...CHAPTER l INTRODUCTION Background of the Study One of the obstacles our country faces today is the surplus of unemployed college graduates. Moreover, the number of college graduates increases every year. This resulted the increase of job seekers versus job opportunities (1). In fact, the Philippine Star through its website published that there is a 7.5% increase in the unemployment rate for the year 2014. In addition, the Philippine daily inquirer said that there is a 12 million increase in unemployed Filipinos year. In addition to issues like underemployment where in graduates of a 4 year degree course do not usually land in decent jobs with proper compensation, or there is no parallelism of the courses finished with their job. One example of this is a graduate in Teacher Education working as Brgy. Secretary or a BSOA graduate working as Barangay Health Worker. Today, most college students and their families are banking on education as the means and ways to have a financially secured job in the future that is why they enter in tertiary level. The higher education institutions then are responsible in equipping these students with knowledge, values, and skills to be able to perform well in the working place. Mountain Province State Polytechnic College as an institution offers Bachelor of Science in Office Administration which aims to produce graduates who are employable and globally competitive in the various general and specialized administrative supports, supervisory and...

She met an older woman name Sonja Jackson and they had a lot in common and she explained the business to her so they decided to open up a boutique together. Sonja helped Kytemique out a lot. In 2008, the two opened their first boutique called, Keeping It Cute in West Los Angeles, CA. This was the start of what would become the retail legend of KIC Fashion Inc. From the beginning, Kytemique’s business philosophy was based on exceptional service, selection, quality and value. The company built a devoted customer base; and in 2009, the partners added their second store. In 2010, Kytemique’s partner retired and sold her share of the company to Kytemique. The company soon grew to become the largest independent clothing chain in the United States. By 2011, KIC Fashion had four stores in Washington, DC and 2 in New York and 5 in California. While KIC Fashion is still growing nationally, it focused on catering to customers' needs, individually. Instead of categorizing departments by merchandise, KIC Fashion created fashion departments that fit individuals' lifestyles. After high school Miller worked lots of jobs to save up enough money to attend the University of Michigan, where he wrote his first paper that turned into his first play, called “No Villain”. Once he realized what he was good at, he moved east to start his new career. There he met his first wife Mary Slattery, but their relationship did not last long, and three weeks after the divorce he married actress Marilyn Monroe. This relationship was very good look for him because of what Marilyn Monroe’s career was at the time. He “divorced Monroe after five years”, and several months later “got married to Inge Morath”, whom he had two children with, Rebecca and Daniel Miller. There was one flaw about this family though, that “Miller excluded his son Daniel out of their lives” for the longest time. Miller did not want Daniel around because Daniel was diagnosed with Down syndrome, but Miller’s daughter, Rebecca, was married to a wise man that convinced Miller to keep seeing his son, because he did not feel that Miller was doing the right thing. Miller lived a crazy life, but this all lead up to something that soon the world would never forget.(Synopsis) Arthur Miller’s career started off a bit shaky with his first real play “The Man Who Had All the Luck” because the show closed “after just four performances and a stack of...

...The historical cases of Humphrey’s “Tea Room” study (Sieber, 1977), Milgram’s “Obedience” study (Blass, 2007), Zimbardo’s “Prison Study” (Zimbardo, 2015) and Tuskegee study (Tuskegee University, 2015) showed the unethical research on human subjects. The studies were never reviewed by the Institutional Review Board (IRB, 2014) because it was not around at that time. Today, the consideration of ethics needs to be a critical part of the substructure of the research process. In my study an informed consent would be covered with the range of procedures that must be implemented throughout the research. I have been tossed on two studies; I am doing this assignment with one of them. The ages involved in the study of the effects on health with social media, are ages 10 to 18, therefor, need parental or legal guardian consent. I don’t expect to anticipate any harm done to the participants since the participants will go about their normal routine day and would be studied by monitoring how often they use any form of social media and the effects of any metal or physical health concerns related to it. All the information you provide will be strictly confidential, and the participants name will not appear on the questionnaire. Instead, their questionnaire will contain an identification number only known to the researchers involved in the study. To satisfy the requirements of the IRB, I would have to assure that the following requirements’ are met: 1. Risk to subjects are minimized 2....

...design or structure best suited for any organization is stringently tested over time. Much thought and research is required at the onset of developing organizations. Periodic assessment or review of the organizational design is also beneficial. It could be the difference between survival or failure for the organization. One organization whose design strategy has withstood the test of time is IDEO, “a private design consulting firm headquartered in Palo Alto, CA” (Shaughnessy, 2002, p. 50). Its organizational design, as well as the performance of this design, is examined and recommendations provided for future organizations that enter into the same field. Evaluation of Overall Organizational Design IDEO, originally known as David Kelley Design, began in 1978, and merged with ID Two in 1991 (Nussbaum, 2004) when it became known as IDEO. It has been an innovative company from its inception and has been extremely successful as well (Nussbaum, 2004). IDEO has been the recipient of numerous awards through the years, including the National Design Award (Shaughnessy, 2002), (Perry, 1995). The client list of IDEO has numerous well-known names: 3Com, Agilent Technologies, Cisco, Pepsi, Samsung, Gillette, Amtrak, Polaroid, Ford, and Kraft (Shaughnessy, 2002).
