The Big Yellow Landscape The world today is an ever growing system that involves a lot of production and also a lot of selling for these products. The internet, for example, is one of these things that contributed to this. The internet allows for the sale of pretty much anything all around the world. With this come the ever expanding need for natural resources. Just to keep up with how much the world produces and buys, we have started consuming these resources at a rate in which we are not only hurting, but completely destroying the planet. This idea of consuming landscape and natural resources to make the lives of the human race better relates with the song “Big Yellow Taxi” written by Joni Mitchell. We consume a lot of important nature when we grow so rapidly, so we must conserve the earth and be thankful for what we have, and do what we can to preserve what’s left of it. …show more content…
These exhibits are the pieces of art that I enjoyed the most, and I found almost all of them breathtaking. Seeing these photographs made me think of the Nature poems I had read in class. Thinking of how, In “Big Yellow Taxi” by Mitchell, we took so much of the beautiful earth to convenience us. Whether it was inside the earth like natural gas, coal, or other precious metals, or on the earth’s surface like cutting down trees, polluting the air or the sea, thinking of losing these scenes of nature shown by Ross really made me think about how we need to slow down the destruction of our planet. .
