The Greek pottery piece I have selected is the MacMillan Aryballos. An aryballos is a small vase typically used in ancient Greece. The MacMillan aryballos was discovered by Malcolm MacMillan in 1889 the aryballos was founded in Thebes, Greece. The aryballos is decorated using black-figure technique. Minatare warriors decorate the first level of the vase followed by a second layer of horse riding warriors holding spears. The third level of the vase illustrates running rabbits; this implies the theme of a hare-hunt. “The warriors are locked in combat, thrusting their spears, jostling for position, or falling to the ground.
