The actions of the members of Shay’s Rebellion went too far. As the government started to seize farms because the farmers were not paying off their debt the farmers were put in jail. Out of all the states Massachusetts was believed to be the most annoyed. The new government was viewed as another form of tyranny. In 1786, the farmers became furious and lashed out. Daniel Shays became their leader, he lead them as they forced courts in the west to close. On page 195, it states that in 1787, Shay led farmers to the federal arsenal in Springfield, Massachusetts. As they were searching for guns and ammunition they were caught by the militia but that did not stop them. The militia later killed four farmers as Shays’s followers scattered. Thomas
