Introduction
The primary goal for the company is customer's satisfaction and if company can not reach perfection in this area then all the processes are worthless. All parts of the value chain and everything in the enterprise must be healthy for realization of competitive business processes. If the company wants strong and long lasting value chain all the links within the chain must be prepared to overpass all existing problems. The principle of Just-in-time is to eliminate sources of manufacturing waste by getting right quantity of raw materials and producing the right quantity of products in the right place at the right time.
JIT - History and Philosophy
JIT is a Japanese management philosophy which has been applied in practice since the early 1970s in many Japanese manufacturing organizations. It was first developed and perfected within the Toyota manufacturing plants.
Problems before JIT system were that companies can not properly calculate their material flows. Also, there were problems with warehouses because there were situations that in one moment warehouses are full with stocks, and in other they are almost empty. Because of these problems it was really difficult for engineers and managers to deal with logistics. Moreover, the company would have no goods still in process at the end of the day, and all goods completed during the day would have been shipped immediately to customers. "just-in-time" means that raw materials are received just in time to go into production, manufacturing parts are completed just in time to be assembled into products, and products are completed just in time to be shipped to customers. In Just in time manufacturing, the traditional emphasize of keeping everyone busy is abandoned in favor of producing only what customers actually want.
Benefits of JIT
The main benefit of JIT is that it can improve production efficiency and

...With Directories Lab Title: Working with Directories Student Name: Date: Prepare this Lab Report when you have completed and lab assignment. Include any charts, graphs required to complete the lab. Refer to your initial lab plan to respond to the first questions. 1. Define the problem you were solving in this lab. (If any) This weeks lab was to familiarize ourselves with the Linux directory structure by creating, moving, and deleting files and directories using the “vim Editor.” 2. What challenges did you meet in working towards completing the Lab? The instructions were straight forward. I just had to look a few times, since we were asked to skip several instructions to focus on the main parts of the tutorial in our book assignment. [Side Note]: Many students seemed to have problem accessing the Lab for this week. I did not seem to have any troubles loading the Lab Mentor, unless the internal issue was hotfixed. 3. Were you successful in solving the problem? Did you use methods you learned in class? If yes, explain your solution, if no, explain the solution you did use. Please be specific, and provide a detailed description of your solution. I just kept the iLab assignment and book assignment side-by-side as I was reading through the instructions. The main task was multitasking several windows at the same time (i.e., iLab instructions, OS Book, Lab Mentors, Word 2010). TO Download Complete Tutorial With Screen Shots, Hit...

Accounting

...out of curiosity, people will not discourage me without witnessing or knowing it right? That’s why I want to study this topic for me to understand and to know why most accountancy students fail in the Philippines and for me not to fail my chosen course or my accountancy subjects. And I also want to study this topic for others to know that Accountancy is not that hard if you just try you’re best to understand it and give some time to answer or compute all the problems. II. Background of the Study According to my research and resources most accountancy students fail because “accounting assignments/problems are very time consuming and sometimes not easy to understand” (Francisco Vazquez, 2012). And those students don’t want their minds to explode and waste their time to come up with an answer or solution that they choose to play video games or surf the net than answering their math question/s. And these are also some habits why most accountancy students fail: 1. Not Attending Class 2. Not Doing Assignments 3. Not Taking Notes 4. Relying on Other Students 5. Not Managing Time Well 6. Procrastinating / Doing Last Minute Work 7. Not Following Instructions or Directions 8. Not Participating in Class 9. Mind-Blocking / Negative Thinking 10. Blaming Your Teacher...

