Wasserman uses simultaneous plots most notably in Man of La Mancha. The two simultaneous plots that stand out the most to me are Aldonza's and Don Quixote's. By making their plots simultaneous, audience members are able to see the contrasts between these two character's personalities. While Aldonza is very down to earth and sees the darker side of humanity, Quixotes is carefree and sees the lighter and more caring side of humanity. When these two contrasting characters' plot lines meet, we are able to see new traits develop in each character. Aldonza becomes more hopeful and even begins to go along with Quixote's belief that he is in a fairytale. She insists that she dress their enemies wounds when Quixote says that nobility demands it and
