The short story our group chose was “Tell-Tale Heart”. We chose to set it in modern times and keep the story basically the same except for tweaks such as the use of technology. The story only has four characters, the main man that goes insane, the old man, and the two detectives that are called towards the end. The main characters name is Gunter Kroger; this character was the one I was trying to spend the most time with because he is ultimately the most important. The group’s character inspiration for him was Ari Millen from the show Orphan Black. I wanted this character to be extremely well put together and fashionable. I tried to find an everyday, more business appropriate boot. That’s when I found the Chukka boot. After that I had to choose accessories. While looking through research pictures I kept seeing a really nice watch so I looked it up and found one similar. I loved the sleek all black look, a very simple look to add to this sophisticated character. I topped it all off with a wool trench coat because that is one thing I loved about the original inspiration outfit. The second character is the old man. The first image that popped into my head was sweet, smiling, grandpa type of character. It was extremely difficult to find inspiration images of old men that weren’t creepy in some way. Eventually I found some. The colors were muted and brighter than those that Gunter wears. I wanted the old man to be a beacon of light in the insanity that is Gunter. I picked out a dress shirt with a sweater vest as the top. I loved the look of the inspirations pictures with a sweater so that is what I went with. The pants I chose were extremely baggy compared to those of Gunter. I really wanted a strong contrast between the slightly delusional main character and the sweet man he
