Best At Life Triathlon Competition Before starting the triathlon we had to recruit 5 people to be part of it. After, we determined who was going to take part, we had to come up with the 3 triathlon games. One had to have units in time, so the game we chose was; how long can you stand on one foot after being spun around. The second had to be in length or height, so the game was: How far can you hop. Finally the last game was sucesses out of 10, the game we chose was; how many paper balls can you shoot into a garbage can that’s 10feet away. In order to get all of our data we each tried each game three times and wrote down our data in a table such as:
EVENT 1 (time): How long can you stand on one foot, after being spun around? Lucy | 3min | 5min | 8min | Tiffany | 5min | 7min | 8min | Skye | 3min | 2min | 3min | Seanie | 1min | 3min | 3min | Amanda | 4min | 5min | 6min |

EVENT 2 (length): How far can you hop? Lucy | 2ft | 2ft | 3ft | Tiffany | 3ft | 4ft | 5ft | Skye | 2ft | 4ft | 1ft | Seanie | 1ft | 3ft | 2ft | Amanda | 2ft | 4ft | 2ft |

EVENT 3 (# of successes out of 10): Shooting paper balls in a trashcan 10 times Lucy | 0/10 | 2/10 | 0/10 | Tiffany | 2/10 | 0/10 | 3/10 | Skye | 3/10 | 0/10 | 0/10 | Seanie | 0/10 | 1/10 | 1/10 | Amanda | 2/10 | 2/10 | 0/10 |

After, we got all of the data we had to determined if each test was a Normal Distribution in order to make a graph. At first we noticed that test 2 & 3 were weird because their median and Q1 in test 2 were the same. When we made box and whiskers graphs and only test 1 made sense. This is how we determined that:

After looking at each Graph we felt like test 1's graph was the only one that was close to being normally distributed. But we could not tell weather it was normally distributed, because there was only 15 results , which

Best Four Years of Your Life

...The Best Four Years of Your Life Growing up you always hear from adults and current college students that college is one of the best experiences of your life. It is your motivation all through out school to do your homework, study and get good grades so you are able to get in to any college you want. I remember my first college tour it was to University of South Carolina instantly I fell in love. Once I experienced the campus for the first time I knew it was a place I could call home. Getting my acceptance letter was one of the best days of my life before I knew it summer was over and it was move in day. Little did I know there were a lot of things I did not know about being a college student that I am gradually starting to figure out. There are a lot of changes that come with going to college and the way in which you deal with them all depends on you as a person. One of the hardest problems people tend to face coming to college is going to a new place where you really don’t know that many people and there are a ton of new faces. Through out my life I’ve always had to move a lot with my dad being in the military, I hated it at the time but now I am grateful for it because it made me who I am today. Always having to make new friends made me outgoing and not afraid to walk up to someone new and start talking to them. It made me not afraid to try new things and made me learn how to adapt to new places and new schools. Coming to college is such an exciting experience because it’s...

The Best Things in Life Is Definitely Not Free

...Free speech zone in universities Many campuses congratulate themselves on their sociability when they establish small free-speech zones where political things can be scheduled. Once I read in the Washington Post year ago, Texas Tech’s 28,000 students had a free-speech gazebo(the name of the free speech zone) that was big. Zones limit such free speech because they require students to get their permission for activities from school heads beforehand, which can then lead to discrimination. There are three main notes mentioned in the Washington post: At First, these are actually no means the types of free speech violations we see on campus. A look at FIRE’s case history it shows the true extent of threats to free speech on campus and the many ways they do it themselves. Second, speech code ratings of more than 400 universities around the country will provide you with a fuller appreciation of the many types of policies that indulge on the free speech rights of students.  Finally, most of my examples are with the cases at public universities, which are made by the First law. We may have seen many of these same cases; however, at the private universities many of which may not be legally made by the First law, still make more promises of free speech to their students in their policies. Private institutions are controlled by these promises which courts in many states have said as strict contracts. In California private secular colleges are required by law to afford students the same...

How to Live the Best Life You Can

...HOW TO LIVE THE BEST LIFE YOU CAN Crystel Santos 1. Start off by looking at yourself. Not in comparison to anyone else, but just look at yourself. Ask yourself these questions. * Who am I? * Where do I currently stand in my life? * What role do I play in others’ lives? (Sister, mother, friend, role model, teacher, partner, etc..) * Am I living to my fullest potential? * Am I happy? Fulfilled? At peace? * Why, or why not? 2.One huge mistake people make in their lives is sheltering themselves from pain. Hiding from the truth. Denying reality. DEATH exists. Become at peace with that. MURDERS and RAPE and DISEASES happen. Accept it. Once you face the facts that life isn't all rainbows and butterflies, you will be more prepared to handle tough situations, and you won't take disappointment as such a shock. 3.Determine which people in your life are actually worth your care. Eliminate all the fake friends and the users from your list, and list only those who make you feel happy when you're around them. Now make an effort to spend more time around those people, and less time around the people who do no good for you or your life. It's okay to be a little selfish in this sense every once in a while. Just be sure you give back an equal amount to what you take (and that doesn't only mean physical things, but emotional needs, as well). 4.Look on the dark side. Yes, this isn't a typo, the DARK side. Because often times, when dealing...

