In the state of Florida, classes were reduced to see the effectiveness it had on the students and their academics. After the classroom sizes were reduced, there was no significant benefits shown statistically for students of these school districts throughout a number of areas. The academic areas that were looked at were exam scores, attendance, and violence within the schools. California also made efforts to lower class sizes and they also did not succeed in making any connections to gains in achievement to class size. It is very important to realize that improving the quality of the teachers is far more beneficial than decreasing the size of the classroom. When thought is really put into students learning abilities, a great teacher with forty students will have a much higher success rate than a very poor teacher that educates fifteen students.
