...Isaiah Davis 05-08-2012 Justice in a P.S. Seeing Through the Lens of Biblical Justice Biblical Justice has been one of the main topics that we have been discussing in our class lately. Biblical Justice involves making individuals, communities, and the creation whole, by supporting both goodness and impartiality. Biblical Justice stands at the center of true religion, according to the book of James, James believed that the kind of religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: “to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” James 1:27. Proverbs 29:7 says, “The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. I believe that if we can live according to biblical justice in whatever society where in, things won’t be as difficult as they are. The christian perspective on justice goes along with biblical justice, when being a christian we should be gentle and kind, more understanding, merciful and helpful. A christian is to do things the way God intended on them to be done or by living how Jesus lived. The way that I would connect a Christian perspective of Justice to a philosophical understanding of justice would be through the three philosophical views of justice. The three philosophical views of justice are Utilitarian, Contract, and Entitlement. Utilitarianism is a theory based on the principle that "actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote...

...Bibl: 104 biblical worldview essay Ramona Collins 06/24/2015 Introduction: Chapter, 1-8 they are good resources in writing about a Christian worldview. Paul wrote a letter to the Romans, he talked about some important points of Christian life. Paul, talks about so many subjects about god's wrath toward mankind, which can serve as a warning that causes turning away from god, it's to obtain peace and tranquility and life through the blood of Jesus. Paul tells us of how god have plan to go above bringing his people from Israel, but to redeem all mankind. There patriarch Abraham, he shows that Abraham is not justified by his own actions, but by his faith. It was his faith, his heart, that resulted in justification that came before he was circumcised. Throughout this letter we see what type of man, and find a solution that is not to simply be a better person, and to submit to the will of god, and accept the blood of Jesus faith, reassuring that it is by faith that we are saved ( Romans 5:1). The natural world: A biblical worldview of the natural world or human origin its in the scripture several times, starting with in the beginning god created heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1). In Romans it talks about the natural world in a biblical worldview, in Romans 1:20 says, for his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Introduction: The “Image of God.” What is the image of God in a Christian? The “image of God” is vastly used to describe what the Christian faith should portray. We can find this term in the Bible a few times. In the Old Testament, Genesis 1:26-27 to be exact we find that it states that “man is created to the image of God”. I believe that “the belief that mankind is created in the image of God” really is trying to allow us to see that our reflection should be that of those characteristics that God portrays such as compassion, love, understanding, patience, respect and so on. As I am currently studying to work in Business Administration focused in the Healthcare Management, I believe that I need to be able to portray patience and respect. Example 1: Respect for others is a great way to be able to put the image of God into practice with my chosen vocation. We can clearly see that in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and over you in the lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.”) what God is trying to teach us about respect towards others. We cannot just sit there and disrespect others due to their imperfections, for every single one of us has imperfections but yet have great respected qualities that differ from one person to another. In the healthcare management field one must be able to respect...

...Biblical Worldview Essay The book of Romans is the sixth book of the Holy Bible. It was written by Paul, “a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart to the gospel of God” (Romans 1:1). Romans is a Pauline Epistle which means a letter from Paul. These letters were the first written information about Jesus; for these letters were written before God inspired the penning of the Gospel (Deffinbaugh, 2007). Paul started his ministry or preaching of the gospel message after his transformation in Jesus Christ; his conversion to Christianity on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). Paul’s focus throughout Romans is “the righteousness of God” (Romans 1:16-17). Focusing on chapters one through eight of Romans, it will take me through the elemental and “structural” illumination of the Christian faith. The chapters will reflect on the “plan of Him who works out….everything to His will” (Ephesians 1: 11). These are the Biblical instructions on the responding to human relationships, treatment of the universe and environment, and religious issues. Paul (1 Corinthians 2: 1) (2 Corinthians 10:10) like Moses (Exodus 4:10) was not an eloquent speaker, but they spoke volumes for the kingdom of God. By having a grasp, foundation, for my views I can state my convictions to others (1 Peter 3:15) with certainty and in love (Ephesians 4: 15). The Natural World Paul expounds on components and truths of the Biblical Worldview as it relates to the natural world. He is adamant in his...

I believe God gives us certain gifts as believers to help others with their emotions, and help try to lift their burdens. Ephesians 5:15 “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,” I believe God is the creator has all the power and has the answer for all problems. Summary I Example I: My first example is depression. Depression is one of the leading causes that people see psychologist. The word depression is not found in The King James version of the Bible. The Bible does use words like downcast, sad, forlorn, discouraged, mourning, or brokenhearted just to name a few. It is said that Moses, Saul, Job, and Judas Iscariot suffered from depression during certain times in their life. I know some practices and offices have a problem with talking to others especially patients or clients about religion. I believe when it comes to a topic like depression how could I leave God out. I believe God gives hope in the midst of depression. John 14:16 KJV “And I will pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide...

...BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY Student: Shawn M Jordan-Becerra Student ID: #L24511269 THEO 104-D12 LUO Introduction: “In God We Trust”, for now, is imprinted on every piece of U.S. currency today. The Government made it an importance to share the gospel of God even in this small phrase so Americans would follow the Biblical values set for us by understanding this trust even in something as small as a penny. When I finally chose to acquire my degree in finance I had already been working in the industry for over twenty years. And I fought the call of becoming a CPA for many years throughout my work experience. When I took God’s path I knew I wanted to attend a college that was faith based and would lay the ground work in expanding my Christian beliefs so I could apply it to my career. With this new found knowledge it will be important for me to use the Biblical principles in my everyday involvement of my work. “Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom and instruction and understanding” Prov. 23:23). My career goal is to be honest and faithful to His word and to imitate His image in the process. Example 1: Finance is a valued part of the Christian life. Whether it is tithing or making sure you are living within your means. God takes how you handle your money, or the money of a company, as serious as any other important issue in your daily living...

...BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY Within the bible there are several mentions of how mankind is created in God’s image. This is the foundation to the Christian faith. In the world of Nursing we have to be careful on how we discuss any religion. I have learn throughout the years to just come out and ask a person and to ask them if there is any restriction within their religion as pertaining to the way I as a nurse would take care of them. “The historical biblical account of the creation of Adam and Eve (Genesis 1:26-27) states that God made the first man and woman 'in His own image'” (Grigg, 2015). It is important to set a good example since we have been created in the image of God. Being in the world of nursing I try to be mindful of what I say and do since I am a representation of God. It is always important to show goodness, kindness and to have empathy for those whom you are taking care of. There are many challenges face within nursing from the patients, the patient families and just the overall work environment. I try to remain positive and just let the patient voice what is going on with them. The best form of effective communication is just to listen. I teach them how to keep positive and help them to determine their own outcome. If they are a Christian, I remind them that God is there to help guide them through these times and he will provide an answer. “Hebrews 1:2 tells us that when God made the worlds (KJV) or universe (NIV), He did so by His Son” (Grigg, 2015)...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Samantha Tuz BIBL 104-B55 In the book of Romans we learn many things about the Christian life and how the world is viewed through the biblical worldview. We learn how we should view the natural world, human identity, human relationships, culture, and much more from this book. Romans 1-8 is full of so much information if we do not look deeper into it we will not understanding the full meaning and misunderstand what Paul was trying to teach us. Romans chapter 1:18-32 "Rome back in Paul's day, was full of every sin imaginable. We see Homosexuality, worship of the creation rather than the creator God." Just as our natural world today is full of sin of all kind as well. In our world now the same sins are being committed now that were being committed then but more so now due to things such as the internet which allows sin to happen easily and we are all connected. In Romans human identity is described from the very beginning. Humans are God's creation, "exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles" (Romans 1:22). Most of them are sinful as "they are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents" (Romans 1:30). They forgot the word of God or did not bother to trust him and follow his word, so they lived a life of sin not allowed by God. The only help humanity can get is Faith because God can help...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Introduction/Thesis The Bible brings us everything we need to know and live by for our entire lives. The Bible brings us not just questions but answers as well. One section though brings us answers to foundational truths and relevant answers to inadmissible questions. Throughout this essay I will be going over how Romans 1-8 address’s all of those answers including the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. The Natural World Even threw the fall we see God’s work on this world through nature. Everything was perfect at first until the fall. Afterwards we see that everything has a consequence. The consequence that we humans face is sin. Not only did nature start to lose its color but humans started to fall deeper and deeper into sin. We are now no longer born without sin but born into a sin nature. For we as humans need to have faith in God and believe in him or when God comes back, things won’t be pretty. We see God portrayed as a powerful worrier in the beginning of Romans when Paul talks about God and the sinful people. We see Paul talk about how God will not take it easy on those who do not believe in him, and those who our wicked by nature. When God comes back he will show his wrath to the unholy and the non-believers. One may wonder why God is so harsh on the non-believers. God is displeased at the fact that people look at him in the way of a lie and that they want to find a reason/way to live that fits their lifestyle...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Tonya Bryant BIBL104 Liberty University Unless otherwise noted, Scripture quotations are from The Student Bible, New International Version ® Copyright © 1986, 1992 by The Zondervan Corporation Introduction Worldview is how we see the world. It’s subjective because each person is different and has different ways of viewing things. Generations can view the world differently. Small things can change over time. For example, my daughter was reading her school supply list the other day. As she read aloud I heard “loose leaf notebook paper, notebooks, calculator, pens, hash tag 2 pencil… mom, what is a hash tag 2 pencil?” Of course I giggled out loud because this was an obvious generational thing. In my day we didn’t have social media like Twitter and Instagram. But, she has been predisposition to read a number sign as a hash tag. I explained it, but that is one example of how one generation’s view of one thing can change dramatically. Biblical worldview is how we see the world as Christians and how we relate everything back to our faith. Romans 1-8 is Paul’s letter to the church in Rome. Paul wanted to visit but was not able to so he wrote a letter. He needed to address the church because he was getting reports of its growth and it was his job to guide them in the way that they should grow. The topics Paul addressed were: the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture. Paul’s letter was to give them...

