I joined a nursing school to pursue a three-year diploma program in nursing. Helping and assisting the sick has been something that makes me happy and feel fulfilled in life. Soon after my graduation from the nursing school, I got an opportunity to work for a teaching hospital, the biggest of all the hospital in the country. During the years I worked there, I contributed a lot in the nursing practice and care of patients in different departmental settings. To do that, I have been through several on-the job-trainings, continuing education and informal studies, which made me a better nurse. I moved to USA with family and now I am a registered nurse in the United States of America. As a professional in the ever dynamic field of nursing, I feel it is mandatory to continue my study so that I can deliver the best care possible to my patients and become the best nurse I can be. For me, baccalaureate nursing means getting the opportunity to augment my knowledge and skills through advanced education. I believe pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing will help me to get prepared for a broader scope of practice and give me a chance for career advancement. In addition, the baccalaureate degree in nursing will help me in developing stronger clinical reasoning, problem solving abilities and improving critical thinking skills. Attending the baccalaureate degree in nursing program will help me to better handle conflicts and resolve problems effectively. Furthermore, it is a key to strengthen my leadership skill and have an impact at administrative level in implementing healthcare policy by coordinating the health care staff. On the other hand, pursuing a baccalaureate degree is a first step in stepping up the ladder of nursing career.
