I have found that stereotypes are often the foundation for our beliefs and fears; however, there are always unknown factors that contribute to the formation of these stereotypes. As Crash opens, a black man, Detective Graham Waters, speaks about the nature of Los Angeles and the need for people to crash into each other. “It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass.
