...was conducting his security walk in D Pod. While Officer Kahn was in D Pod, I noticed inmates in C Pod grouping in the bathroom. One inmate had taken his shirt off and was looking towards the back of the bathroom. He appeared to be trying to gain traction with his shoes and the bathroom floor as if he were getting ready to run. Another inmate was standing at the bathroom sink and a third inmate was standing in front of the first urinal. Two other inmates were standing outside the bathroom entryway. The shirtless inmate (inmate had tattoos on back and arms) walked towards the back of the bathroom out of camera view. I made a radio call for the floor officer to 10-17 (go to) C Pod. Shortly after, it appeared as though the inmate with his shirt off was engaged in a fight with someone in the bathroom. The same inmate fell to the bathroom floor near the entryway. There was a partial view of another inmate fighting with the shirtless inmate. I then made a radio call to Security Control for an inmate fight in D3, C Pod bathroom. Sgt. Johanning A9075, Officers Kahn B3889,...

...Ashley ran up to her room, grabbed her razor from the hiding place in her dresser. She turned to her mirror, stared at her reflection while she whispered " Look at yourself, you're worthless, pathetic, nobody while ever love you, you will forever be alone." She walked towards the bathroom, tightly gripping her razor in a closed fist. Tears ran down her cheeks as she locked the bathroom door and slithered into the bathtub. She rolled up her black sweatshirt that hid her day old scabbed cuts. She ran her fingers up and down the red cuts on her arm, she pressed down and felt the burn of her many slices. She took the razor and ran the cool metal lightly against her skin, testing her skins resistance against the sharp edge of her razor. She closed her eyes as she dug the razor into her skin, to take the pain away. The crimson red blood flowed as she cried, it seeped through her skin and down her arm. As the blood dribbled down it outlined the aging scars, that gave her skin a light tint of red. She bit her lip and cut another line into her pale wrist, right on top of a blue vein, just to find relief from her everyday problems and pain. But, this time she cut too deep, she tried to find too much relief. Blood spewed from her fresh open wound onto her, her clothes, and into the tub. She sat there watching herself bleed, telling herself she deserved this. Thoughts ran through her mind, who is going to find her? Will anyone even miss her or notice she is gone? Probably not Ashley was just...

...Ashton Ben February 13, 2014 ENG 101 MWF 12 # 2 Profile My Island Escape Ever since I was a little kid I knew where I always dreamed of living. My dream home would be more than I could ever imagine. It would be on a bright and warm island. With the white sand all around me, bright from the glistening of the sun, to the feel of the breeze blowing up to the shore and the sound of the beautiful aqua blue waves. As I walk up to the house all I imagine to see is a big porch overlooking the island. I see a two story house with maybe 3 bedrooms or so, not too big. It should be rustic, in a light colored wood or a nice colored plaster, with big windows where I can sit on the windowsill and look out on the island. It will be bright with a light sense and feel to it. Sitting with crisp white rocking chairs so that every evening as the sun goes down I can lose myself in the calm sound of the waves. Where I can be evincible over anything and everything life throws at me. What will be light and cozy from the inside as if you were sitting in the sand, relaxing and not a care in the world about anything stressful. The living room will have huge windows overlooking the gorgeous blue water and will give the room a nice lightning in the day and when the evening comes there will be plenty of candles lit for the warmth feel in the room. With a built in couch all the way down the room so me and my little family could spend hours playing games. The kitchen is a very important room...

You better not leave a mess!! If you so happen to drink too much over the course of the weekend and feel the need to get sick, in a place other than the bathroom toilet, sink or even the garbage and I wake up to a mess I will drag you out of bed and hose you down… Then you will clean it up yourself!! There is no Pool unless you bring it yourself and as far as a work-out room, go run your lazy ass outside and get some fresh air. And if you’re feeling ambitious...

...The Life of a Rat I ratted myself out and it changed my life. I was on the AB honor roll in the ninth grade. This was true until I met a girl, who I thought was my friend, named Megan. By the end of the first semester, I had dropped out of volleyball, glee club and had started ditching classes and smoking in the restroom. One day we heard the band was out on a field trip so we went to their personal bathroom to smoke and hang out, just the two of us. Turns out, she wanted to be nosy. She started going through the teacher’s desk and papers. I admit I took a cool looking pen from his desk. We were laughing and playing around. Megan opened a file cabinet drawer and pulled out an envelope, full of money. The band had been having car washes and other fundraisers to raise money. I felt a lump in my throat. I knew what was happening, and I couldn’t stop it. She put the envelope in her shirt and ran back to the bathroom. I had no idea how much was in it, and a part of me did not want to know. Locking the door behind us, Megan reached in the envelope and pulled a small amount out and shoved it in my hand and said, “Here, now, do not say a word and no one will ever know it was us.” I had such an uneasy feeling, about all of it. The bell rang and we went to our lockers and then to lunch. With the money (which was only $120, but back then was like having $1,000 when you’re that young) in my sock the intercom came on and was telling us to all head to the gym. The whole school was...