Procrastination on Doing Academic Assignments

...Procrastination on Doing Academic Assignments Andi Nur Chalishah (AG 1) Have you ever been in a situation where you are overwhelmed by assignments? One of the possible reasons of why you could be in that situation is because sometimes you tend to postpone what is necessary, and instead you do activities that are more fun but less necessary. This situation is referred as procrastination. Procrastination seems to make a student’s life more pleasant but it adds several bad effects such as anxiety, stress, and even bad grades on their academic assignments. When you are doing an assignment on the very last minute of the deadline, sometimes you feel anxious because you are afraid if you will not have enough time to finish it. Nevertheless, you do not realize anxiety arises from your procrastination habit. Sometimes you tend to stop finishing your assignments to do other fun activities because you think you could do it later. Students who procrastinate on doing assignment think they are waiting for the right moment to do it when the fact is they are just waiting for the high level of anxiety to force them to do it. Realizing that you still have a bunch of unfinished assignments brings you stress. It causes a big possibility of losing focus on doing assignments and the worst part is it will lead you to failure on doing your assignments. Procrastination truly gives bad effects for college students on doing their assignments. Procrastinating to do other fun activities surely gives...

How to Not Procrastinate

...organizational skills are a big role in the way you may procrastinate. Many people may just need help in the organization department in order to not procrastinate and others may need help dealing with many more issues they have with the issue of procrastination. I believe in order to help prevent or totally eradicate procrastination from your work method; you must first look at yourself. Are you struggling with confidence or is it simply that you are too much of a perfectionist and nothing you seem to write is up to par? Well, the first step would be to stop over thinking everything you decide to put down on paper; it probably isn’t as bad as you think it is. When you stop over thinking, writing will come a lot easier and less forced than before and you may feel that you don't have to wait until the last minute to write your assignments. Also, with putting less pressure on yourself and constantly forcing yourself to rewrite the assignment over and over again; you’ll feel the weight of an elephant being lifted off your chest. Good organizational skills have been taught to you since you were a young child, for instance, making sure your toys or other objects were put away properly, but somehow most of us lost this skill long ago, or seemed to put it in the back of our minds. By having good organizational skills you are able to make sure you actually have time to put aside for your writing assignment and other activities that are involved with your daily...

Classical Conditioning

...students is putting assignments aside to get extra hours of sleep. There are times where I have put off assignments just to get a good night sleep and times where I have to crunch up the assignments and put off sleep because of deadlines. I am torn between the two decisions: to sleep or do homework/study. In order to look into this issue, we will have to explore how sleep plays a significant role in one’s life and the process of decision-making and time management in psychology. College was a huge transition from highschool due to the new settings and workload the courses have to offer. As students transition from high school to college, the students’ experiences are still adapted to the high school setting, which they have gained through repetitions throughout their high school career. The learning process perspective of psychology demonstrates this reasoning through classical conditioning. In this aspect, the unconditioned stimulus is that the workload for high school is not overwhelming so the unconditioned response for that would be to just do the homework then go to sleep. But over time, I see that the homework assignments are too simple and I did not look over them, so instead of doing the...

Personal Narrative: A Career As A Writer

...my head down, I had just walked back to my desk, ready to accept failure. Being one of the last ones to finish the assignments, I had thought for sure I wouldn’t have gotten a good grade on it. As the teacher was reading through the essays, she called me up to her desk. She hadn’t called up anyone else. At that moment I felt my heart sink. Was I in trouble? Did I do that bad that she had to stop mid-reading to tell me? What did this mean? But what she said next would be the best confidence booster I had ever had in class, and would stick with me forever.. It was my Junior year in high school, I had been submerged in homework and assignments like I was swimming in the ocean; up to my neck. I never considered myself an “amazing” writer.. There was a day where I had to do both and it was really important for a class I was taking. Mrs. Bridges’ class was one of the spoken about class amongst students. That class either made you a better writer/reader, or it gave you more work than you could handle. Of course I was nervous about taking the class, but I knew if I did succeed I would benefit from it. This day just so happened to be one of the biggest assignment days we had planned. Two quizzes and an essay due, in class. I pulled out all...