There have been a number of researches establishing relationship between work-life balance and organizational effectiveness. However, not many researchers have attempted to capture or review best practices in implementing work-life balance programs. This paper is a humble essay to explore if there are indeed any best practices in implementing work-life balance –a catchphrase which most of the companies love to swear by –and whether a holistic model for efficient work-life balance program can evolve from what the companies at the top are following on the ground. The authors have also tried to present a critique of gaps in current work-life balance programs. The paper raises more questions than it answers and thus provides enough fodder for the intellectual investigation on the theme. Keywords: Work-life balance, Best Practices, Organizational Excellence Introduction Work-life balance programs have attracted the attention of corporate leaders in recent times thanks to significance of such initiatives in augmenting organizational...

Freshman Year: The Best Four Years Of My Life

...Looking back at my past fourteen-year old self is something I never wanted to have to do, but here goes anyway: They say high school’s supposed to be the best four years of your life. Freshman year held that idea alive in me for a short period of time. At first, I must admit that I was a pretentious, overly blatant asshole (still am) with no concern for others except for himself with an ounce of vulnerability wrapped up in that awkward looking, dark, wanna-be, “ghetto nerd” facade. I didn’t really understand what exactly I wanted to do with the time I had at Arroyo, so I just stuck with what I knew best: running and keeping my head in the clouds with the whole concept of having a significant other for the time being while attempting to maintain...

College Admissions Essay: The Best Time Of My Life

...“Life’s not out to get you, despite the things you’ve been through…” A quote I will never forget. As a young aspiring musician, there will always be hardships and sinkholes. Three years of work turned to six, and now to nine. Although I fell apart after these fateful days, my achy bones tell a story along with my tattered clothes from each night after that December. 13 year old Jenaro, a wannabe local musician, has his first show only days away from turning 14. The event drew closer and I envisioned it being the best time of my career, possibly my life. That fateful night brought panic attacks, anger, and my deep seeded self-loathing up front to the masses, and I failed myself. A tightly packed crowd watched on as a younger me broke down under my internal turmoil reaching its boiling point. Repression set in, I was certain I’d never pursue music after that night. Secluded, I hid myself for close to a year after that day. I was humbled by my experience, but deeply I knew I couldn’t just give up forever. Mid way through the spring, my phone vibrated in my...

“the Teenage Years Are the Best Years of One’s Life.” Do You Agree?

...“The teenage years are the best years of one’s life.” Do you agree? “Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it.” These were the words of the late Irving Berlin, one of America’s most prolific songwriters in history. Indeed, one’s perception on his or her best years of life would largely depend on how he or she regards life. In my perspective, the idea of the best years would be the years where one experiences the most happiness, where the years are filled with love and laughter, while teenage years refers to the age 13 to 19 period. To many, the teenage years are without doubt the best years of their life, however to that many number of people, there are many more out there who do not agree. In a general overview, there are many cases that supports or contradicts the statement, so let us go further into this issue and take a stand. The teenage years have often been considered as the carefree years, free of worries and responsibilities. Being carefree has also been cited as one of the reasons that made teenage years the best years of one’s life. However, to what extent is that true? In my opinion, the best indication of being carefree is stress levels. According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, American teenagers experience their highest level of stress on an average of 6.5days per month. This is considerably low compared to countries like China and Singapore, where the competitiveness resulted in teenagers experiencing...

Personal Narrative: High School, The Best Four Years Of My Life

...“High school, the best four years of your life.” The way I feel it's going to be the more stressful four years of my life. Going to night school is nerve racking and quite frankly terrifying. I'm going to go from being the oldest grade in the middle school to the youngest in high school. I am excited, however for some things. I'm most nervous for the upperclassmen and assignments and I'm most excited for the freedom. Ninth grade, freshman year, fresh meat, no matter what you call it freshmen are the youngest. Upperclassman make me feel uneasy since, we have classes with them now. In the middle school you saw another grade one or two times a day. I am nervous I will look stupid in front of the upperclassmen. I might have a mental breakdown if I feel in front of them; especially if it was during the beginning of the school year. I am friends with some upperclassmen, but it is still scary to me. I am not looking forward to having classes with any of the older grades. I scheduled to take higher classes during freshman year. As I do believe I am very capable of learning the information, I am nervous I will get a lot of projects or assignments I won't be able to complete. I get overwhelmed quite often and it worries me that I will be overwhelmed twice as bad. Homework, projects, and essays all add up very quickly in my mind so, having of...

...Travon Gaines English A FYE- 6099 12 November 2014 Lifetime Agreements Don Miguel Ruiz novel The Four Agreements is about applying four agreements to your life and discovering the true meaning of life while learning how to find freedom, true happiness, and love. This author explains how one should live their life by the four agreements and life will become easier. Living by these agreements I learn to look at situations a different way which helps in a certain aspect of making life easier. Ruiz lived by these four agreements and shared them to help others seek a better life. The four agreements are a new way of living life. Out of all the agreements the three that I focus on the most in my life are to don’t make assumptions, don’t take anything personally, and to always do your best so that I can live an enjoyable and worry free life. The agreement to not make assumptions is a significant agreement that Ruiz talked about because to me it means that you should never judged a book by its cover. “The big mitote in the human mind creates a lot of chaos which causes us to misinterpret everything and misunderstand everything”(Ruiz 65). In our brains we make assumptions because we need to satisfy our need to imply what we think happened or what we think we heard or saw and run with that. If I learn not to make assumptions then that will help me stop worry and not think about the negative thoughts that would cloud my brain rather than the positive thoughts that I should...
