BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

The researcher was born on the 15th day of December 1992. He is the 3rd children of Mr. and Mrs. Sanny Ignacio. He spent his elementary education at San Juan Elementary School, San Juan, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. Through the guidance of his supportive parents, he spent his secondary education at the Ilocos Norte Agricultural College, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. He always believed that It wasn’t him who was wrong it was the world. After his high school education, he decided to enroll at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) Batac, Ilocos Norte to pursue Bachelor of Science in Biological Science. After 365 days stay at the College of Arts and Sciences he became the Assistant Treasurer and After 700 days he became the SC President of the College. He attempted to run for the position of CSC but failed many times. Through the years, he learned a lot of skills, knowledge and the determination to go on with life’s struggle. He strongly believes that Ideals alone cannot change the world. He always prophesized things that will happen base on pure calculation. Within his stay in the College he has learned that with money you can never be alone. He met several kinds of people and to summarize it all half angel and half demon.

Adviser: DR. DOREEN D. DOMINGO The study was conducted to determine the ecophysiological and cytophatological impact of Poultry Litter Ash to Paramecium caudatum. It also aimed to determine the inorganic matter content of Poultry Litter Ash; determine the ecophysiological responses of Paramecium sp. to PLA in terms of food vacuole activity and contractile vacuole activity; and determine the cytopathological impact of Paramecium sp. to PLA as to mortality, in the form of changes in the body size, shape and macronuclear changes. The study was conducted at the laboratory rooms of the Biology and Chemistry Department of the College of Arts and Sciences, Mariano Marcos State University, City of Batac, 2906 ,Ilocos Norte. There were four concentrations mixed with culture medium namely 0.025. 0.050, 0.075, and 0.01 of PLA and a control of 100 percent pure culture. In the Mortality of Paramecium caudatum after 3 hours of exposure to PLA there is zero mortality and this implies that the amount of applications of the treatment in varying proportions were still tolerated by the paramecium. In the food Vacuole activity after 30 minutes of exposure to PLA there is significant difference among Control, T1, T2, and T3 compare to T4. This implies that the higher the concentration there is a larger number of food vacuole formed. After 1 hour of exposure to PLA there is no significant difference among the treatments. In the Contractile vacuole activity there is significant difference among the treatments. It also reveal that T1 and T2 has similar effect and T3 and T4 has similar . effect In the Macronucleus there is no significant difference among the treatments which implies that the PLA has no direct effect on the nucleus of the Paramecium caudatum. In the observation of ecophysiological effects of PLA on Paramecium caudatum it is observable that as the concentration of the treatments increases the size of the paramecium also increases. Moreover, the ash analysis of PLA revealed the presence of Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium and Chlorine. Quantitative analysis on the different inorganic materials present in PLA should be considered and studied.
Lastly, assuming that PLA is capable of absorbing PLA study on the new metabolite form is recommended to determine whether it is more toxic or not.
