Abstract
There is a world full of passionate people that want to bring awareness to human trafficking. Human trafficking exists on a global level affecting many men, women and children, in a variety of countries. Although there are some case studies available that involve this criminal activity, the lack of recorded data complicates the continued progress forward on the awareness of the real existence of human trafficking. The lack of data has a lot to do with the covert nature of human trafficking and the hidden activity that it is. The government will need to continue to amend the laws that are already in place, in order to prevent and catch traffickers before they reach their victims. Strong training for our law enforcement, our healthcare providers and any other agencies that may be involved also needs to be put in place. Continuing to create awareness will bring human trafficking to the surface for a difference to be made in the lives of the victims.

Introduction On a global level human trafficking is an issue that continues to gain increasing awareness, as agencies in human services, law enforcement and health care professionals become more involved and aware of the problem. Human trafficking, according to the United Nations convention, is defined as; “the recruitment, transportation, transfer harboring, or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or

The Importance Of Human Trafficking In The United States

...Human trafficking over the years has gotten progressively worse and worse in the United States, and it needs to end now. Human trafficking is when somebody gets abducted and they get sold to people for money. When this does happen to people it doesn’t just affect them, but it affects their friends, family, and their community. They get sold to people and are treated like an animal. They are not fed right, and some even get drugged to do stuff against their own will. This issue is happening everywhere in the world, but especially in the United States. Human Trafficking happens every day, and everywhere. For example some people have got abducted by walking to and from school. Human Trafficking is generally a crime against persons, violating their human and labor rights in the process. (Vanessa, 2015) Sometimes even when you are just walking to get your mail. It could happen anytime and anywhere and it happens so fast that you wouldn’t even know what happened to you. Human Trafficking is the second most profitable criminal enterprise for transnational organized crime groups. (Vanessa, 2015)Sadly, by the times someone would notice that you were missing you could...

Plan of Action for Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence

...Plan of Action to Combat Human Trafficking Abstract Human trafficking is a crime that without the proper direction will cost the human being the right to have freedom. Every person has the right to choose and not fall into being victimized by someone who is in the pursuit of indentured servitude. This billion-dollar industry is aiding the criminal acts such as drug trafficking and production, sexual assault, sexual rape (male or female), and most of all abuse and neglect of all the victims involved. Most people want to believe that human trafficking is non-existent and only happens to victims who are participating in any illegal enterprise. The ugly truth is that most people who have been trafficked did not know the ramifications of the decisions that they were making because of the promises that were falsely given to them by their captives (smugglers). The need for a plan of action to combat human trafficking is one that must not be taken lightly. If it were as simple as people think, then it would have never been an issue to begin with. Plan of Action to Combat Human Trafficking The discussion of human trafficking is one that has taken place throughout the time that man has been in civilized existence. Human trafficking is one of the most horrific acts that a person could ever go through and/or encounter. These victims are slaves and live in servitude until they break free or die in some instances. Many people would like to believe that this is something that happens...

Globalization of Prostitution

...at the University of Hawaii, globalization can be defined as the “intensification of worldwide social relations which link distant localitites in such a way that local happenings are shaped by events occurring many miles away and vice versa” (13). The main characteristics of globalization are the increased amount of global trading, markets’ openings, and inflow and outflow of goods and service (Ditmore, 186). Globalization has four major qualities such as creation of new social networks, stretching of social relations, intensification of social exchanges, and consciousness across the world (14-15). Globalization can be beneficial in terms of communication and economic trade but also can be very harmful when it comes to sex marketing, trafficking and prostitution. Prostitution is a very controversial topic and is widely debated in different countries. Globally, people are divided into proponents and opponents of legalization of prostitution. This paper is going to research and critically analyze the conflict regarding legalization of prostitution as well as provide a comparative perspective on illegal prostitution in the United States and legal prostitution in Germany. Prostitution is often named as the oldest profession in the world. Even in the times of Bible, prostitution was one of the most common ways for women to earn money. According to American Bible Society, Proverbs 23:27-28 says “for a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well.” Ancient Greece and Rome...

Many people are familiar with human trafficking, but do not hear about it as much as murders or robberies on the news. It is like it never happens. Effectiveness on Human Trafficking

...In the US Department of States, and in the last couple of decades, there had been more than 12 million human trafficking victims worldwide, it has been a growing phenomenon as we speak, and Interpol estimates that human trafficking is a multi-billion-dollar business, amounting to the third largest transnational crime following drug and arms trafficking. Accordingly, social scientists have started to turn their attention towards policies enacted to combat human trafficking. But one of the problems scholars face is the lack of reliable data on countries’ anti-trafficking policies which can be compared over time and between countries. Existing measures fail to recognize the different levels of compliance in the three main policy dimensions: prosecution, protection, and prevention. Separating the three dimensions is important. There has theory and evidence indicate that better protection policy may encourage potential victims to risk illegal migration, which could lead them to fall prey to traffickers. Human trafficking inflows might therefore increase as a consequence, contradicting the objectives of prosecution and prevention policies. There are many reasons why one would expect spatial dependence in anti-trafficking policies, for example pressure, externality or uncertainly, The major destination countries of internationally trafficked persons are likely to exert pressure onto countries which function as major sources of transit and/or origin for people trafficked into these...

...support specific points in your outline. Human Trafficking in the United States of America I.Introduction I’ve chosen to cover this topic because now more than ever news specials are being broadcast and even though each story as similar as the next they’re very captivating. The statistics on this issue is overwhelming and it involves just about every type of criminal act known. It’s become an absolute phenomenon in the United States of America. Criminal Justice entails the following in a criminal activity; gathering evidence, apprehending the accused, conducting a trial, making defense, judgment after proving the crime and eventually punishment. There are many crimes that deserve criminal justice (Legal-Explanations.com, 2004-2007). Human trafficking which is nothing more than modern day slavery is just one of many heavy crimes that deserve it. II. Body A. Trafficking doesn't happen in other parts of the world somewhere else; sufferers of trafficking are right here in the United States, suffering horrendous human rights infringements. The United States did not set in motion the monitoring of trafficked individuals until 1994; it began being covered in the Department’s Annual Country Reports on Human Rights Practices (Wordpress.com, 2009). Numerous laws have been passed against it in the United States, and the U.S. has been dynamic in advocating against it globally as well (Wordpress.com, 2009). In the United States trafficking became a center of activities and culminated...
