Light ‘em Up

In my piece titled Light ‘em up , the theme of my American Quarter Horse piece is racing. Quarter horses are recognized for their incredible sprinting and galloping abilities. They were originally bred for participating in sprinting races. That are also called quarter races, centuries ago. Which is why the breed was named “Quarter Horse”. Quarter horses are very diverse, they are used for very different activities which they strive in; such as cattle ranching, farming, racing, rodeo ( barrel racing, roping, equestrian jumping etc.), sporting events (polo, hunting etc.). I chose to create a racing horse because that is what these horses were originally bred for. While racing quarter horse’s have the capacity to reach incredible

...production. Who can not recognize the big production lead to the decline in cost?" In 2007, the founders of Fitbit, Eric and James, realized that sensors and wireless technology had advanced to a point where they could bring amazing experiences to fitness and health. They embarked on a journey to create a wearable product that would change the way people move (Fitbit, 2015). In this thesis, I propose the three suggestions on the advertising side of Fitbit. Firstly, launch different types of advertising, according to different cultures, sex, age groups and human races. Secondly, analyze Apple and Nike's successful marketing cases, learn from their highlights and add to Fitbit’s advertising elements. Thirdly, use customers' feedback and product analysis as a part of the advertising, so that users can know better of the product advantages. I hope these suggestions can help Fitbit, Inc. Markesting Help

...Week 5 Assignment John Gaudino University of Phoenix BS/COM 100 6/21/2015 New Business Analysis Gatorade is named after the Gators of Florida in the 1960's when a team of researchers were looking for something to help the football team. The team was suffering on the field from playing in the extreme heat. The coaching staff went to their crack team of scientists to figure out what they could do to help keep their team fresh during the crucial 4th quarter. Their solution was Gatorade and the product is still the number one sports drink in the world. Millions of athletes from all walks of life continue to use the product to get that extra boost. Is there a way to expend though? How can Gatorade's numbers grow even greater? Tapping into the social media realm to me is the way to go. Forms of media such as newspapers, magazines and even television to a certain point are dead forms of marketing. How often to see someone reading the newspaper or reading a magazine? There are reasons that most papers and publications have "E-books" of their content because this isn't 1985 anymore. Computers, Tablets, and Phones are the new way to market. Tapping into that market is the key to growing what is already a global product. Even television is a lost art in the world of marketing because of the introduction of DVR. Some services like Hulu Plus and Netflix will force viewers to watch an ad before continuing the programing. I am not saying to completely clean the...

Financial Analysis of Wells Fargo Bank

...Financial Analysis of Wells Fargo Bank Analyze the company’s mission and vision statements against the performance of the organization. Then, evaluate how well the company lives out its mission and vision statement. Provide support from the organization’s performance in your evaluation.  The mission statement of Wells Fargo, like most other banks, centers around getting as much money and financial obligation from each individual as possible. “We want to satisfy all our customers’ financial needs and help them succeed financially.” To further clarify that mission Wells Fargo says, “We believe our customer can save more time and money if--- after carefully shopping around and comparing choices --- they bring all their financial services to one trust provider.” Wells Fargo has lived up to its mission statement by becoming the nation’s largest financial institutions, serving one in three U.S. households and employing over in 500 working Americans. Regardless of the growing size, scope and reach, Wells Fargo common visions and distinct values form the fabric that holds the company together. As a team member of Wells Fargo, I can say it doesn’t matter what my responsibility is, or my titles, the business of the company is what I work for. Wells Fargo is one of the few American companies doing business for longer than 150 years under its founding name and in its original line of business: banking. Banking has changed in many ways through the years...

