator encourages you to notice the attraction building for Wilson through Mrs. Macromber comments of his greatness on the hunt which happen earlier. You can notice the uncontrollable acts in Mrs. Macromber as she tells the men that she will participate in the next hunt although the tell her to stay in camp....

The Hunter In Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game

...To end with, Rainsford doesn't want to be called a murderer. First of all, The general is talking to Rainsford about the hunt, but Rainsford was thinking about an animal until he fingers out what the animal is “Hunting? After all the General is a big game hunter but after he hunted every animal he got bored, but now since Rainford land on the island, the general will what to play a game of hide and seek with a bonus point of killing, and since he won then the game may have been influenced Rainford on using the same game for the next people that come to the island. But, Rainsford is a “ hunter, not a murderer” unlike General Zaroff (Connell 27). When Rainford and the general we're talking about the game Rainsford thought that they were a strange animal on the island but it turned out they were going to kill each other or hunt each other but, Rainford is a hunter he wants to hunt animals not his own people....

Compare And Contrast Rainsford Vs Zaroff

...In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, there are two characters named Sanger Rainsford and General Zaroff. Only one of those two characters is civilized, but in the beginning of the story they both seem to be civilized. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, civilized is marked by well-organized laws and rules about how people behave with each other. Using this definition, Rainsford can be determined the more civilized person compared to Zaroff. Rainsford is more civilized because he refuses to kill another person, he treats other people appropriately, and he uses the best of his abilities to get out of a bad situation. First of all, Rainsford is more civilized than Zaroff because he refuses to kill people...

Dolphins Persuasive Essay

...wonderful job on shining a light on the questionable hunting practices on dolphins in Japan. Dolphin hunting in Japan as practiced in The Cove are unnecessary and cruel. Dolphins killed in the Taji dolphin drive hunts are several times greater than those in the antarctic and most other seas. (WDC Dolphin Hunts). Almost 23,000 dolphins and other sea mammals are killed or captured in Japan every year, by the ever-growing countries whaling industry (WDC Dolphin Hunts). The typical practices used in Japan to hunt their dolphins is very unnecessary, cruel and should have greater consequences towards those unethical practices of dolphin hunting and capturing. The way in which the Japanese gather dolphins and kill them is flat-out unnecessary. The fishermen herd the dolphins towards land into a sheltered cove and then cover them with a net to prevent their escape. They then used to...

...who still hunt animals. People shouldn’t be allowed to hunt because this practice is cruel and inhumane; it´s a real crime because animals are living beings; besides that they kill endangered species, an also, they do it not for eat them, but to trade animal’s skin or fur and their ivory. Hunting animals is a cruel practice; it´s a crime because animals are living beings, and like us they deserve to live in peace without being killed by humans. Animals have rights; humans who kill animals are committing one of the worst crimes, and they should be severely punished for that. Unfortunately, laws about these types of crimes against animals are really bad.  Animals can be used to satisfy legitimate needs, like food and clothing, but in other cases hunting is a sport and a business. In the market, animal´s skin, ivory and horns are very popular and people make lots of money with this. They get their skin and ivory to decorate houses. Also, they sell their skin to create luxury coats and shoes. The sad thing is that people still buy these objects and they don’t care how many innocent animals were killed for this purpose. People who practice hunting, in most of the cases, kill endangered species and they don´t realize or they don’t care about that. This is one of the strongest reasons why hunting shouldn’t be allowed. It is very important to be aware that hunting is exterminating endangered animals. Governments must create stricter laws that prohibit indiscriminate hunt of endangered...

Why Hunting Is Wrong

...I believe that hunting for sport is wrong. Did you know that nine hundred five animals are extinct and 16,928 are listed as threatened to be extinct? Well, a big amount of those animals were extinct due to hunting. Now I'm not saying that all hunting is wrong because some third world countries have to hunt to survive. Yet in richer countries, people can go to a store to buy their food and they still hunt just for the fun of it. If you ask me, I don’t see the fun of killing an animal that has no chance against someone with a gun. Hunting makes people have the mentality that it’s okay to kill animals and that leads to people killing endangered animals, even if it’s illegal. People just shouldn’t be able to hunt just for the fun of it. One day...

Bengal Tigers

...illegal to own, hunt or trap tigers, poachers continue to trap and sell tiger parts on the black market. Furthermore, tigers are being separated by “population fragmentation” which prevents them from mating and producing healthy cubs. Although conservation centers are providing safe havens for tigers, they are not seeing the results they expected. Royal Bengal Tigers are a majestic and alluring animal that will no longer exist if humans continue to poach them and take away their natural habitat. Due to massive human population increase in India, tigers have lost most of their natural habitat in the rain forest. According to the World Wildlife Federation, “Royal Bengal Tigers have lost 93% of their range and habitat in the last forty years. At the expense of tigers, forestry and grass lands were destroyed to develop land for agricultural and housing use to accommodate the accelerated population of humans. Jonathan Wright, an expert on Royal Bengal Tigers, explains that male tigers are loners and do not share their hunting grounds, with other males’ only females; they need a large home range. Each male tiger requires 20-30 square miles to mate, hunt and roam, however, this natural process cannot take place without the sanctuary of trees, grasslands and vegetation tigers need to exist. A large amount of forest range in Asia as has been destroyed to improve the lives of humans but has endangered the existence of tigers. Although, it is illegal to hunt, own or kill a tiger, the...

Loss Of Innocence In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis

...When our main priority is physical survival we lose our innocence. For instance, before the island the boys had never killed anything, but they realize they must hunt the pigs to stay alive. Jack comes back from a hunt and says proudly, “ I cut the pigs throat” (69). This shows that we lose our innocence when our main priority is living. Others may argue that not everyone will lose their innocence when a person is forced into survival mode. However, since food is necessary for survival, it would be very difficult to not kill any animals in the process. For example, after Piggy is killed by the rock, Jack, “[v]iciously, with full intention... hurled his spear at Ralph” (181). This shows that he is no...

Grizzly Bear Argumentative Essay

...voracious creatures who hunt and kill people, but they're nothing like that at all. In fact, they are not aggressive unless you’re the one causing a ruckus or being a threat around their cubs or food sources. Grizzly bears are quite intelligent, beautiful and unique creatures who have great memory, senses of hearing, and smell. But, since they are incorrectly portrayed as a threat, people are most likely to not be in favor of them. The FEDS are ready to delist grizzly bears and hunters are ready to make them trophies. David Suzuki, author of Grizzly Bear Trophy Hunt Is a Sport Like Dogfighting is one of many who oppose to killing grizzly bears. David Suzuki finds it inhumane to kill these animals for your own selfish and pleasurable means. On the contrary, Steven Rinella, author of The Problem with Protecting Grizzly Bears is in favor of killing grizzly bears. Due to the amount of money put into protecting these bears from harm's way, it's a waste of money. By reading both positions, it becomes apparent that it is inhumane to kill a grizzly bear as a trophy you hang...
