...(3)Knowledge Management(KM)is a fashionable business term. Explain what is meant by knowledge and knowledge management(KM), and evaluate why KM is central to the success of an organization. Knowledge Management (KM) is a newly developed business term. Thanks to the booming of information technology (especially the internet) from the 1990s, people could get information and knowledge much easier than before. As the integration of individuals, organizations need to process and manage even more information and knowledge. Therefore, the art of knowledge management becomes very crucial for modern organizations. Before talking about the term Knowledge Management, first we need to know clearly what knowledge is. The definition for knowledge is a traditional debate topic among the philosophers. The most well known definition is as Plato suggested; knowledge is a statement which must be justified, true and believed. However, as modern people, we need to define it in a modern way, just as Oxford English Dictionary describes knowledge as (i) expertise, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject, (ii) what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information or (iii) awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. ...describe web 2.0, is that it is a term used to describe the second generation of content that can be viewed on the internet. In order to fully understand what web 2.0 is, one must have a basic knowledge of how the internet works, and a little about how things used to be. In the past, most web pages would consist of basic graphics, a few photos and a email link. The page would not change until the owner updated it, and only basic interactions could be accomplished. As technology advanced, many different programs allowed the internet to become more interactive; allowing visitors the ability to customize pages, add content and essentially make the internet work to suit their personal needs and tastes. Websites incorporated vivid graphics and animations, pages that updated with real time information, and the ability to search sites to buy products via electronic storefronts. The term Web 2.0 was coined to describe this ‘next generation’ of internet experience. Web 2.0 has not only allowed business to grow and expand via the internet, but it has spawned a whole new way for people to connect via social networking. There have been more advances in technologies, and creative ways to use technology to help users find products, services and businesses that they need. The drawback with so much customization and information that can be obtained via the internet is that an end user can have a hard time discerning what is accurate and what is not. This can be seen on sites like...

...that means the entire world — not just the richest, most developed countries. We’ve made good progress, and today we connect more than billion people through Facebook each month. But as we started thinking about connecting the next 5 billion people, we realized something important: the vast majority of people in the world don’t have any access to the internet. Below, I’ll discuss the state of the internet today, why connectivity is such an important problem for the world, the major issues we’ll need to solve — technical, social and economic — and then I’ll outline a rough plan to accomplish this goal. I’m focused on this because I believe it is one of the greatest challenges of our generation. The unfair economic reality is that those already on Facebook have way more money than the rest of the world combined, so it may not actually be profitable for us to serve the next few billion people for a very long time, if ever. But we believe everyone deserves to be connected. The state of the internet Today, only billion people — a little more than one third of the world’s population — have internet access. Even more surprising, internet adoption is growing by less than 9% each year, which is slow considering how early we are in its development and that it is expected to slow further. There are more than 5 billion mobile phones in the world, with almost 4 billion feature phones and more than 1 billion smartphones. As smartphone prices come down, many people who currently have feature...

The advantages of having a small online business range from lower start-up costs than brick-and-mortar operations to more streamlined administration. But successfully running an online business is far from easy. The moment a business decides to enter the online world, the very first challenge is creating a reliable website. A good designer can accomplish this, but a high-quality website is more than just visual attraction; it should also function smoothly and be designed for carrying out business. So the first issue that we faced is lack of computer expertise. We needs to possess more than a basic knowledge of the Internet to do business online. Necessary skills include knowing how to set up a website for business purposes and how to market our business online. Instead of this, we had do observation or google searching and read for relevant article or teaching materials either technology resources or visitor engagement resources. Another issue is limitations of business types. Some types of businesses may not be suited for the Internet, particularly those products involve the use of the senses. For example, if the unique selling point of our product is its pleasant aroma. After we decides to selling snacks online we just realise that we are facing this problem. So we...

...the extent to which age, level of education, nature of work and experience affects the financial literacy levels of Master of Business Administration students of Federal University of Technology, Owerri Nigeria. It equally assesses the extent to which gender difference discriminates in financial decision making, as there seems to be inconclusive notion that female students are better at financial decision making than their male counterpart. Students who took a three credit hours course in Financial Economics during the 2009/2010 academic session as well as participated in a financial literacy capacity program jointly organized by GTBank Plc and SIFE a part of the continuous assessment for the course constituted the study population. Quota and simple random sampling was adopted in the selection of 165 respondents whose responses provided the primary data used for analysis. Correlation coefficients and linear regression tools were adopted for analysis. The conclusion of the study based on results obtained is that gender difference though having inverse correlation with financial literacy level is not a significant predictor of financial literacy level, implying that there is no valid evidence to substantiate the opinion that female students are better at financial decision making than their male counterparts.