...Llamas 1 Estefania Llamas CWL 100-01 Intro to World Lit. Professor Cooper M/W 9:30-10:45 am Class # 3837, Section 1 The Fate of the Cockroach Al-Hakim’s Fate of the Cockroach was first published in 1966. In my opinion, Hakim intended to portray humans as arrogant and self-centered. This play is a form of absurdist drama because it does not demonstrate some ideal of perfection, instead it demonstrates that people by nature are self-centered and power plays a vital role in this play. Another important factor is nurture vs. nature. I The beginning of the play displays power in the king and queen’s marriage. The king cockroach thinks he is better and the queen is mean to her husband, but she has more power than him. The king is admiring his long whiskers and she tells him to shut up and not to have pride in them. As a solution to defeat the ants, the minister cockroach suggests that they brainstorm what they do and don’t do, “Ants have discipline, they sacrifice and cockroaches do not (page 596).” The cockroaches argue to determine how to take action against the ants that are so organized and dependent on one another, while the cockroaches by nature self-reliant. For example, by nature I can say that I achieve success from my genetics or by nurture I achieved my success because of the environment or surroundings, in which I was taught. Llamas 2 On page 597, the savant says: “Yes, I once saw-a very long time ago, in the early days of my youth-several cockroaches gathered...

...I wake up one morning and let my fuzzy vision clear up and turn my head towards the tiny black clock, resting on my night stand. The dim red numbers glow 10:30. Late again. I hop out of bed and fly to the bathroom. If I breeze through my daily routine, I could be out of the house in 15 minutes. First things first, drain the weasel. When I got to the toilet I thought I had to pee but something was knocking on the back door. So I pulled my pants all the way down and let nature take it's course. As I near the end I glance to the right and there's no toilet paper... Well, nothing I can't fix in the shower. I fling my clothes to the floor and fly in the shower. Letting my skin get nice and wet, I reach over for the soap and it looks like a wet hamster on a sunny day. How did all of this hair get there? I really don’t have time to pick this off, so a quick rinse was order. I turn the water off and head for the medicine cabinet, brush my teeth and fly back to my room like a ninja on caffeine, get dressed, and as I'm running for the door, I stub my toe on the threshold and fall face first into the stone wall in front of my door. I recollected myself with the throbbing pain on my face mocking me along the way. I hop in the car and begin to drive off. I hit the end of the block and the car shuts off. This can't be happening... I have to be at work in 10 minutes and it's a 40 minute drive without traffic. A man walks by and I run to him desperately not caring if he knew about cars or not...

...before I left for school. I just should’ve loved him harder. Should’ve accepted his unconventional love, filled with spurts of immense happiness as well sadness. I should have given my heart to him as fully as I always wanted to, without fear or hesitation. But there I was, stuck at work on a shitty October afternoon, tears sneaking unknowingly down my face. So I returned back to the counter, ready to focus on work again and find a distraction from the heart quickly shattering inside me. I smile at the next customer and ask, “Anything else I can get for you tonight ma’am?” She responds, “Nah, just an assload of coffee because I have two prelims tomorrow”. So I hand her the large red eye and send her on her way before I run back to the bathroom for yet another crying fit. Hiding my face form my manager, who tries to force me to go back up to the counter. Having locked the door behind me, I crawl into a ball against the door, wishing I could escape from the pain erupting from within my now broken heart. I stayed in that ball for ten minutes, enjoying the silence of that small room; ignoring the knocks of sorority girls against the door...

...against modern society. The story is narrated from Charles’ perspective and the narrator is a third person, nom-omniscient narrator. The story takes place in the Acorn Street Grammar School. We can’t be sure about the historical time, but two posters on the bulletin board in the hall within the school indicate that the historical time might take place around the 1970’s in USA. The woodsy owl made its first appearance in 1971 and officer friendly was an officer in the U.S Marine Corps who travelled around to schools in the 1960’s to the 1980’s. Within the school, the story especially takes place in the third-grade classroom, the basement and the bathroom inside the basement. The basement is generally described as where the boilers are kept and well-groomed ladies and gentlemen would never go down there but they would rather go to the bathroom. These two places throughout the story confuse Charles, who finds it rather hard to decide where to go to urinate. Charles is a...

...I have noticed that in the bathrooms and around the school there is a lot of rubbish lying around. I personally think that it gives the school a 'dirty' look. I know within the school they have rubbish duty periods were the whole period all students get a area to pick up a bag of rubbish, this helps reduce the factor of the school looking dirty and unhygienic. It is a good way to ensure that they are looking out for the hygiene. Another area I have noticed are the bathrooms, there is never any soap in the dispensers which isn't hygienic at all. I personally try avoid using the bathrooms during school as I also found out that not all locks work on the toilets and recently the boys bathrooms only just got locks on there doors. But I understand that the school cant control were all the resources go, but I think that if they get monitored every so often to ensure that there is soap for students to wash there hands. Overall I think that the areas of hygiene around school lacks and can easily be...