...Biblical Foundations Essay Presented to Prof. Ryan Rush For THEO 330– Theology of the Family By February 7, 2014 Biblical Foundations Essay The Bible tells us “But if someone does not provide for his own, especially his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” (1Timothy 5:8) this class has been a blessing to me because of the amount of focus it has on the family, a topic greatly needed in this day, despite what position you may hold in either the church or the secular world. One thing that stuck out to me in the first week was the importance of understanding the instructions for fathers. This hit home for the obvious reason of me being a father. I learned that in the book of Deuteronomy 6 we are given instructions to follow God, an instruction that can help groom and take care of the family that God allowed us to take care of. Following God is understanding that he is God alone and we must always love and obey him. This will ensure we are doing what’s pleasing in the eyes of God and taking care of our families the way he intended us too. This makes me reflect on how exciting it is to be able to raise your children with the fear of the Lord at a nice early age, I can truthfully see the difference in how I came up and the way my children are being raised. Next, what stuck out to me although, all was important and interesting, but it was family discipleship that really touched me. Being able to teach...

...Biblical Worldview Essay THEO 104 June 17, 2013 Liberty University Introduction From the very beginning of time, we were all created in the image of God (Genesis 1: 26-28). Our very essence is love because God is love (1 John 4:8). Psychology is a nurturing and life changing career field which provides many opportunities to live a professional life that not only honors God, but shows believers and unbelievers God’s enduring love. Psychologists are organized professionals focused on healing human suffering. Being created in the image of the Lord, who is the Great Physician, gives us a supernatural ability to usher in healing in the name of Jesus. As a Christian psychologist, I will have the unique privilege of touching lives on a deep and personal level. Integrity and dependability are two characteristics that will enable me to serve others through my calling and glorify the Lord Almighty, who made me in His loving image. Integrity Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. To be morally upright describes our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He committed no sin and no deceit was found in his mouth (1 Peter 2:22). I was made in the image of my sinless savior that spoke truth and kept His word. As a psychologist, integrity and confidentiality are paramount. According to the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the APA, it should be the goal of psychologists to promote accuracy, honesty, and truthfulness in the...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Christians believe that mankind is created in the image of God. This belief affects the way Christians interact with people they chose to be with in their vocation. In this essay I will attempt to write about exactly how mankind being created in the image of God affects me in my daily life. I will also attempt to use examples of being a Christian and the choices I make because of this belief that mankind is created in the image of God. I work in a supply and demand field. Every day I use my company credit card to purchase products and parts for our company. I also make sure the contracts we purchase are done right and no one is being cheated out of their money. I would have to say that this is one example of how this belief that mankind is created in the image of God affects me. I do not believe in cheated people out of their money and I am a very honest person. Since I do work for the military buying products I constantly get phone calls from vendors wanting me to purchase their products. Sometimes I have to turn my phone off because there are people out there just trying to make a quick sell and the product is not good. The Bible states “Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. "It is written," he said to them," 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a 'den of robbers.' " (Matthew 21: 12-13)...

...Biblical Worldview and Criminal Justice When I initially read the topic of this essay, I wasn’t too sure what I was going to write about. I had never really taken the time to think about how my major and Christianity connected with each other. As I’m sitting here thinking of it now, Christianity and criminal justice connect perfectly. The bible and criminal justice system go hand in hand. There are many different aspects of the criminal justice system that stem straight from the bible itself. One example of how Christianity and criminal justice is connected is by law and consequence. Both Christianity and the judicial system have laws that a person has to abide by. If those rules are broken, consequences will follow. As a criminal justice major, my ultimate goal after I complete my degree is to become a police officer. Working as a police officer, I will encounter many situations where individuals will break or test the law. It is going to be my duty to make sure that people are abiding by these laws in order to help keep the public safe. With that being said, in order to enforce these laws, individuals that break them will have to receive consequences. These consequences will come in the form of citations, court dates, jail time, and so on. Being a police officer, it will be my job to ensure the safety of the public. I won’t necessarily like having to issue these various consequences to people, but it is vital to the success and purpose of the laws that are put...

...Biblical Worldview Essay The apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans addresses many topics including the natural world, our human identity, human relationships, as well as cultural references. Paul understood the need to clarify our purpose on this earth and the realities of sin as well as the grace afforded to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul’s letter addresses a question that has been on the hearts of almost everyone at some point in time, why do people suffer? His words reflect the benefit of having a relationship with Jesus the Christ when living under the curse of sin from a fallen humanity. “Suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character; and character, hope (Romans 5:3-4).” In the natural world we face the realities of sin on a daily basis and the consequences of that sin, whether it is our own sin or the sin of another. Paul reinforces the fact it only took one sin or trespass to condemn all of mankind. However, to the glory of God, it only took one act of righteousness through Christ Jesus to bring life to all men (5:18). Because God knew that man would need a litmus test or a guide to measure right from wrong, He gave us the Law. Our natural tendencies consist of obeying the flesh and our sinful desires, but the grace of God is sufficient to cover all of our sin. We can’t escape the fact that death on this earth is certain, apart from the catching away of the saints at the sounding of the trumpet call. This natural death, due to the fall of mankind...