...WRITING A SUMMARY-RESPONSE ESSAY In academic contexts, you are often asked to write response essays (sometimes called reaction papers) in which you select an aspect of a text that particularly interests you and respond to it in writing. That is, you will be asked to read something (a journal article, a chapter in a book, a technical report) and to write a summary and an analysis of what you read. The purpose of this type of assignment is to find out whether you understood what you read, what your response to the content of the text is, and whether you can express your response clearly. ...Comparative analysis of the gambling industry in India & the United States of America (USA). Study @ New York University. By: Anupam Sabat, 3C BBA Amity International Business School, Noida. Acknowledgement At the onset, I would like to thank our esteemed faculty at Amity International Business School, Prof. Dr. Arun Sacher, for his encouraging words and his guidance. It was really he who constantly motivated us & pushed us to our limits & in the process, helped us realize & scale newer & higher peaks. He constantly challenged us to strive for excellence & in doing so, enabled us to perform to the best of our abilities. INTRODUCTION Gambling is one of the oldest industries in the world. According to the UK Gambling Act 2005, betting or gambling means ‘the making or accepting of a bet on the outcome of a race, competition or other event or process; the likelihood of anything occurring or not occurring; or whether anything is or is not.’ It is regarded by some as a vice and sinful activity which corrupts the society. Others view gambling as a harmless form of entertainment (I, personally, believe in the latter notion). Some also look at it in economic terms. Legalized casino gambling, be it in Las Vegas, London and/or Macau rose out of the desire for economic stimulus. Overall, society has taken a cautious view of gambling. Only limited types of games are legalized. The reason for gambling being heavily regulated...

Research Paper the Civil Rights Movement

... Jordan HUM410 Contemporary History Instructor: Lila Griffin-Brown October 16, 2011 African Americans’ efforts to stop the segregation of trains and streetcars, the organizations created to contest Jim Crow laws, and segregationists’ attempts to silence the protests all provide rich testimony to the spirit of agitation present even in this bleak time in American history (Kelley, 2010, p.5). The Civil Rights Movement was a struggle by African Americans in the mid-1950s to late 1960s to achieve civil rights equal to those of whites, including equal opportunity in employment, housing, and education, as well as the right to vote, the right of equal access to public facilities, and the right to be free of racial discrimination (Law, 2005).  This movement sought to restore to African Americans the rights of citizenship guaranteed by the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments. The words civil rights often raise images of Martin Luther King Jr. delivering his soul-stirring “I Have a Dream” speech before the nation’s capital. "The practical cost of change for the nation up to this point has been cheap," Martin Luther King Jr. conceded “(LITWACK, 2009). Martin Luther King Jr., and other leaders of the movement anticipated, the movement provoked gains not only for African Americans but also for women, persons with disabilities, and many others. Organized efforts by an African American, W.E.B. Du Bois, who exhorted blacks to fight for the rights was one of the leading figures of this...

Alexander the Great

...ALEXANDER THE GREAT: HERO, HUMANITARIAN, OR MANIAC? INTRODUCTION Alexander the Great is by all historical accounts one of the most influential figures of history. He was the son of Philip II, the King of Macedon who conquered Greece in 338 B.C. but was assassinated soon thereafter. Alexander thus became king at the age of seventeen (in 336 B.C. ), and at the age of twenty he set off to conquer the known world. In a series of lightning campaigns he conquered the Persian Empire that had until then been invincible, and in a certain sense he avenged Greece for the earlier Persian Wars. He marched through Asia Minor, Syria, Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Persia, conquering all before him. In monumental battles he defeated the Persians at Granicus (334 B.C.), Issus (333 B.c.), and Gaugamela (331 B.c.). He drove his soldiers on, crossing the mountains and deserts of central Asia, until he reached the borders of India (326 B.C.). There he finally turned back, retreating to Babylon, where he established his court. At Babylon he fell sick and suddenly died, at only thirty-two years of age (323 B.c.). Alexander hardly had time to organize his new empire, and this makes it all but impossible to know how he would have been as a ruler, instead of a conqueror. After his death, Alexander's empire fell apart and was ruled by his successors, Macedonian generals who became kings of independent areas. Most of these rulers continued Alexander's policies of toleration and cultural integration. Alexander's...

How to Say Nothing in 500 Words Paul Roberts Paul Roberts (1917-1967) was a linguist, a teacher, and a writer at San Jose State College from 1946 to 1960 and at Cornell University from 1962 to 1964. His books on writing, including English Syntax (1954) and Patterns of English (1956), have helped generations of high school and college students become better writers. "How to Say Nothing in 500 Words" is taken from his best-known book, Understanding English (1958). Although written almost fifty years ago, the essay is still relevant for student writers today. Good writing, Roberts tells us, is not simply a matter of filling up a page; rather, the words have to hold the reader's interest, and they must say something. In this essay, Roberts uses lively prose and a step-by-step process to guide the student from the blank page to the finished essay...
