Affluenza is contagious and its so painful It is transmitted virally with a condition of being overloaded with anxiety, debt and waste that erupts as a result of a tenacious pursuit. Based on the book, is a metaphor of a threatening disease that most medical professionals and the people at large fear when they get to know about it. What the know about it, is that it tackles a contagious subject that is fundamental in the root of the earth. The serious subject that we learn is that the harm that is being done onto our familes, our environment, our communities and our health by being obsessed and greedy of the material expansion in our possession. The related problems that face the common individual or subject such as the immense rise of debt, the longer working hours at work, the feeling of being lonely, environmental degradation thought the greedy human encouragement that differs within everyday families and the endless commercialization are all that sum up the disease called Affluenza. The epidemic of all consuming is a must read for all especially those who do the analysis on financial counseling due to the topics that are explained and touched on concerning over consumption, concepts of happiness and the simplicity of voluntary. This book has brought a huge impact onto my entire life, I learned to view things from my own perspective. An unnessary competition among others is a thing of the past for me, there is absolutely no need to keep up with everyone else. This social disease that affect many especially the young adults should be what I advocate to be, to be eliminated from the minds of those who don’t really matter. The worry, depression and even the mental illness that Affluenza brings should never be present in my entire life. The creation of unrealistic expectations that can never be met that end up infecting us leads me to believe that I would not desire any of my possesions, but to maintain in the best way possible. The significant effect so far that I have gained is to achieve the financial plan in ones day to day commitment. The financial plan comes about in the subset section in the sub section of the Fast Food Nation, it makes you thnk not to contemplate another quarter again, in relation to what Schlosser has to do for McDonald and what it does for the mall. The Affluenza press at the effects of the fever and offers a remedy and different strategies to begin with curbing and containing the menace of the disease to its core. All this comes up when you ask yourself if you really need to purchase any of the items in question before you make a next order or purchase. By the use of common sense and approach, the obvious trends of consuming realities of our society that make it as easy as possible in the aftermath of the later months that followed when the book comes to the end, to allow us to start spending sensibly with what our pockets can support and then save and invest for the future. From all I have learned, the book introduces sanity into so many of us who are credit crazy. Affluenza makes me think and look at the image and practice of different people and the criticisms and frustations that is brought about by it. The humorous subject of consumption raises our eyebrows of our daily routines thoughtout the course of our lives to a diagnosis that troubles us all in all individually. It shows us that we are stuck on a culture that is being supported machines that are out of our reach or in control, I believe the change starts with us. Let’s accept that we could not continue to live in such a state and that we needed to change and the change is necessary and unavoidable, after all there is some hope and with hope is our assurance. Affluenza is a curable, millions of people should come out of the box and kick it out of their precious lives altogether. With the acknowledgement of the massive resources spent on the various researches on diseases that affect us, all the reasources spent as a result of our lifestyle brings us this disease. It is in my hope that Affluenza is one disease, one that we can treat by spending less on it. This disease is or accumulated wealth not including the money that distracts the American culture not forgetting the associated real costs in our obsessed society and how it affect our day to day comings and goings. Affluenza is a reality and I’m also affected by it. The force that pushes me to achieve the best of the best without the consideration of costs or repercussions assiociated with my objective ignored is a show that it is in control of my life. I was raised as a teenage in the back of my mind knowing no sort of glory in the value of money but only to do what I want. The debt has engulfed me, without thinking of what the future hold for me and its consequences to my future and the generations to come after me. The rate of poverty is increase, the middle class is collapsing and even the use of our credit is out of our control, that gives me an insight that has been driving my life in the sport of this disease. The jobs that are being outsourced to the Middle East, China and even in Mexico where labor is being offered cheap and plenty, peoples closets are being filled with nothing but junk and so many electronics are bought as a necessity is only adding less value to the lives that many people yearn for. All of this is my generations selfish wish that has affect the culture and the future of financial stability. I hope this trend can be reversed. The American people face a drastic overtaking of the chronic congestion which all of us believe to be affect the developing or third world countries. The pitfalls that result from that result from the increase of the facilities used for storage, packed jammed houses and cars, the day to day congestion of traffic is the description of the chronic congestion that faces us all. The stress that will overtake us, the exhaustion that faces us from our daily activities due to lack of sleep, the hunger that bites us, the many decisions that we make in our lives and even the overload of our possesions is all that congest us in our lives. The care that we extend to others is also catergorized under this, the concern that we have about other peoples problems like divource of our friends, children affairs and many more others are the affluenza of the family. Our community is affected by the chills of this disease, the community is affected through the acts such as isolation, the lack of a place in society, and the social capital that is declining tremendously. The over consumption that bites us is the decreased participation in community development agendas that affects the community. The questions that always popped out when I read this book is, if I have a thing which is good transforming to bad or bad that is transforming good? Gunning down Affluenza, is not surrendering the good life but is regaining it back and being in control of it. The important part is the clinical aspect of presenting information of psychology and anthropology of us and some hope. We can acknowledge that the chronic disease undermines the family life, our communities, our personal health and our environment. Despite what I just metioned, there is a light at the end of the tunnel that offers us a way out in the three strategies. The strategies include, the presentation of the disease symptons, tracing the historical sources of the epidemic and various ways it offers us on how to deal with the bug. Well researched and presented sarcastic ways of life makes our view of life open up and re-evaluate what is of importance to me as and individual and the needs of our society.
