Feedback is provided in both oral and written form. Our practice it to write down all feedback then discuss the feedback with the assessor. Each assessor also can provide feedback on the IQA process during the feedback session.

Constructive feedback is provided following sampling assessment decisions and observations of assessment practice.

Once the feedback has been given the assessor may be given an action plan to follow. This could include attending training sessions, work shadowing, additional qualifications, etc and will be followed up as required but no later than one month after being implemented.

Where no specific actions are required but an assessor could benefit from undertaking some continuous professional development I offer …show more content…
Standardisation ensures that the consistency and quality of our assessment and verification is fair, appropriate and equal. The process of standardisation ensures the basic criteria of validity, authenticity, currency, sufficiency and competence of the process of judging assessment decisions therefore ensuring as a centre we are meeting awarding body requirements.

Should a learner disagree with an assessment decision they can follow our appeals procedure which consists of 3 stages

Appeals process stage 1
The learner should approach the trainer/assessor and discuss why they don’t agree with a certain decision or action. The trainer/assessor must consider their reason and explain to the candidate why they feel they haven’t met certain criteria and what they would have to do to prove their competency. This should be provided in writing and relate specifically to the standards relevant to the assessment decision. If the candidate remains unhappy with the decision, the candidate then completes an appeal form which is sent to the IQA.

Stage 2
The IQA then reviews all evidence and assessment records to consider the appeal. The IQA will then decide from the evidence they have obtained and inform the candidate as soon as possible. The decision will come both orally and in
