FDR speech the “Commonwealth Club Address’’, was a presidential campaign speech used to notify the people of this new social contract he wanted to. He wanted to stabilize the economy during the great depression by ridding of these massive companies that were putting smaller local business by the people out of business. Marx’s argues that our bodies are meant to labor and that is how we can transform our world through labor. The view FDR uses from Marx’s is that the economy and political power should be in the power of capitalist. This power would then lead to the power over the worker FDR wanted equal opportunity for all men but Marx’s argues that the poor doesn’t have private property therefore there is nothing to share.