App Development

...CS193P IPHONE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FALL 2011 Assignment I: Calculator Objective This assignment has two parts. The goal of the first part of the assignment is to recreate the demonstration given in the second lecture. Not to worry, you will be given very detailed walk-through instructions in a separate document. It is important, however, that you understand what you are doing with each step of that walk-through because the second part of the assignment (this document) is to add a couple of extensions to your calculator which will require similar steps to those taken in the walk-through. This assignment must be submitted using the submit script (see the class website for details) by the end of the day next Wednesday. You may submit it multiple times if you wish. Only the last submission will be counted. For example, it might be a good idea to go ahead and submit it after you have done the walk-through and gotten that part working. If you wait until the last minute to try to submit and you have problems with the submission script, you’ll likely have to use one of your valuable late days. Be sure to check out the Hints section below! Materials • Before you start this assignment, you will need to download and install the iOS SDK and Xcode 4 from http://developer.apple.com or using the App Store on Mac OSX. E-Learning vs Traditional Learning

...traditional classroom, but to also attend virtually. Therefore, if a student works full time and wants to attend school – he now has the option to attend online. Despite sharing some apparent similarities, the differences between traditional and online learning environments are extraordinary. Traditional and E-learning are suitable learning environments that have different executions in (a) scheduling and participation, (b) student/teacher relationships, and (c) assignments and test. The first distinctions between traditional learning and e-learning are scheduling and participation. Traditional classroom settings require a fixed environment, which reduces the amount of students that can learn at the same time. However, an online class allows thousands/millions of students to take the same course at one time. Moreover, traditional classes are not flexible. Traditional classrooms require that students and teachers show up for classes at a certain time, while online classrooms can be assessed anytime during the day. Therefore, traditional classrooms would not be an option for full time employees or mothers because they could not meet the attendance requirement. Furthermore, while attendance plays a very important part in participation with both a traditional and e-learning class, they are executed very differently. In an online class, your participation is mandatory and attendance is based on how many times you...

Assignment-Sheet Self Assessment

...Assignment Sheet Self-Assessment For my universe I decided to go with the X-Men (superheroes) universe because I really love superheroes and what they can do. Going back to the syllabus I had Logan, a.k.a. Wolverine, as the teacher of a history class about mutant history. And just for a quick overview of Logan, his personality is somewhat of a “dick” personality. So whenever there is a rude or offensive comment in the assignment sheet, which is intended. For my assignment sheet I decided to go with the class writing a paper. This is because pretty much every class that someone has taken, they have had to write some form of paper, whether it was for extra credit or for an assignment, I thought that this would be a good time for the students...

Procrastination

...getting help from your instructor, avoiding whining and people who whine and complain, and forcing yourself to start. I’m In the Same Boat Procrastination is so much fun, not! When procrastinating you think it makes things so much easier. Just like tonight, I have had this assignment for 6 days and rather than doing it the first day it was assigned to me I waited until 10:26 pm to actually write this paper. Why did I wait so long? Well, I went to Ohio this weekend to celebrate my best friends 21st birthday, anyone in their right mind would say “I have a paper to write, how about I not wait until I’ve driven for 3 hours to get home after a party to do homework” but then there’s me, who thought not completing the assignment early on in the week somehow gave me more time to do other things. I never said I was the brightest blub of the bunch. Excuses are the easiest thing to think about when wanting to put off an assignment, I’m too tired right now, I can get it done tomorrow, no I won’t be extremely tired or exhausted after a weekend for planning a party and babysitting everyone there. Sometimes excuses can seem like logical reasons to not do things, but really you become more stressed when you put things off then you would be if you would just skip that nap and do your work. Your Instructor Maybe? For some, going to your instructor isn’t something that even seems like an option when it comes to needing help. However, your instructors are...

All the assignments are accomplished through “Forums,” similar to Blogs. The teacher posts a discussion questions and other assignments in the forum. All the classmates respond to the discussion questions and you receive feedback from the other students. All the responses thread onto each other creating what is called, “Threaded Discussion”. Are your conversations Live? “Well,” Probably not, but it is possible. What is great about forums is I can post my responses at anytime of the day from any computer. All the students post their assignments and Discussion Questions when they find it convenient for them, just as long as they are not late turning in their assignments. This is called, “Asynchronous Communication” How do you have time for school? The flexibility of this Asynchronous Communication allows time to do all the other thinks I need to do.
